3 2: Soulmate

"Mild, is this the same kid...." Bosser pointed at the CCTV monitor #6, that showed Gulf walk up to the door of the club

"Yeah, he is" Bosser said looking at their boss sitting in the back smoking a cigar

Their boss then got up and left the room

Gulf went into the club and headed to the bartender

"What can I mix for you?" The bartender asked, wiping his hands

"The owner" Gulf said scanning the room

"We don't have a drink named owner here" the bartender laughed

"Where can I meet the owner" Gulf corrected him

"You cannot meet the owner without permission?"

"What permission?" Gulf asked genuinely

"You have to get in contact with the second-in-comman.... I mean his secretary first"

"Where can I meet the secretary?"

"I'll call for him, he is here today" The bartender picked up his phone and texted

Minutes later, a handsome, cheery man trotted towards Gulf

"You were looking for me?" He said "I am Mild, the secretary" he let out a small laugh after looking at the bar tender. Did Gulf miss the joke?

"I am looking for the Owner?" Gulf clarified

"Why?" Mild was puzzled

"I was to get access to the CCTV for day before yesterday 1:00 am - 3:00 am"

"Lets' talk in the other room" Mild said as he led Gulf to the security room. "You know that it is not easy to access the CCTV footage...."

"That's why I said I need to meet the owner" Gulf interrupted Mild

Gulf was not feeling comfortable in the room at all. There was a scent that was bothering him. This scent was making him calm and content, what was that.....

Mild got a ping on his phone, he looked at it and gave a confused look to Bosser who was sitting in front of the monitors.

"Let him see the footage, orders from above...." Mild told to Bosser, as he showed him the text

"So, the time that you want is..... " Bosser asked Gulf

"1:00-3:00 am, two days ago, entrance of the club" Gulf specified

"Give me a minute" Bosser got to work, but a couple minutes later, he stopped

"The CCTV was not working on that day, it was under maintenance" Bosser said as he showed Gulf the CCTV closing after 6:00 pm in the evening the day before the altercation

"Damn..... do you have any backup recorders" Gulf hoped he would find him

"Unfortunately, no, why do you need that..." Bosser continued

"Ummmm.... Someone helped me when I got into the altercation and I want to thank them"

"Oh! that was our...." Mild got a slap at the back of his head

"Your what?" Gulf asked, did they know something

"That was at our bar?, thats what I wanted to ask" Mild continued

"Yes" Gulf was disappointed "Thank you for your help" Gulf turned and left the club

Hours later when the three men were sitting together.....

"Boss, why did you delete the files" Mild asked his boss

"Since when did you start questioning me?"

"Just curious" Mild said

"Curiosity killed the cat" was all his boss said

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gulf would forever be grateful to who ever he was, he will remember this.

Back to his college life, days turned to months and Gulf's life was normal as usual. Part-time jobs came and went, he had accumulated enough to sustain himself and his family. Second year in his college, he made a big decision. He was going to lease a studio apartment for himself, close to his college, so that he wouldn't have to wake up early. Though initially his parents were against it, but after continuous persuasion, they agreed, on the condition that he would visit them once every week. That was not hard for Gulf to agree to, he complied to their request and they agreed to his.

It took him at least one month to find a spacious apartment that was close to his school, and in a neat and uncrowded neighborhood. Gulf liked silent places, he hated loud noises, it was his pet peeve.

Within a week following that, Gulf had shifted all his belongings to his house. His friends had also come to celebrate his big move, they alway though the Gulf would stay with his parents but he proved them wrong...

Mid-semester, the one of the places that he did part-time jobs closed so he had no choice but to look for another place, but finding a part-time job was not easy, he found a site for job listings and applied, for which mostly he was rejected, except one. Even though timing was not a factor for Gulf, but working hours from 8:00 pm -2:00 am, sounded a little sketchy even to Gulf. But since this was the only place that replied back to him, he decided to give it a try.

He was first called into the interview at 6:00 pm. His first impression of the place was amazement. This coffee shop was different from other shops. The café operated 24/7 but after 11:00 pm only people who had appointment were allowed. Gulf was made aware of these rules to know if he would comply with these. He didn't mind at all, he was going there to work, not to make friends.

The interviewer was not biased against omegas, that was a plus for Gulf, but he was severely warned of two thing.

Never to forget his heat suppressantsNever interfere with an alpha no matter what, if he was in trouble he had to notify the manager ASAP, not to deal on his own, NEVER

They were rules that could easily be obliged. Gulf was then given a 12-page contract that he carefully read and signed. The interviewer and Gulf shook hands over the agreement and Gulf could start working from tomorrow.

Unlike, other cafés where employees started in the hall, Gulf started as a kitchen staff. He was taught the different drinks and mixes. No, there was no sight of alcohol, the café didn't turn to a bar at the night, it remained as a café. He became friends easily with the friendly staff, there was only one odd thing about the staff. Some had visible scars, either on their hand or face. Gulf though interested, didn't dare to ask.

Juggling work and college life came at a price, but within weeks Gulf had stabilized himself.

"Gulf, how is work" his manager asked

"Going good"

"Do you want start serving the tables" the manager asked hesitantly

"Why not, that is what I started with in my previous jobs" Gulf replied with experience

"I'll see when that fits"

"Manager, one of the employees caught a flu, they can't come" the head of the hall said

"There is your opportunity" Manager said looking at Gulf

Gulf was ready than ever. "I'll handle the tables, rest assured"

Time flowed like river and struck 12:00 am. The manager called Gulf and told him some special guest would be coming and he had to be very careful around them. Gulf obliged and helped the kitchen staff as they were lacking man power and the orders needed to be ready

The door to the café opened and a group of people entered.

"Why does the cafe stink" a man said wrinkling his nose

"Stink???" Mild sniffed "It actually smells of coffee"

"I need to check with the hygiene department, how can they let the café stink like this"

"Boss, what if" Bosser started but shut his mouth immediately when he saw his boss glare at him

"Sure, let's go to our usual spot" Mild led them to the second floor that had in depend room that could be used as private booths

"I'll get our usuals.... okay" he did one over at everyone and then went downstairs to order

.

.

.

.

"I'll order the usual" Mild said texting on his phone

"Usual??" Gulf said

"Yes, usual" Mild said irritated now as he looked up. "oh you! are new here? Wait I know you, aren't you that CCTV kid"

"Your order is?" Gulf said ignoring him

The manager came running and apologized on behalf of Gulf, "He is new here, ignore him, please, I'll put in your order"

"It's fine, he will do it" Mild said and gave his order in detail. No wonder the boss was irritated, it was his scent...

"Don't forget it the next time, I'll not repeat it, get it to room 15 once it is ready" Mild said winking at Gulf

"But...." the manager was about to say something but Mild's glare cut him off

"Order 15 ready", announced the kitchen staff. Gulf set the drinks on the tray, 2 americanos, 2 espresso and 1 milkshake.

He took one step at a time in order not to spill the drinks. He headed to room 15 and knocked on the door

"Come in " a familiar voice said.

It was a matter of opening the door that a familiar scent crowded Gulf's nose, he tried to be as professional as he could be but he was failing

"I have the drinks" Gulf announced, placing the tray at the edge of the table and turned to leave as quickly as possible.

"Wait" Mild stopped him in his tracks "We placed a bet that you will place the drinks in front of the rightful owners"

"That's your bet, not mine" Gulf said turning to Mild

The room was getting suffocating for Gulf minute by minute and he didn't want to stay there anymore

"Do it" a voice resonated making Gulf make eye contact with the person who said it....

He unconsciously complied, as unwilling as he was his body moved against his wish

He picked up the americano and placed it in front of Mild, and the guy sitting next to the one who gave him order. He placed the espresso in front of the guy who ordered him and the one next to Mild, his last guess what the easiest, he placed the milkshake in front of the guy who was the smallest, earning glares in return. Was he wrong ...

"I am done, can I leave?" Gulf said

"Don't you want to know how you fared" Mild asked laughing like crazy

"No, I would like to go back to work" at this point Gulf was having problems breathing

"I told you to learn the order so that you don't mess up next time, so stay and observe" Mild said in a slightly irritated voice "You messed up the wrong persons order"

Mild got up and placed the milkshake right in the middle spilling some in the process "This belongs to our boss Mew, put that in your head"

"Clean this" the supposedly Mew said to Gulf

Gulf took the cleaning cloth and proceeded to clean the spill, as he stood next to Mew

"It stinks" Mew said

"It's a new cloth" Gulf said looking straight at Mew. He hadn't noticed Mew clearly before, but now that he observed his facial features, he was more than stunning. He was unconsciously drawn to Mew's face

"You stink" Mew brought Gulf back to reality

"So do you..." Gulf retorted back to him stunning Mew in his spot

No one would dare talk to Mew this, not even his second-in-command would dare to speak while maintaining eye contact. Gulf was the first and Mew made sure he would be the last....

The single piece of sanity the held Mew in his seat was because he knew he was his bonded mate..... more like soulmate, Mew felt it the day his body unconsciously protected Gulf from those guys outside the club..

Mew never believed in fate or destiny, it was a joke to him. He didn't want anyone controlling his life, he controlled his life and future. Destiny can go f*** itself. He would never bond with Gulf, no matter what, no one could force him.......
