Chapter 4
Katie's POV
I walk into my dump of a place. I know one thing for Joey never coming here if I can help it. I walk into my small living and set my purse down on the counter and walk over to the pile of blankets on the floor that I use as a bed I don't have any furniture and my apartment is a dump I have a small kitchen sink by my shower and 4 steps away I have my apartment size oven then in the closet is a small refrigerator. I bend down and grab my pj out of my suit case then I take a shower when that done I go to the tiny closet and grab my dress that I want to wear for our date and my outfit for work I then go over to my bed and try to get some sleep before the nightmares of my past take over.
Joey's POV
"Jamie I want a full back ground check on Katherine Mantella. I want everything from shoes size to favorite color is that clear." I say looking at my bother "Yes boss. Do you want one on her friend as well?" "no I'm not giving my heart to her." He looks at me shocked by what I just said. "Wow Joey are you in love with her?" "I think so little bother but keep it between us for now will you please."he smiled at me "yes I can do that know one will know but me promise. So when do you what it by?" "6 pm " "You got it" "oh and Jamie" he stop and turns back around to look at me "Yes boss" "I love you man you did good tonight." he looks at me shocked once more " damn she already changing you for the better love you too and thank you I'll take Riley home goodnight bother." "Goodnight bother" I went home an dreamt about my girl I can't wait to see her tomorrow.
Katie's POV
I wake up at 10 make my self some toast for breakfast with my tea get in the shower and do my hair and makeup for work then in my black tote bag I put my hair stuff my makeup bag,my black strappy high heels shoes, my clutch and my dress then I put my dress on for work on and my shoes I grab my bag and my purse and walk out my door to Lily's I knock on her door when she opens it "Hi Lily" " Hi Kat" " I don't need a ride home tonight ." I stand there looking at Lily wanting for the smartass comment back "okay" she say and I didn't get one. I wonder why she's going to get upset she said that Joey was so sexy so in her eyes he is her's I take a deep breath and say "Lily I need to tell you something." She looks up and says "what's that." Again I take a deep breath here goes nothing " I have a date with Joey tonight and he asked me to be his girlfriend." She looks at me with cold eyes now " what seriously your such a bitch you knew I liked him. You always want what I have get your own ride to work I'm done." " Really for 1 bitch I never want what you have that's why I have my own apartment with no furniture because I don't want shit from you and Joey was never your's so FUCK YOU YOUR NOTHING BUT A BITCH ANY WAYS." I walk out of her apartment and call Joey I hate to have to call him but I can't call a cab I have 5 dollars to last me the next 3 weeks before I get paid

Joey POV
I wake up and take a shower and get ready for work I get to the club at 11:00 I still have all the paperwork since Katie and I didn't get to it yesterday. I have been at this for a half hour to 45 minutes with my phone rings

"Hello"I say into the phone " hi babe I need a favor please"I hear Katie's sweet voice on the other end "what's that baby" I say with a smile "can you pick me up? I'm no longer speaking to bitch face Lily." My smile turns into a frown as I say with concern"I'll be there in a few minutes baby.what's going on?she's your best friend! I'm leaving now." " Okay and I'll tell you what happened with Lily when you get here okay see you soon." "Okay baby I'll see you soon bye" 10 minutes later I pull up to the address that was on her application this cannot be her apartment there's no windows and half of them are boarded up I can't let her stay here this building is a dump it's got graffiti all over it. I get out of my car making sure I have my gun I look at her mailbox to find her name and go up to her floor

I can hear yelling so I open the door to see some creepy guy screaming at her she's crowded on the floor in the corner" I already paid now go" she say with tears in her eyes "I want you I keep asking you out you keep telling me no so now I'll just take it." " N.....no.....d.....do... don't.....t...to....touch...m....me." she cry's now I'm pissed "GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER NOW." " I scream " Joey" Katie calls for me "yeah I'm here baby it's going to be okay" the creepy guy looks at me and says "who the fuck are you? leave now she's mine." He moves a little closer to her " you fuchen touch her you're dead! Do not test me this is my girl right there."I walk over to them and shove him away from her I grab her hand and not pull her up and hold her close. "Are you okay? did he hurt you?" She calms down in my arms" " n.....no..... ju... just....scare....me" "okay get your stuff all of it you're not coming back here." She pulls away and looks at me "Joey I have no wh..."I know she's going to say so I cut her off "Katie I'll take care of it just get your stuff if not safe here baby." this creepy guy has balls I'll give him that " she's not going anywhere." He says "the fuck if she's not." I watch as she closes her two suitcases and puts them by the door along with her tote bag. Then she comes over by me "everything is by the door can we go please." She says looking down and I know he did something to her "yeah baby grab your purse in your bag I'll get your suitcases and meet you down there. okay?" "Okay" she kisses me on the cheek then walks towards the door but the creep lunges at her I grabbed him by his ankle and twist till I hear the bone crack. "Ahhhhhh you broke my ankle."he screams out in pain "THEN DON'T MOVE" I watch Katie as she leaves the apartment she looks at me and I nod my head to let her know it's okay to leave she closes her apartment door and I hear the staircase door open and close I pull my gun out "YOU FUCK UP BIG NO ONE TOUCHES HER BUT ME IS THAT CLEAR. " "Who the hell do you think you are mister."he says angrily at me I give him a wicked smile "Mr. Joseph Gotti Jr that's who fuck head."I can see the fear in his eyes when he realizes who I am and I smile evil "now do you understand?" " Y.....ye...yes....sir." he says scared and he should be " It's a little too late don't you think."

" I need a clean up crew at this address Jamie." "Okay sending them over now. is she okay?" He asked I'm not sure how to answer this "she is now thank God" I put my phone away look at the creepy landlord
