New Life

All my life, I was hailed as a genius. I learned quickly and I progressed in my studies easily. The only problem was, I came from a poor family hence I needed to stop my studies from high school.

After that, I worked various jobs like a construction worker, etc. But I had a dream or passion at that time. I love learning about history, specifically, kingdoms or nations of the past.

I don't know why, I had always had my attention on that subject. I wanted to explore and see the historical remains of the past civilizations. Hence I did my best to earn money, I pooled the money I've earned from my jobs and started a small business which I managed to grow in years.

And then when I have money, I indulge In my dreams and traveled all over the world for historical sights. Then I'd read books about history, heck I'd even read and watch otaku stuff like LN, WN, Manga, or Anime. Of course, I did my best and cared for my parents.

Unfortunately, all of that would end now as I was in my car with my vision getting blurry. As for why I am in this state, I had been in an accident.

As time goes by, I can hear some faint sounds of ambulances and people's murmurs. Soon I felt my eyelids getting heavier and slowly I succumb to it and closed my eyes.

'What is these voices, so loud!' I thought as I promptly tried to open my eyes but it was hard. And when I finally opened them, my vision was blurry.

I could only make up some silhouettes of people around me, especially the ones who are carrying me...Wait, carrying me? I am already an adult though so why...?

My mind raced through various thoughts. Being carried, blurry vision, and the language which I haven't heard of before. After some time, I came to an unbelievable conclusion.

'I was reincarnated!' I thought that's the only conclusion I came up with. All clues I've got pointed at reincarnation. First, I was being carried by someone in their arms like a baby, along with blurry vision.

Then there's this unknown language I'm hearing, I know it because, in my life, I learned many things including various languages.

I know it's unbelievable that I learned that many but it's true though I didn't learn all languages since that's just impossible in my lifetime. All my life, I've yearned for knowledge of various things especially historical knowledge of kingdoms and rulers.

Anyway, I'm getting tired, let's sleep for now and worry about the details later...yawn*

In a courtyard, a man and a kid were holding wooden swords. On the side was a row of maids.

"This is all for today, your highness." Said a tall black-haired man towards a kid in front of him.

"Thank you for the training, Lord Aedion." The kid replied as he passed his training sword to a maid.

Aedion was a man of tall stature with a big build and imposing aura. He has a handsome face with raven black hair and sparkling blue eyes.

"It is my honor, your highness." Aedion replied humbly, "But as expected of you, your highness has improved once again in your swordsmanship." he smiled.

"It is thanks to your teachings, Lord Aedion," William replied

William was a slender-looking boy with soft-looking flax-brown, slightly wavy hair, green eyes, and a cream color skin.

"Your highness, William is amazing. At 6 years old, your mastery over the sword is at this stage. It seems our kingdom is blessed, and I'm sure your highness will grow up to be a splendid knight and king." Aedion smiled brightly and William smiled in return.

"Then please excuse me, I shall leave now. I still need to report to his majesty." Aedion bowed towards William who nodded then walked away.

"I should go and change too, my clothes are soaked in sweat." William touched his clothes and noticed it was soaked in his sweat due to training.

It has been 6 years since his reincarnation in this world. Yes, this world as he is in a different world from his past world. This brand new world was a sword and magic type.

William was also reincarnated as the crown prince of a medium-sized country. Their country wasn't the most powerful nor was it the weakest.

Their kingdom was the kingdom of Caelum. Their kingdom was also dubbed the Kingdom of Knights due to its famous knights and knight orders.

And his identity was also the reason why he was training with the sword. Though it was also William's idea to train early. In his own words, 'It is better to train early so I can become strong enough to protect myself and this country.'

"What's next on my schedule?" William was walking on the palace's hallways while beside him was his attendant. It was a middle-aged man with sleek hair.

"You have lessons with Lord Sirius, your highness."

"I see, so it's history and mostly lessons about how to properly act like a prince, right?" William said softly,

"Yes, your highness. Ever since you showed that you learned the other subjects like arithmetic fast, his majesty has decided to just focus on those two subjects." His attendant gazed at William in admiration.

"I see..."

They walked for quite some time and finally reached the room where William's teacher is. Entering, you can see an old man with white hair testament to his advanced age.

The room was decorated lightly without superficial things. It has a table and chairs in the middle with bookshelves on the sides. There's also a large window letting in some light.

William bowed his head slightly towards the old man, "Lord Sirius, I look forward to learning from you."

His attendant also bowed towards the old man.

"Hoho~ It is my honor to teach his highness. Now then, shall we start our lessons?" Sirius signaled for William to sit opposite of him.

"You can leave now," William said to his attendant, he didn't want someone other than his teacher in the room while he was learning. The attendant bowed and left the room.

William then took a seat opposite of Sirius, "Please start the lesson."

"Hoho, well then let's start with the history of our kingdom." Sirius started, "Our kingdom of Caelum was established 200 years ago by Alastair von Caelum who at that time was a Duke of the Bluesphere Empire. After seeing the treatment of nobles towards the commoners of the empire, His majesty Alastair decided to branch off the empire which birthed our Caelum kingdom. Of course, his desire to be independent was met with opposition by the empire but he rallied his army and fought a hard battle. In the end, he managed to successfully split from the empire. And his fief back then became the start of our kingdom. From then on, he conquered some surrounded small states and the large unexplored forest and expanded our kingdom's territory. Well, that's the summary of how our kingdom was formed. And due to that, our relationship with the empire was hostile."

"I see, but I've once read in a book that although our kingdom's territory encompasses the Death Forest, the aforementioned large unexplored forest, there's still a large amount of land of that forest that we haven't expanded out. Why is that?" William asked

"Fumu, that is because there are many demon beasts in that forest, it is also why it was called Death Forest as entering it has a high death rate. The first king, his majesty Alastair only managed to conquer about 20 percent of that forest and that's only the outskirts of it. The reason why that forest is considered as our kingdom's territory is that His majesty Alastair conquered the surrounding territories around it thus it is inside out territory. But in fact, we haven't completely conquered it. And we also can't forcibly mobilize an expedition for expansion as we border a hostile nation, the Bluesphere Empire."

"Mm, I understand but those demon beasts, do they come out of that forest? If that's the case they could cause a serious problem in the nearby territories there."

"I'm glad you're thinking about our people already, your highness. And yes, some demon beasts do come out sometimes but the knights of the lord's of the territories nearby the forest subjugate those beasts before it could cause serious damages." Airius smiled in appreciation at William.

"Thank you for answering my inquiries, please continue the lessons."

"Hoho, understood, your highness."

Their lessons continued, William was taught of the surrounding notable nations such as the Earlshide Kingdom, one of the largest kingdoms in the continent which can match the Blueshpere Empire.

Then there's the Ys Holy Nation which is a theocratic nation worshipping the creator god. Els nation of free commerce, a notable merchant kingdom. William also learned about some small nations that border their kingdom.

After his lesson about geography and geopolitics, William was taught about manners that he should remember as royalty.

"And with that, our lessons for today are done. Fumu, as expected of you Prince William, you've learned quite fast and even understood many things." Sirius had a smile and gazed in admiration at the 6 years old kid in front of him.

Frankly, it was his first lesson with William and he was expecting a mannerless kid. Of course, he's also heard of the rumors that the crown prince is a genius and learned arithmetic at the age of 6.

But he didn't fully believe such rumors as they tend to be exaggerated so when he finally met William, he was surprised at his manners. And then onto the lessons, the questions asked by the 6-year-old prince were something that adults would ask.

The prince hasn't acted like your typical 6 year old but more like an experienced adult, is what Sirius thought after the lesson. But he was also grateful as with a prince like this their kingdom would prosper in the future.

"I am looking forward to our next session, your highness. This old man would do his best to teach you all the things I know." Sirius smiled brightly just thinking of the future.

"Then I shall thank you, Lord Sirius." William bowed his head.

"Hoho, please look forward to it. Then I'll excuse myself, your highness." Sirius stood up and grabbed the books he brought.

William also stood up and escorted Sirius out the door. "Once again, thank you for the lesson." he bowed towards the old man after getting out the room.

William watched as the old man walked away from him. His attendant was back, standing behind him.

"There's nothing left in my schedule, right?" William asked

"Yes, your highness. Your schedule for today has been freed."

"Hm, then I guess I should head to the library. I still need to know of some things." William nodded, "Let's go!"

"Yes!"
