Chapter 16

*Haze POV*

We all sat and ate breakfast in silence. Mitri's mom kept looking at him silently and his dad didn't say anything. Mitri kept his eyes on me as he ate, he didn't even glance at his parents. I don't know his past but all I know they didn't have a good relationship. After everyone finished breakfast I grabbed everyone's plates and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. As I was washing the dishes I could hear them all talking or more like yelling. Dimitri was saying something about how they never cared about him and his father was screaming at him telling him not to yell at his mother and his mother was crying trying to get them to stop yelling. Once I finished the dishes I put up the rest of the food and went back into the dining room. They had stopped arguing and were now talking. "What problem do you guys have?" Dimitri said as he rubbed his temples. "Your dad made some gang leader mad and now the man wants 50,000 dollars," Dimitri's mom says as she sips her orange juice. Dimitri then looks over at his dad then back to his mom. "Okay," he says then stands up from the table. He leaves the room and we all look at each other confused. He comes back a few minutes later with a duffle bag in his hand, he throws the bag on the table and opens it up. Inside the bag, there is money which I assume is 50,000 dollars. He then starts to walk towards the stairs until he turns around "I want you both out before evening" he says then he runs up the stairs not long after I can hear a door slam. I looked at his parents who didn't even look the tiniest bit guilty. I turned back around and jogged up the stairs. When I made it into our room he was sitting on the bed with his head in his hands. I slowly started to walk towards him until suddenly my phone started ringing. Dimitri looked up at me waiting for me to answer the phone I grabbed my phone off the nightstand only to see that it was an unknown caller ID. Cautiously I answered the phone only to be shocked when I hear "Hazel?" It was my stepfather. I haven't heard from him or saw him since the day I saw him at my mom's house. I don't know what happened to him that night all I can remember is driving off with Dimitri "Dad?" I ask. I look at Dimitri and his eyes suddenly go wide I can tell that he's about to try to grab the phone but before he could do anything I started running still on the phone with my dad I ran into the bathroom and locked the door. I could hear Dimitri looking for me so I try to stay as quiet as possible. "Hazel are you okay?" my dad asks "Yea I'm fine dad how are you?" "I'm good sweety but where are you?" I pause for a minute to think if it would be a good idea to tell him that I am living at Dimitri's. "I'm with Dimitri why?" I can then hear papers being crumbed and thrown in the background. "Are you still in town?" He asks and I can hear a car door slam next. "I think so, dad what's going on?" I ask now scared when I can hear Dimitri rattling the bathroom door handle. "Good he hasn't taken you out of town yet" "Can you answer me what's going on?" I ask again before I can get an answer Dimitri busts open the bathroom door "Ill tell you when I see you" my father says as he hangs up the phone. I look at Dimitri who looks very angry. "What?" I ask as I try to walk out of the bathroom but he blocks the door "What did he say?" Dimitri asks as he steps closer towards me. But I don't step back like I normally do cause the only thing on my mind was to go to my dad. Once he got close enough to where there was a slight crack in the door that I could slip out of I looked up at him then down at my feet. When he then starts to lean down towards my face I push him as hard as I can toward the wall on the side of us and I sprint out of the bathroom I run into our room and lock the door behind me. Knowing that Dimitri wouldn't be far behind I hurried and did what I needed to do I grabbed my purple duffle bag and threw most of my clothes into the bag until there were only a few shirts and pants in the dresser. I jogged to the closet and put on some black leggings and an oversized shirt. Once I walked out of the closet I could hear Dimitri starting to hit the door so I quickly hid behind the dresser beside the door once he bussed open the door he walked all the way over to the closet, good thing I left the light on. As soon as he walked in I ran out of the room and ran downstairs toward the front door. I looked in the dining room and Dimitri's parents were already gone. I looked up at the stairs and Dimitri was standing there looking at me then at my bag. He then realized I was leaving. I could see tears start to form in his eyes as he sat on the steps of the stairs. He looked down at his feet then back up to me. Suddenly there was no more sadness in his eyes only anger and numbness. One tear rolled down his eye before he went back upstairs. I walked out of the house and my dad was sitting in his same little car, all the memories from that car started flowing into my head I smiled at him then ran and got in the car. I threw my bag in the back seat and my dad started driving. "I've missed you, sweety," my dad says "I've missed you too dad, where have you been?" I ask as I turn to look at him. "Well, it's hard to explain, after Dimitri took you from me he told me to get out of town or he would kill you. So I did what any parent would do I left so that he wouldn't hurt you but then I realized that, he loves you and won't hurt you so I came back and I knew that I needed to get you away from him." I sigh and turn around to look out the window. Dimitri really threatened to kill me. I think back to all the laughs we had and all the things we did together. I feel tear start to come down my face. How could someone you love say they will kill you? I'm pulled out of my thoughts when we arrive at my house I see my car still parked in the driveway. Everything looks normal until I see men in white suits walking out of the house, I look over at dad who does look a tad bit scared and worried. I shrug my shoulders and grab my bag and we both get out of the car. My dad looks at the men and they all nod then look down at me and quickly look away. I wonder what that's about, I don't think about it much because when we walk into the house there are guns, drugs, and hookers all in the house and there was some low music playing. There are more bodyguards stilling in the kitchen and in the living room watching football or kissing a hooker. I look at dad and he looks at me "Sorry a few things have changed" he said "But I made sure your room was untouched" he said with a smile as if that made things any better. As I started to walk towards my room I noticed that all of the bodyguards moved so I could get through. Something was going on and I don't know what. As I was walking toward the stairs I felt someone grab my hips and I was pulled to a hard chest. The music all of a sudden stopped and all the bodyguards stood up looking at the man behind me. When I turned around I saw Leo the guy who tried to kill me.He had a big smile on his face and he looked different from last time. I tried to move but he only tightened his grip on my hips. He then let go of my hips and grabbed my arm pulling me up to my room. When we walked in all memories of me and Dimitri came flooding back. Leo let go of my arm then he turned around and closed the door locking it. "What are you doing in my home?"I ask as I try to stay calm. "Well your something Dimitri cherishes the most so yea," he says as he sits on my bed. I then realize that my dad brought me here to Leo but why? Leo pats my bed beside him indicating that I need to sit down. But instead, I grab my computer chair and sit in it. He shrugs and then leans forward propping his arms on his legs. He reaches his arms toward my vagina and I instantly close my legs shut but I realize that he was only trying to grab the computer chair and bring it closer to him "I won't do anything you do want me to do" he says. I let out a sigh relax in the chair. "What am I doing here?" I finally ask. Leo looks at me then down at his hands then back at me "Well see the thing is you and I are supposed to be getting married"
