47 Muffins As Heirloom Recipe

Amelia submitted the assignment to the professor with Derek, the professor stared at both of them suspiciously. Derek stood with both of his hands in his pocket, unbothered to even look at the professor whereas Amelia was staring daggers at the assignment, worried about what score they would be awarded.

"Did you both do this report assignment yourself or one of your minions?" Professor asked in a stern voice, making Amelia flinch. Derek looked at Amelia who had her shoulders drooped in nervousness, it was his first time to see her like this.

"Should I call my Fratello to reconfirm if we did this stupid assignment or if one of our minions did?" Derek outright shamelessly blackmailed the professor making him cough and widen his eyes in fear. Amelia snapped her head at Derek and glared at him, pressing her lips together as if controlling herself from cursing her throat out at him.

"S-Sir you can ask the botanical garden managers, we took permission and did our assignment by ourselves honestly!" Amelia said and sighed in relief when the professor looked convinced and after checking the report gave them a perfect A+ grade making Amelia smile brightly whereas Derek scoffed arrogantly at the professor.

Amelia and Derek went out of the cabin and gave a high five to each other for scoring a perfect grade together. Suddenly they realized what they did and stared at their hands. A light shade of blush climbed her cheeks whereas Derek rubbed his hair and looked away in shyness.

"Hey! Amelia! Come with us!" Milly, Sam, and Max came rushing toward Amelia, and she looked at them in confusion.

"Amelia don't waste your time here, come with us, someone has prepared a surprise for you!" Milly exclaimed excitedly while swinging Amelia's arm up and down in excitement making her frown in frustration.

"What surprise? Who is it?" Amelia asked in frustration, whereas a nerve popped into Derek's head, but he stood silent to listen to her friend's utter shit.

"You won't believe who is it! Just come with us now!" Sam said and started dragging her by her arm and she followed them to the place where they took her. Derek stood seething on his breath.

"These people...! Why am I getting angry!? I don't care about her!" Derek said and punched a wall pillar nearby and instantly regretted doing so as he winced in pain, but he decided to follow them in curiosity.

There stood a handsome, tall, and muscular man with all Amelia's friends chatting with them. He had hazelnut color hair, and he was so handsome that all the people passing by were staring their eyes out at him, few of them thought he was some celebrity or fashion model. As soon as Amelia reached, she gasped and ran towards him. He spread his arms wide to let Amelia hug him and they both hugged each other as soon as Amelia clashed on his chest. He picked her up and revolved her around while laughing.

Looking at this dramatic reunion, Derek stood with wide eyes and clenched hands in anger. Amelia had this bright smile, she never showed to Derek. The man named Romeo D'Angelo, let her go and made a fist bump with her while laughing.

"Amelia! It's been so long! How have you been?"

"I'm great, Romeo! How come you're here!?"

"Just some work and all... so tell me, how's the training going? Are you practicing daily?" As soon as Romeo asked her, she looked away and sighed. Romeo instantly understood by her lack of response that she had been neglecting her practice sessions.

"Didn't I tell you to attend regularly?" Romeo said in a strict voice. Amelia brushed her hair nervously and said,

"Well... forget it, I'll tell you the whole scenario later, first let's go have some lunch!" Amelia said excitedly, making Derek seethe in anger. As soon as they started walking towards the cafeteria, Derek came in between and kept a firm hold on Romeo's chest, stopping him from going any further. Romeo got confused and stared at him and back at Amelia. Amelia frowned and signaled him to go away, but Derek ignored her.

"Ohh! I see, he must be one of your friends, please come you can also join us." Romeo said misunderstanding on the spot making Amelia hold her forehead in frustration, while her friends were having fun eating imaginary popcorn and Derek scoffed at his comment.

"Well, I am so 'GRATEFUL' for your invitation..." Derek said while gritting his teeth and finally looked at Amelia, she shook her head saying no.

"So, let's all go together." Derek ended his words and smiled while staring at her. Everyone including Derek's friends who were tailing them went to the cafeteria, from 4 to 5 people it became a big group, so the workers had to arrange a big table, especially after gaining a good glare from 'The Derek', they prepared it in no time and properly served the dishes for everyone.

"So how's everything going? How's Gianna?" Romeo asked curiously.

"Oh, everything is fine... I'm busy these days doing studies and all, that's why training has been lacking behind. Gianna's doing good, she's recovering well." Amelia said casually. Romeo nodded and patted her back in a consoling manner, confusing everyone.

"Yeah I heard what happened to her, take care of her well, alright? After studies get back to the training routine." Derek gritted his teeth again and in a pissed and unfriendly voice asked him,

"Who're you to order her around? It's her choice if she wants to do this 'training' sh*t or not!"

"Chill man! I'm her trainer, obviously, I would be worried about her routine workouts. I was on a vacation with my wife, so I couldn't train her for around the last two months and that's why I came to know that she has been neglecting her training and that her sister had got kidnapped and all." After hearing his explanation, Derek released a huge sigh of relief not worrying about the audience staring at him.

"I'm sorry man, I misunderstood you," Derek said and scratched his hair.

"Well, no worries, but tell me, 'Who're you?' to be so defensive about the relation between me and her?" Romeo scored a huge goal and struck his opponent which hurt him the most. Derek looked at Amelia and Amelia looked back at him silently. Derek was the first one to look away from her and cough nervously.

"W-We're in the same team for assignment, so I was worried if you were her boyfriend, she might have got distracted from her university work, right?" Derek said and turned to look at Amelia expectedly, but she just scoffed and turned her attention back to her food.

"It doesn't seem as simple as partners to me though..." Romeo said slightly aloud, Amelia's friends coughed and started engaging Romeo in small chit-chat and gossip about their university.

Amelia looked up and saw Derek staring at her, and he seemed very lost as his eyes stayed on her. Amelia blinked her eyes twice in confusion and then threw a piece of salad on his face making him come back to his senses. Amelia scowled and signaled him to eat and pay attention to his food, not her.

Derek frowned and returned his attention to his food. Amelia finished her food and stood up to give her tray to the staff. Romeo took this opportunity and sat in Amelia's chair, facing Derek, making him confused.

"So tell me? I can tell you have something-something for her, spill the beans." Romeo said making the whole table turn their attention to Derek, making him scratch his hair in frustration.

"Just frien--"

"Friends don't get jealous over other men hugging their friends." Romeo taunted.

"Man believe me, we're nothing more than friends for now, though I want things to progress, I don't know how it'll happen." Derek said.

"You have to make it happen, it won't happen naturally doofus." Romeo said and everyone agreed in approval making Derek glare at them.

"What'll not happen naturally?" Amelia asked everyone as she stood holding her bag on her back, staring at everyone.

"Love." Romeo blurted out without noticing her. All the eyes went wide and Milly stomped Romeo foot to make him come back to his senses.

"Oh? So the almighty 'Mr. Famous Bad-Boy' has fallen in love with someone? Or is it just a one-sided crush?" Amelia smirked, teasing him.

"Why do you care? Mind your own business." Derek said in a cold voice as he stood up, leaving with his tray.

"What? Did I offend him?" Amelia asked everyone, all just shrugged in response.

At Moretti Mansion

Adam held the spoon near Brinley's lips to feed her muffins, he personally baked for her after many trials, but she didn't know it was made by him. She snapped her face away from the spoon and glared at the poor lights.

"C'mon love, at least give it a try..." Adam whispered as he moved the spoon near her lips again.

"Why're you wasting your time with me, go do your work which you love to do rather than spending time with me." Brinley pouted cutely, Adam was trying his best to control his laugh.

"Well it doesn't matter anymore, I can't waste my precious efforts in making these, so I might give these to my secretary, I have heard my secretary loves sweets." Adam exclaimed and placed the spoon on the plate while closing the box. Brinley gasped opening her lips in shock when she heard him speak about his secretary. Taking this opportunity, Adam instantly picked up the spoon and fed her. Brinley was surprised but soon enough she moaned as the delightful sweet muffin hit her taste buds making her crave for more! She smiled as she took the spoon away from his hand and taking another bite of muffins.

"Is it good?"

"It's heavenly!!"

"Well I will have to thank Gianna for letting me know the instructions in detail."

"You better! I'm forgiving you just because of these muffins."

"Well I should make muffins my heirloom recipe."

"Stop joking, here I was trying to be grumpy and all on you, and you dared to bring up your so-called secretary." Brinley huffed and took another big bite of muffin.

"Did you forget my secretary is male?"

"Still! You cannot do such things for others, only for me!"

"How could you get jealous with a man? Possessive much?"

"Very much!" Brinley laughed and Adam smiled at her antics.

Gianna smiled hearing their conversation from the lounge area, she knew their love was young, pure and sincere for each other. But a thought came into her mind,

'Is my love for Xavier real or is it a liking towards him for his care, respect and acceptance for me or am I just depending on him too much? No, no I'm stupid for thinking such things, how could I ever suspect my feelings for him? I love him dearly and I know he loves me too, but why am I getting such thoughts? Ever since I'm living here, I feel I am just being a burden for everyone...'

Suddenly the telephone rang, which was beside her, on side table. Brinley exclaimed from the dinning room, telling Gianna she could pick the call and ask who it is.

"Hello?"

"Hello, can I speak with Ms. Gianna Allen or Mr. Xavier Moretti?"

"Yes? Gianna speaking. Who is this?"

"We're speaking from Linoa Hill hospital, miss your reports are ready, would you like to visit the hospital this afternoon?" Gianna was surprised and took a deep breath to calm her nerves. (A/N: I changed the original name Lenox Hill Hospital.)

"Yeah sure, thank you." Gianna said and hanged the call.

"Who was it Gianna?" Brinley asked as she came to her.

"N-No, it was wrong number."

"Oh? But you said thank you to ther wrong number caller?" Brinley got suspicious but soon shrugged.

"Anyways, here taste these muffins, Adam made these for me, thank you for teaching him." Brinley said and offered her a muffin. Gianna carefully took the muffin from her hand and tasted.

"It's really delicious." Gianna said and smiled.

Gianna felt guilty for hiding the fact that she was visiting hospital without letting anyone know.
