Chapter 1: First Sight (Part 1)

January, 2nd 1975

10:08 PM

A car stopped in front of an empty building. "Are you having a plan, Henry!?" Henry took a glance at her.

"I have a plan, trust me." He got out of his car the girl next to him followed her. They looked at the building in front of them.

"What are you waiting for!?" Henry pulled her hand they run get inside of this building.

"Henry," Henry locked the door and put objects he found inside the door handle.

"Shit!" He accidentally cut his finger. Henry saw a lot of cars surrounded the building.

"What's wrong?" Henry ignores her. She approached Henry and patted his shoulder.

"Henry. Why you did not answer me!?" She widen her eyes and covered her mouth as she looks at in front of her. Henry took a deep breath, and he gave the money bag to her.

"No, don't…" He puts his finger on her lips.

"listen to me," He said. "Hide in room 308 until they were gone." She shook her head.

"No, don't, please… stay with me," she said, as Henry wiped her tears.

"They won't stop until I died, Maria! There's no other choice!" Maria shook her. Tears come from her eyes.

"There's always a choice, Henry! We can hide, right!? You know the guy who can forge our document, w-we can flee from this country and start a new life!" Henry shook his head. Maria strolled back while she shook her head.

"I know Vito, Maria! He won't rest until one of us died! He wants it, and he will get it! No matter how hard it is, he will get it, by his way! We both know that!" Maria palmed her because she felt overwhelmed by these choices.

Maria took a deep breath and stared at Henry. "Let's we died together!" Henry shook his head.

He saw a pipe, then picked the pipe. Henry block Maria's ways to get out from the building. "Maria Salvatore, please listen to me!" A megaphone sirene heard from the outside of the building. Henry took out his gun and gave his gun to Maria.

Maria burst into tears as Henry cupped her cheek and said, "I need you to live!" Maria grabbed Henry's hand.

Henry hold her hand tight and gave her persistent look. "I don't want you to die, Maria, please." Henry wiped her tears.

The couple bid their farewell through a kiss and tears. Henry hugged his girlfriend tight and kissed her forehead a little longer. "I love you," he said. They looked into each other's eyes.

Henry stroke his girlfriend's hair and he smiled at her. "Can you do me a favor?" He rubbed Maria's abdomen. He furrowed his brow. "Are you pregnant?" Maria nod.

"That's the reason, Henry. I'm pregnant with your child!" Henry took a deep breath and looked at her.

He stared at Maria's face and kissed her lips before he turned himself to Vito. "You deserve someone better, Maria. Neither me nor Vito," Maria shook her head and hold Henry's hand tight.

"Please, don't go…" Henry let go of her hand and pushed her back. Maria did not give up easily. She followed Henry to the entrance and blocked him.

Tears come to their eyes as they look at each other. "Move!" Maria shook her head. Henry pushed Maria aside and opened the door.

Fate separated them because they do something forbidden. Henry and Maria fell in love when she married. Luckily for Henry, he doesn't have a woman in his life, except Maria.

"I love you, Maria, and I always do." He said. Henry closed the entrance and locked Maria in that building.

All of Vito's henchmen load their gun and were ready to fire.

"Vito! Come out! You want me to dead, right!?" Henry got shot on his right leg.

Vito showed up in front of him with a revolver in his hand. Henry smirked at him as Vito shot his shoulders twice.

Henry gets up. He keeps walking towards him, even all of his body bleeds, Henry keeps walking.

He Grabbed Vito's shirt collar. All the 0people behind Vito pointed a gun at him.

Henry tries his best to not lose consciousness in front of his love rival. Vito squeezed Henry's shoulders and glare at him.

Vito clenched his jaw as they glare at each other. "If you tell me where the fuck she was, I spare you." Henry shook his head.

"No, I won't." Vito pushed Henry to the ground. He feels pain in his leg and shoulders. A rain poured the earth. Maria took a deep breath as she watched the gruesome scene from the building.

Vito punched and kicked him until a lot of blood covered on his face.

"Where's your respect!?" Vito asked, "where's your respect to your boss, Henry Montella!?" Vito's henchmen dragged him to the wall nearby and they made him kneeled in front of Vito.

"If I died today, Vito. I swear to God, one of your children or your grandchildren will fall in love with my one of from my bloodline. Then, the chaos inside your family will happen. You have my word. That's how I will pay my revenge," Vito clench his jaw.

Vito shot Henry's head. Not satisfied, he took his henchmen's machine gun and rain a bullet to his dead body.

A rain drip to Henry's dead body as the blood flowed to Vito's shoes. Vito looked at Maria, who was looking at them from behind the glass.

"Catch her!" She ran to the building stairs.

"I want her alive! Bring her to me!" All of his henchmen tried to unlock the door, but Henry bend the pipe perfectly. Vito, who was still in rage, snatched one of his henchmen and shooting at the door. He gets inside the building and, followed by his henchmen.

"I want all of you to sweep every single inch of this building! And if you found Maria, bring her to me, comprende!?" All of them nods and start sweeps the building.

Maria run with a moneybag in her hand, she heard a lot of footsteps from behind her. "Shit," Maria took off her heels and hiding inside room number 308. Maria locked the door and hiding inside the bathroom. She closed her mouth to muffle her cries and closed her eyes.

She mourning her dead boyfriend, and now she's on her own and the baby's inside her.

Vito smoking while he looks at Henry's dead body, and he took a deep breath. "You betrayed me, Henry. That's the problem." He said. He puts a pack of cigarette and his wallet inside Henry's suit pocket.

One of his capos approached him. "Do you find her!?" He stomped the cigarette.

"No, sir. I think she escapes through the backdoor, because all the door locked. Besides, this place was empty for a decade," Vito kicked Henry's dead body.

"You the cause all of this mess, Henry!" Vito punched the wall and looked at the building for the last time. "Let's we go home. I'm tired." Vito walked to his car.

Unknown Location, United States of America

February, 2nd 2022

11:03 PM

A woman punching her captive and took off her gloves. "I asked you once again, Mr. Fulham," she approached him with a scalpel. "Who was reporting me to the feds!?" She scratching his face with the scalpel.

Mr. Fulham screamed until his throat was sore. "I don't know, " he said. "If I know who reporting you, I-I swear I-I will i-informed you!" She put the scalpel on the table and took a deep breath.

"Y-you wouldn't h-hurt me again, right? A-are we still friends, Ms. Salvatore?" Mr. Fulham's face turned into pale when Julia wearing her gloves.

"You know," she wearing her gloves and looks at her prey, "people who betrayed our clan should be dead, right?" Mr. Fulham nodded.

"R-right. I-I'm loyal to you, Julia! I-I wouldn't dare t-to give you to the stupid government agency," she took a deep breath.

"Friend?" Julia picked her baseball bat and swung it in front of Mr. Fulham's face. "Friends never betraying to each other," she swung her baseball bat to his stomach, and he screamed.

"Okay, once again," when she was ready to hit Mr. Fulham, Vito appear with all of his henchmen. All the people inside that building bow to him as he approached her.

"Nonno, what are you doing here?" Vito slapped Julia's cheek and glared at her.

"Nonno…" Vito gave her his hand gun.

"Shoot him," Julia snatched his gun from his hand and shot Mr. Fulham's head without looking at him. She stormed out of the building and ignores Vito, who calls her name.

She gets inside of her car. "Why he told me to interrogate him, if he is the one who wants him to dead!" She put her gun inside gloves compartment and took a deep breath and makes herself calmed.

"She's old, Julia, everything will be okay in the morning" she starts the car engines and drove to McDonald's nearby.

She looks at the gas and took a deep breath. "I forgot to refill the gas." Julia turned her car to the left, and she stopped at the gas station. She got out of the car and she saw a woman who argued with a man. Julia ignored them and refill her gas. She took a peek and observed them.

She becomes annoyed when the man she argued with starts rude to her. Julia approached the man and patted his shoulder. "Knock, knock," the man looked at his back and Julia punched his nose.

Julia looks at the girl, not react and starts confused. "A-are you okay?" She tried to rub Julia's face.

"Y-yes, thank you. W-where's my dad?" She asked.

"Your dad was unconscious." Julia put her hand inside his pocket and took a deep breath. "Look…" her words interrupted by the girl.

"C-can you call 9-1-1? You can picked my phone on the side of my jacket." Julia scratching her hair.

"Can I know your name, Miss?" Julia holds her left arm, and they walked to her car.

"We have a car," Julia took a deep breath. She clenched her jaw and fist.

"Excuse me, ma'am. Your father is unconscious. Can you drive yourself home!?" She shook her head.

"Th-thank you," Julia did not respond, and she looked at her hand.

"You live on Abraham Lincoln street?" She nods. "Henry's Apartment. You know that building, right?" Julia nodded.

"I live nearby from there," Julia opened the door for her and sat her dad next to her.

She put her business card in her hand. "My name is Julia." She pulled Cecilia to sit next to him.
