Ace. This was not how I wanted to see him again. It surprises me how he found out about this location, he must've kept a tab on me when I stepped on his radar in New York.

I knew this was him, this wasn't the first time we met under the same circumstances since Paris.

Sneaking up on the search party headed at Yuri's direction, I snapped one of the three men's neck from behind, choked the other, and took his knife, threw it at the third guy between his eyes.

I took their knives, grenades and sent a message to Sin from one of their sat phones, hoping that they'd find Yuri in time.

Using one of their night vision, I got a glimpse of how many men are swarming around the beach and the man in charge of this operation.

He was smoking, took a long drag of his Cuban cigar before puffing it out of his chest. I smirked at remembering how he hated cigarettes before.

His blond hair was neatly tied which emphasized his strong jaws, those icy gray orbs that hide their feelings perfectly in a scowl all the time. Those pinkish lips that forgot how it felt to smile.

Ace is from another clan of assassins. We became friends and eventually got into a secret forbidden relationship that I ended three years ago.

He sat on the side of his speedboat as if waiting for me to come out with blazing guns. It's stupid but I'd give him what I want because I wanted to protect another person on this island.

I threw a grenade at one of their boats as I ran into a gunfight. Using the masked man I shot between his eyes as a shield, I saw a glimpse of Ace's smirk. I put down fifteen of his men without haste but Ace just stood there, intently watching me slaughter his men.

One came behind me and tried to choke lock my neck but I fired my gun on his foot and shot him in the head when he let go. Ace nods and three men attack me in a blink of an eye. I evaded one as I threw a knife on the other's neck. The third guy tackled me on the ground and aimed for my face with his fist. I used the handgun I took from the scouts and shot the third guy's head, his blood splattering in my jeans.

"Stop killing my men or I'll put a bullet in his head" Ace's icy voice broke my trance. Looking up in his direction, Yuri's lips and brows we're blooded and his cheeks were black-eyed. "Ah... I see he's someone close to you, my darling. Now, be a good girl and let go of my man's neck."

I did as he asked as I looked into Yuri's half-open eyes. His grassy orbs we're apologetic, somehow, part of me was happy that he tried his best to help me even if it was a stupid move.

"You wound me, darling, I thought your heart still belongs to me." Ace traced his jagged knife on Yuri's cheek.

"It is, Ace" I answered coldly but he laughed it off as he kicked Yuri's knee from behind, making him kneel in front of me.

"You were never a good liar, darling. That's one of the reasons why you never lie right, it was hard for you, even if you're a killer like me" he took out his gold .38 beretta and aimed it at Yuri's temple. "I was sent to kill him, but I have far more reason to kill him now because of the look in your eyes, Tesoro," he unlocked his gun.

"Please" I was surprised to hear myself beg.

Ace raised his eyebrows "you're begging? Begging for this playboy's life, Adrianna!?" The pain in his voice was icy cold. "No one can have you if I can't!"

He was squeezing his trigger when two of the men behind me dropped on the sand. I took that as a sign to throw my dagger at Ace's direction. He grins evilly as my dagger met his bullet. He used the butt of his gun to slam into Yuri's head but Yuri held Ace's wrist and the two fell in the sand as they flung punches at each other.

The beach was lit by a chopper as Yuri's men repelled from the sky. Sin was first to set foot and was on my side before everyone landed and she handed me a .45 Remington.

"Thank you for coming" Sin smiled at me as she swiftly took down all the enemy in her path. Sin and I almost have the same fighting style except for the way she dances as she kills. She twirled and slit the throat of one man, did a backflip as she kicked another in the forehead with her landing on her hands with a knife in the man's gut. She loves dancing and developed a unique fighting style of her own with it.

We cleared the beach of Ace's men as they started to flee on their speed boats.

"My pleasure sister" she winked at me as she flipped her blond hair. Her green eyes glimmering under the moonlight. Nickolai, Ivan, and Turnip helped Yuri board the helicopter.

Yuri was seated beside me, Sin, Ivan and Nickolai sat in front of us while Turnip was seated with Zion in front of the chopper.

The growling of the engine as it flew by the dark knight faded in my senses as I felt Yuri's hand in mine. I looked up to him but he was looking at the window, as if oblivious to the speeding beating of my heart because of his fingers intertwined with mine.

I looked in front of me, Sin and Nickolai gave me a wink while Ivan's brows rose. Yuri tightened his grip in my hand when I tried to pull away, I was messy and covered with other people's blood, how can he possibly tolerate the way I smell and look right now?

It was a short flight to the Laskin estate, Yuri was still holding my hand as we hopped out of the chopper and walked into the back door of the house. We are walking behind Zion and Turnip while Sin, Nickolai and Ivan are behind us. It was almost midnight but my blood was still alive, all because of the man who was still holding my hands.

''Yuri!'' a high pitched woman's voice boomed from the living room. Yuri's hold on my hand tightened to the point of stopping my blood flow. ''Zion, is Yuri okay?'' She was still hidden by Turnip and Zion's huge figure in front of me.

Yuri's hold on my hand loosened and my hand fell on my side as my heart fell in hell.

''Honey'' a sexy blond in a skimpy white dress pushed Zion and Turnip aside. ''Oh Hun, are you okay?'' Her blue eyes were filled with worry as she wrapped her arms around Yuri. ''I thought I'd never see you again, Baby.''

Yuri stiffened at her touch but soon wrapped his arms around her shoulder as my heart shattered into tiny molecules.
