4 Ray Burton

Ray, full name Murray Burton is a son of a peasant in the great magic kingdom as it stands today. He lived life harshly with only his talents in theories revolving around magic, wishing one day he would receive enough money to get in a school.

But life wasn't easy for the poor as many materials was needed to be accounted when being admitted, such as fees to further professor research, bedding, accommodations, student uniforms, and wands. Such amount could never be imagined handed to a peasant. But that didn't stop him from attending the occasional magician demonstrations held publicly. He was also quite fortunate, his memories was one of the best even being able to recite a whole book once being read. But memorization and theoretical studies was just a factor in the works of being a full fledged magician.

what came into play was talent and a will to dominate. But what was Ray? A timid child of a peasant who was a book worm. Memory and theories wouldn't get him far in a normal low class life nor a magician. So he chose the next best thing. A Magic Scholar! They are well versed in the studies of magic and their magic abilities ranged from none to talented. he studied hard and even helped out his parent's stall for money to eventually save up to be a student. But luck was coming around and he met a magic teacher who just moved in and wanted to reside their for a bit. But an incident occurs with the city being eventually razed and his parents disappearance. Everyone that was acquainted with them just thought they died in the fire, but Ray saw it. The man clad in armor, a plume residing on his right foremost spaulder. A mighty longsword with the blood slowly dripping down his blade. The eyes of piercing fires and the lion insignia with the blue sapphire eyes that held wisdom and power embedded in his chest piece. It was no accident, it was murder. But what questioned him the most was, why didn't the magic teacher do anything about it? Not go against the criminal? Why is he in front of him in line in receiving food as if nothing ever happened and not standing up to the challenge.

He caught glimpses of the man staring at Ray but he chose to remain silent on the man. He finally came by and told him he would help him get in a school. He had no reason to deny but he had no reason to go with the man. But he chose to and he came to a school called Moire's Magic Academy, in the city of Moire. His savings was not needed due to the scholarship he received by the magic teacher to be brought under his wing and he advised him to buy a dimensional ring. But the problem was, instead of buying material to help him cultivate his magic, instead, buy a ring to store items? He was destined to be a pack mule for his teacher on his travels. His life only amounted to that? But due to him being the teacher, his belongings wasn't his anymore, he bought the ring using all his savings in Moire and was poor once more. The school only dealt with their living expenses and nothing else, a mission board and a check in was made to solve the problem to help procure the academy money and to give them experience in the field. He had no money nor did he have the magic so how could he? He lived on the meager rations they serve when most of the luxury goods were bought with coins. He finally learned in history lessons, that a kingdom near them Tyridal, was skilled in the arts of the blade and on the board was a crest that belongs to an elite group over yonder, it ignited his rage and frustration. The same blue eyes that reminded him of the man who caused the incident, was one of the group called the Lion Guards. One must be passive mind when being a mage, and he wasn't much a fine example to the phrase at all. That halted the little progress he had in magic and with only magic theories, failed all exams to graduate from the school to be admitted in the school. He thought that being a magic scholar allowed all with talents with magic to be admitted, but recent changes set a minimum regulation which shattered it all. His teacher was just borrowing him for his ring instead of buying it. If he were to fail the graduation trials, he would be expelled and would be on his permanent record for the rest of his school career. But with such little talent, what could he do? He stood at the top of the spire that overlooked the whole school.

He looked at his hands in contempt and the surroundings. The chirps of the birds that flew overhead, the swaying of the grand trees that number in the yard. And the small castle that was smaller than the tower that was in the city of Moire.

He thought it was time, he prayed that his revenge would be served to the Lion Guards and cursed them. With everything checked, he began to tighten his hands on the railing.

Only to let go.

He began his descent
