6 5: **Mate??

Morning came unlike the usual. Gulf had difficultly opening his eyes because he was tired. Not only was his back hurt his whole body had given up on him. As he tried getting down from the bed his legs gave out and he fell to the floor

"ouch" Gulf said in a hoarse voice, he couldn't believe he had such a hoarse voice. Yesterdays act came in flashes and Gulf was red like a tomato. Using the bed as the leverage he tried getting up. He peeked over the bed and saw the bed was empty, where did Mew go off to, then he remembered what Mew had told him yesterday

"You threw yourself at me" Gulf gets a ting in heart but then again, what has happened has happened...

Gulf used every furniture that was available on the way to the bathroom so that he could support himself as he had no energy and bless Mew's soul who left him alone after what they did together last night.

As Gulf cleaned himself in the hotel he couldn't believe the amount of hickeys Mew had left on his body, there was no space that was empty and what Gulf couldn't believe was the fact that Mew bit him meaning that he bonded with him, but at the same time there were scratch marks over the bite mark like a common sign of denial between the denied mates...

"huh, I bought it on myself" Gulf said as he cleaned himself crying....

Getting out of shower he clothed himself, at least Mew had the curtesy to leave him new clothes after he tore his previous ones

Every step that Gulf took, hurt his back, it was like needles poked into his spine. He walked slowly outside the room and down the elevator to the receptionist to return the key

"The key" Gulf said

The receptionist took the key and bowed. Gulf left the hotel and took a taxi to his apartment. Before that he took a short trip to the pharmacy to stock up his inhibitors, home was next...

Gulf cursed himself for leasing an apartment that needed stairs to reach

"Ouch, ouch" Gulf cried silently as he took the stairs, opening the door he headed straight to the bed, forget college for today...

A day went by and there was no sign of Gulf in the college and his friends were getting scared as Gulf was not even picking up their calls, he had never bailed out before...

"I am going to his house" Team said as he met up with Champ and Aom as they meet again in the evening

"We are coming along"

"Lets go" Team and the boys went and knocked on Gulfs' door, but there was no response

"Gulf, open up it's me" Team said banging on the door. The neighbors got irritated and told Team to stop the banging.

Champ went to the security and asked for access as his friend was not opening the door. Since the security knew the boys he agreed and opened the door. The sight before the boys was unbelievable

Gulf was rolled in a blanket sweating buckets, red as a tomato and shivering like crazy

"I am calling Tay" Team immediately called Tay, because Tay knew what had happened a day ago, he brought treatment along with him

"I'll take care of him, you boys step aside" Tay said, making the boys step back to allow for air circulation

"Is he alright?" A concerned Aom asked

"He is, don't worry" Tay said, injecting antipyretics and analgesics into Gulf's veins "He should be getting better, why don't you buy some plain porridge for him"

Champ and Aom nodded and headed out the door to buy the porridge

"What is going on" Team asked noticing the discomfort Tay was feeling

"He is having the after effects of rejection" Tay said shaking his head and showing Team the scratched bond mark

"What the hell?" Team said in the loud voice

"Calm down will you? He just relaxed" Tay said in a warning tone to Team

"How dare he do this to my friend"

"I'll talk to Mew, you don't interfere, this is not an easy matter and Mew is not a simple guy at all" Tay didn't want Team to be involved with Mafia at all "His fever will come down soon and he will come around, take care of him, I need to go somewhere" Tay continued

"Sure, take care" Team said as Champ and Aom came in with food for everyone...

Night fell and the boys stayed next to Gulf and took care of him, they slept next to him. Gulf stirred in his sleep as he felt heaviness on his sides, he slowly opened and saw his friends surrounding him, if his illness didn't kill him, his heavy friends would, Gulf laughed to himself waking Champ in the process

"Gulf, are you better?"

"Yes, I am way better, Thank you" Gulf was grateful for his friends to be there for him

"Go back to sleep, we will talk in the morning" Champ said putting Gulf back down and going back to sleep

Day broke and the apartment was cheery like always, the boys made breakfast, choose clothes for themselves from Gulf's wardrobe and headed to the college. As thanks Gulf invited the boys to his café on his account, the boys agreed to meet at 9:00pm....

Back at the office, Tay and Mew were in a discussion about the recent procurement of the medical appliances.....

"And that is the budget" Tay ended

"I'll approve it once you send me the quotation" Mew said

Silence filled the room as Tay stared at Mew

"If you wanna tell me something go ahead, don't stare at my face"

"He was affected by the rejection" tay said looking outside the glass wall

"And??" Mew said in the least bothered voice

"He is your soulmate, Mew" Tay said silently

"Was, I have rejected him, he also knows that" Mew said now irritated

"Don't deny fate, Mew, it will hurt" Tay reasoned

"Tay, I make my own destiny, no one writes for me, I'll mold my future" Mew said leaving the room and banging the door

"He is hopeless" Tay shook his head

Since Gulf had no classes in the afternoon he headed to the company to help Mild

"Good afternoon" Gulf said cheerfully

"Good afternoon, how are you feeling?" Mild said smiling slightly

"I am..."

"Tay told me, I am sorry, I should have known better" Mild said apologetically

"It's fine, let's get to work" Gulf said taking the papers from his table....

"Sir, I have your tea ready" Gulf said placing the tea cup on Mew's table

"uhmmm" Mew said looking at the table.... Minutes later when Gulf didn't leave he looked up "Do you need anything?"

"No, I am leaving" Gulf turned and left, even he didn't realize that he was in the CEOs' office for so long..

Gulf knew that as much as he hated alphas Mew was the only one he could tolerate.....

Weeks later, Mew was slowly opening up to Gulf, though they didn't communicate verbally there was an attraction that the both felt and their auras was suffocating their friends

"Can't you keep it down Mew" Mild said in a teasing tone

"Keep what down" Mew asked not understanding

"Your P-H-E-R-O-M-O-N-E-S" Mild laughed followed by Tay chuckling

"Nothing is out" Mew said silently

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say" Mild shook his head, he knew Mew was falling real hard

"Let's go out for lunch together" Tay said

"Sure" Mew said

Tay on the side note invited Team and Gulf. As the boys sat in the fancy restaurant, the three men came in and took their seat

Mild sat at the head of the table, Tay with Team whilst Mew unconsciously sat next to Gulf

Food came and Mew and Gulf ate in silence.

Gulf knew if he didn't make his move first Mew will keep on denying him. He lifted a slice of cake and placed in on Mew's plate

"You don't have do this" Mew said flatly

"Can't you just thank me and eat" Gulf said

The rest of the lunch was eating in silence......

Mew got a call and he left after that. By now Gulf had made his advances clear to Mew, even the people in the company knew that Gulf was Mew's soulmate, but they also knew that Mew had not accepted it yet, they were rooting for Gulf because, if there was a predicament and Mew was angry, Gulf was the only one who could calm him down. Behind Mew's back Gulf was teased a lot, Gulf didn't mind at all, a little fun is not bad

During his meet up with his friends, they couldn't help but ask

"Do you not hate alphas?"

"I still do" gulf answered clearly

"By Mew is ?"

"He is my alpha, I can't hate him" Gulf blushed like crazy

"My alpha" Champ mimicked Gulf earning a hit on his head

Back at the office, Gulf spend his time as much as he could next to Mew

He set the papers on Mew's table and set the tea touching Mew accidentally

"Don't touch me casually" Mew said irritated

"But it....." Gulf was cut short

"Just because slept together doesn't mean that we are lovers" Mew clarified, these words were enough for Gulf to shut his mouth, he expected a lot, didn't he

"I am sorry" Gulf said as he left the room

A month later, Gulf was working as usual in the office, when Mew called him in for some work

"How can I help you?" Gulf said

"Get me these paper works......." Mew was talking but Gulf was getting dizzy, he could see Mew's mouth but he couldn't hear anything, he tried speaking but he fell to the ground

"Gulf" Mew got up from his seat and walked towards Gulf and touched his forehead when Gulf slapped his hand off

"I am sorry" Gulf said feeling nauseated by Mew's touch

"Let me help you up" Mew extended his hand

"No, thank you, I'll get up on my own" Gulf stood up slowly and excused himself to the clinic

He took some anti-emetics and rested for 30 minutes and then headed back to the office

"I am sorry for what happened earlier" Gulf apologized to Mew and got the work that was assigned to him and went back to his office

Hours later Mild came to Gulf's office and knocked on the door

"Mild, come in" Mild walked in with a plastic bag in his hand "What is that?" Gulf inquired

"Medicine that your lover has sent to you?" Mild laughed

"Lover?" Gulf was confused but when it hit him he blushed, at least he cared "Thank you".

"Tell it to him, not me" Mild smiled

"I will"

"I will leave now, you continue" Mild left the room

Back in the college, life was going easy, midterms had popped up and the college was in study session. Gulf on the other hand was getting nauseous ever so often. Whilst in the library, Gulf almost vomited when his college buddy, Bright, helped him to the clinic....

"How long has this been going one?" The doctor asked

"A week"

After few tests, it was declared that Gulf had a viral gastroenteritis (a.k.a stomach bug) and he was told to take occasional rest whilst he was preparing for the exams. Bright helped Gulf as much as he could during these moment. Even though Gulf denied Bright because he was an alpha but he assured Gulf that he had a mate and would, by no means harm Gulf. This brought the boys closer than ever...

"Call me if you need my help" Bright said as he dropped Gulf home

"Thanks for your help" Gulf waved as Bright drove away.

Unknown to them both someone was taking pictures of this interaction.... This would come handy, thought the cameraman

The next day Gulf took off from the company for a few days until this bug would settle down and it did. The exams went in full force and Gulf was thankful that he could cope with his situation....

Mew started becoming lenient towards Gulf.... He would take him out for lunch, coffee, dinner and at times even get breakfast delivered to his office. Mild couldn't believe that he was the same man who said that he would control his destiny...... little did Mild know that he was still wrong.

One night at the party attended by shareholders, Mew invited Gulf to it... usually at parties as such one would usually announce their mate to the executive so Gulf had his hope up..... since Mew was doing all this for Gulf, Gulf couldn't believe that Mew was finally accepting him....

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for attending, I would like to invite the CEO to give a few words, please welcome Mr. Mew Suppasit" clap clap clap

"Thank you everyone " Mew started "..................... finally" Mew was concluding his speech "I would like to invite someone special in my life to the stage..." he paused, and made eye contact with Gulf and gave him the biggest smile and turned to the rest of the audience

Gulf took a step towards the stage when someone bumped into him "please welcome Puifai, the love of my life" as he said that a girl bumped into Gulf.

Oh, so he was looking at Puifai, the girl that was standing behind Gulf, did he expect too much...

She walked up to the stage and hand in hand Mew and Puifai walked to the center of the stage

"She has been an amazing partner, a continuous support ...." As Mew rambled on, Gulf left the hall, he couldn't bear to hear anymore... why did I even expect anything from him

Gulf sat at the edge of the circular fountain contemplating the past few days, he knew that Puifai and Mew were business partner and they might have been closer but the fact that he introduced her as a love of his life, it just tore Gulf apart... he could feel his nausea building up and wanted to vomit really badly, but he held it in, not here.

"Why are you here alone?" Gulf slowly looked up and saw Mew talking to him

"Why are you not with Puifai?" Gulf retorted, Gulf was angry and Mew knew it

"I told you that I can't be with you, that is why I scratched the bond" Mew clarified

"Then what about all the ...."

"You are my brother and friend, and that's it, I don't like you and I will not love you" Mew finalized

Gulf was getting nauseous by the scent, minute by minute and the urge to vomit was increasing but he tried to control, he didn't want to appear weak in front of Mew

"Yeah, you are right" Gulf started "I hate alphas originally and we were not even meant to be, I hate you too, let's remain as friends" it look all of Gulf's will to spout the nonsense, he knew he was not even making sense

"What?" Mew was taken a back, deep down he felt hurt. "Gulf are you all right?" Gulf was visibly pale now

"Mew, where are you" a female voice came from far

"Go, your mate is calling you" Gulf pushed Mew towards the voice and headed off to a dark area where he could vomit in peace........

Mew's scent was no longer warm and comforting, it was nauseating and disgusting to Gulf now.

Why did this have to happen now?
