26 Chapter 22: The Siblings and the Princess (2)

The door from Regis's bedroom slowly opened, revealing the figure of a slightly flushed Arias.

"I'm sorry for eavesdropping to your conversation earlier."

"Don't mind it. Instead, I was the one who should be sorry for letting you hear something like that. Come on let's take a sit over there. There are so many things you want to ask me right?"

"U-Un."

Regis gently grasped her hand and led her to the corner of the room where the small sofa set is located.

The two seated at the long sofa side by side as expected of the couple but they remained silent for a few minutes without anyone talking. Because of that, Arias lightly jabbed Regis with her elbow, urging him to start a conversation.

"Sheeesh~ Regis, what are you doing? You should be the one to start the conversation, not me."

"Eh? Ah, that's right… What do you want to know?"

When Regis was talking to Arias, Regis tends to make mistakes like what he did in their childhood which most likely the main reason Arias cried a lot in the past. Only when he was flirting with her Regis can make a very good flow on a conversation with Arias using the knowledge he got from 'the books'.

Also, taking the past few days, for example, he already made Elizabeth hostile to him in just a single meeting since he doesn't care what the girl feels. So for the sake of a harmonious conversation, Regis planned to make this conversation into Arias questioning him and he will be just answering.

"Umm… I don't know if it's all right to ask this now, although I already refrained myself from asking this in the past… You just told me last night about your past and that your little sister already died that night. How come she's here today?"

"….."

Hearing that request, Regis once again falls into silence. He was just looking at her blankly which made Arias panic a bit.

"I-I'm just worrying about you… When you left the empire many years ago, I was frustrated to learn the fact that I almost know nothing about you… About those targets of your vengeance…"

"...Even though I'm the one closest to you. And when you told me everything last night, I was so happy but I also knew that you're still hiding something from me. One of them is this... Can you tell me about Reena? Please?"

Although it is a request, it became more like she's pleading. Arias' words grew weaker as she said that. Just like what Regis said earlier, right now, Arias' current expression looks very much alike to Reena's.

'That pitiful face looks very familiar...' treading along those kinds of thoughts, Regis was unable to suppress his laughter—

"...Don't worry Arias, I intend to tell you later about Reena since I want to properly introduce you to each other. That's the reason why we're eating out in the town. But seriously Pff~ttt! Ahahaha! I didn't think the two of you is similar to that extent! Hah..."

"Mouh!! Regis, I was being serious here! Why are you laughing?! Are you an idiot? No, you're an idiot!"

She did not expect Regis was still thinking about the thing he said earlier to Reena.

'I know that we have some similarities but think about my feelings right now!'

Fierce fluctuation of mana suddenly envelops Arias. From the looks of it, it's like she'll attack Regis any moment he made her anger again.

Seeing the condensing magic at Arias' right hand and her flushed face, the panicking Regis immediately escaped to the other side of the long sofa.

"NOOOO!!! Stop that Arias! Calm down yourself! Calm down! I'll tell you everything now so stop focusing your magic in that hand of yours!"

"You should have done that from the start! Making me angry like this…"

"Whew! That was very close… I'll refrain doing that in the future, I'm sorry…"

'Although she's not much of a cry baby now, she unexpectedly became scary…'

Thankfully, Arias immediately dispersed the mana in her hand. Regis finally breathed a sigh of relief and once again seated himself closely to Arias.

After a feigned coughing once, without the playful tone he has earlier, Regis once again began talking.

"Arias, we'll be having our dinner at Romaria's again and you don't need to change out form your uniform."

"I-Is that all right? I mean, wasn't Reena still angry at me earlier? I may spoil her mood again if I go with the two of you."

Arias was a bit anxious when she asked that question to Regis but he didn't mind it at all, instead, he just laughs it off.

"Oh, that? Don't worry about that. I don't know why she's upset about you earlier. But to tell you the truth, she's pretty excited to get to know you. I mean, one of the other reasons for her being here at the academy is to meet you, her future older sister."

"Eh? Is that so? S-So I'm already accepted by your family…"

"My family is consisted only by me, Reena and Arias, you know? Anyway, there's really nothing for you to worry about."

"T-Then, there's nothing to worry about our marriage…" mumbles Arias that even Regis almost didn't hear it clearly.

"—Eh? Did I hear correctly? What did you just said?"

"I said our marriage!~ Mou~! You're making me say it twice! Anyways, Regis~! I think it's about time Reena finishes her preparation. Let's quickly get her and go to town! There are so many things I need to talk about with Reena for our future!"

Unknowingly, the direction of Arias' thought got derailed that it definitely headed down the wrong path which Regis considered it dangerous in so many ways.

"Oi oi! I think you're getting too excited! It's too soon! We're just seventeen you know?! Seventeen! And there are so many things I need to do before settling down! "

'Ha~ah…Really, this girl…'

"I know~! But we can reverse the sequence of events right? Ufufufu!~ How brilliant am I?"

'Really… Even in this aspect, she's very similar to Reena. How troublesome…'

"Never mind, let's pick her up now."

Holding her hand, Regis and Arias went inside Reena's bedroom to get her.
