34 leaving

✨Andi✨

Yuri was still in an unconscious state. 75 hours have gone but still, he hasn't opened his eyes. I kept myself busy, good thing Sin and E are here, we used to spar when we were on training, and I kind of miss those days… a little.

My two assassin friends are now trashing Laskin's gym. We had all the place to ourselves since every Russian who entered the door was met by E's shuriken.

Sin's legs were now on top of E's shoulders, sprawled like a legged serpent while E pounded Sin's back on the wall. I clutched my stomach laughing hard, they are now brawling on the floor, both their lips are bleeding. Sin's shoulder was dislocated while E's nose was broken. I've already forgotten how they started fighting.

"Babe?" Nickolai's concerned filled voice sounded "what happened?"

"Nothing" Sin wiped her lips with the back of her hands. "Pop my shoulder" she glared at E.

"Pop my nose" E glared back.

Just like that, the fight was forgotten between them.

"Andi, Yuri's awake" I stiffened at what Nickolai said.

Sin and E gave me a worried glance, they knew what I was planning. "Let's go see him then." I chimed in and we walked to the infirmary.

Yuri's face was better now, his bruises lightened, and he was smiling as Faith tells him about her day. Natalia and Alek are also in the room and so was Isiah. The room was crowded with his friends and I all but stared at him, watched him smile again.

I missed his smile, the light in his glassy eyes, and the way his lips curve up to meet his brows. This man does wonders for my tummy every freaking time.

"Aren't you gonna go in?" Nickolai asked with Sin and E on his trail.

"No. It's family time" I turned my back on the infirmary before I do something I would regret later.

I know what I must do, but I never thought leaving him would be this hard. Most of the time, I was alone in a mission, this was actually the first time I stayed with four of Isiah's idiot under one roof. Why was leaving Yuri so different and difficult?

My travel bag is ready, my documents intact, my mind was set but my heart, hmmm not so much.

Before I could step out of Yuri's room, Nickolai came barging in.

"Where do you think you're going." He asked accusingly.

"uh… none of your business?" I swing the backpack over my shoulder. "Move."

"He just woke up and you're leaving?" he stood on the door, blocking my way out, the right way out.

"I have work to do, besides, I don't owe you any explanation" I crossed my arms over my chest.

He sneered "you should face what you feel, Andi. Don't run because you're scared."

"Who says I was running, Nickolai?" I taunt.

He stood straight, his fist balled, clenching his jaw. "I haven't asked you this, how do you know that name?"

"Again, none of your business, Nickolai" his blue eyes spitting fire in my direction.

"Only my father knows that name, even my birth certificate is Kolya. Tell me Adrianna" the fire in his eyes turns cold "did you know my father?"

I was taken aback by how cold Nickolai can be. He's always been soft towards me, even two years ago he'd always been the kind one.

"I did meet him once or twice, Nickolai. He speaks highly of you" my voice tone down softer at the pain in his eyes. I knew his story, or was his story. Nikolas Sokovich, his father, is an assassin for hire. We became close when I saved him once and after that, he befriended me. Even if he was twice my age, that never became a reason for him to not be my friend.

"When?" Nickolai's stormy eyes asked.

"I met him when I was fifteen on a mission. He saved my life and I saved his" I sighed "this is not my story to tell but he loves you very much, Nickolai. He left to save you, and I'll leave to save him" the last five words I said died in my mouth.

How ironic, I sound just like Nikolas. I've pitied him for as long as I can remember, not being able to hold the person you care the most.

Because of Nikolas, I promised myself that I would never do what he did, yet here I am. Leaving.

"Can you tell me more about him, Andi?" poor Nickolai plead.

"I'd love Nick but I have a flight to catch" his body stiffened.

"Why are you leaving, Andi? This isn't a solution for you and Yuri, he's in the mafia, we can protect you" he tried to convince me but what he said made me fùckin' laugh, like loud crackling.

"So…sorry…" I regained

my composure "oh God… I'm sorry…" Nickolai's brows furrowed. "I don't need anyone's protection. I have to go." He was still blocking my way and his stance turned aggressive. "Fine. The door is yours."

I bolted to the balcony, threw the bag I had before jumping from the second floor to the garden, side rolling to keep the momentum from breaking any of my bones. Dusting off my clothes and picking up my bag, I heard a thud and I was restrained back by big rough hands.

"At least say goodbye to him" Nickolai gripped my wrist. I knew he only cared about his best friend but if I do that, if I went inside his room and took even one glance at his beautiful face, I'd lose the strength I have now.

"Let go Nick" I warned. This was not how I wanted to leave. All I want is to sneak out and he is making a big mess out of it.

"No. When are you coming back? Do you even plan to? I can't see him break down again because of you" Nickolai gripped my shoulders but I flipped him off, his back hitting the lawn.

He groaned and I walked past him but he stood up and tried to restrain me again. This time, I pressed the pressure point on his neck, enough to delay the oxygen to his brain but not enough to kill him. Nickolai dropped like a log, I looked up and saw Isiah watching me from his room.

I turned my back on him, he was against me leaving but never said anything. He understands why I'm doing this even though we have different perspectives about this.

Reaching the airport, I passed through the customs and boarded the plane to Siberia. I'll be staying in Isiah's place for a while and plan my next move from there.

It's going to be a long flight, I tried to sleep but the man beside me was very agitated. My eyes were closed but I felt him standing up, probably on his way to the restroom. Warmth came back beside me and that familiar scent. Before I could protest, I opened my eyes and my hands were cuffed against a smirking Yuri.

"What the actual fùck?"
