Yuri took careful steps, nearing me and his best friend who had a deadly grimace on his face.

"What are you talking about, Yuri?" Nickolai snarled, "this is not some kind of sick game where you can save her from me."

"I was the one who killed your biological mother, Kolya." Yuri was now standing beside me, "she came here when you were shot after Alex died. Do you remember that day?"

Nickolai looked awfully pained, but he nodded. "She posed as one nurse, but Tina couldn't recognize her so we had her checked. Your mother came here to kill you."

They stared at each other, emerald and cerulean hues talking, scrutinizing each other's body language.

"How did you know she came here to kill me?" Nickolai was the one who broke the deafening silence. "She could've come here to talk to me, to make things right. I was dying that day, Yuri."
