8 Feel The Flowers

{Author's pov}

"Charlie slow down! Oof! Charlie, you're honestly not helping at all!" Gianna said she was exhausted. She rubbed her forehead and wiped her sweat whereas Charlie woofed in enthusiasm.

Charlie was sniffing around the apartment and dragging Gianna to clean the dust and wipe the place. Charlie loved this! But Gianna would end up panting a lot after finishing the cleaning.

~2 hours later~

"Phew! I think everything is clean now!" Gianna clapped her hands in excitement and ruffled Charlie's fur to which he barked happily and ran in circles around Gianna, making her giggle.

"Charlie I'll give you some extra treat for your hard work then we will cook dinner! What do you say?" Gianna asked as she crouched down to Charlie's level. Charlie woofed and licked her cheeks. Gianna giggled and cuddled with him.

Gianna gave Charlie his treats and then started cooking with ingredients and stuff she bought from the superstore. It was pretty crowded as today is the weekend, but somehow Gianna managed to buy everything she needed with the help of a superstore employee who guided her to buy whatever she needed. So kind of them. Gianna smiled at the thought, but she was aware of the slight ache in her heart if she was not blind, then she wouldn't need anyone's help, and she wouldn't be a burden to everyone especially Amelia... Gianna sighed and continued to cook.

Suddenly, Gianna heard the telephone ringing.

"Charlie! Bring me the telephone please." Gianna called out for him. Charlie was trained by Amelia if the telephone rings, Charlie has to bring the telephone to Gianna, and he was smart enough to learn the trick in just two days.

Charlie gave Gianna the telephone by his mouth. Gianna giggled and wiped the telephone by cloth.

"Hello, this is Ms. Allen speaking, who is this?" Gianna answered the call.

"Anna!! It's me!" Ami shouted through the call. Gianna sighed at her bad habit of screaming on the phone.

[A/N: One of my friends does this XD, she squeals in our ears when we pick up the call, soon she relaxes though]

"Don't shout, you'll make me deaf," Gianna commented to which Amelia scoffed.

"I will be back by 7.30 pm or so. I've to talk with the professor about my next assignment. I was selected by them as you helped me make a 'very good' assignment, so..." Amelia trailed off.

"You were given another assignment, thanks to me." Gianna completed her sentence proudly.

"Yeah right, thank you so much for this reward," Amelia said sarcastically emphasizing on "so" and scoffed. Gianna just giggled.

"Do you want me to bring something while coming back home for the guest?" Amelia asked Gianna. Gianna thought for a second and replied, "Bring ice cream. Okay bye." Gianna ordered her and canceled the call.

~ A Few hours later~

Gianna heard the doorbell, she sprang up from the couch and rushed to open the front door, she bumped into Charlie while rushing, but she just giggled and shooed him away from her way.

She was dressed in her new clothes, another floral dress she bought that day for the small dinner gathering. She didn't apply any make-up, as she can't see. She let her brown hair bounce on her shoulder. Summing up her looks, she looked adorable and beautiful.

She opened the front door and gave a billion-dollar angelic smile, Brinley squealed in excitement and pushed Xavier, Adam, and Derek away from her way. She engulfed her in a big bear hug and giggled. Gianna giggled along with her at her childish act and ruffled her hair.

"Oh gosh, Gianna you look like an angel sent from heavens!" Brinley praised her, Gianna blushed in response.

"I think you must look beautiful too. Come in, don't just stand at the door." Gianna said and smiled.

Adam, Xavier, and Derek looked at each other, they somewhat felt left out.

"What happened?" Gianna asked the three of them, they looked surprised as Gianna was still standing by the door waiting for them to come in. No, maybe now they didn't felt left out.

They came in and were surprised. The apartment was not that big, but it was very clean and tidy. With hints of girlish stuff like soft toys, photo frames, and cute wallpaper.

Gianna told everyone to make themselves comfortable and headed towards the kitchen, it was an open kitchen, connected with the living room. Derek, Adam, and Brinley took their seats on the couch, but Xavier remained standing. Everyone frowned at him in confusion. When Gianna came back with a tray with five aromatic teacups. She set them on the center table and looked around like finding something.

"One... two… three…" She whispered but it was somewhat audible to everyone. She tilted her head in confusion, according to her senses, there are only three persons around her, where is the fourth one?

Xavier lightly tapped on her shoulder making her jump in surprise. She sighed and turned around, she caught a whiff of his aftershave which made her cheeks turn a light shade of red.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't notice you standing behind me." Gianna stuttered and tugged a strand of her hair behind her ear shyly. Xavier seemed somewhat embarrassed, he brought his hands out which were hiding behind his back the whole time. He presented her with a bouquet. Gianna caught the whiff of flowers near her and smiled brightly.

"Flowers...for me?" Gianna asked in confirmation, Xavier responded with a yes.

"But, it was fine, there was no need of these, I can't see them anyways..." Gianna said and chuckled. Xavier didn't miss the sad expression on her face which vanished in just a second.

"I brought you these flowers as a thank-you gift, you don't need to see them, you can feel them. Am I wrong?" Gianna was surprised by his explanation, she didn't think that way at all. Gianna blushed and nodded. She took the bouquet and took in the fragrance of the flowers. She smiled and whispered.

"Lilies...pink roses and purple carnations!" Gianna whispered excitedly.

"How do you know?" Adam asked Gianna. Brinley, Adam, Xavier, and Derek looked at Gianna curiously.

"By the fragrance and their shape." Gianna smiled touched the flowers again before placing them in a white vase which was placed at the center table. She giggled as Charlie came near the flowers and sniffed on them.

*Sneeze* "Woof! Woof!" Charlie sneezed and then started barking at the flowers. Gianna and Brinley giggled at him.

"Yes Charlie you should stay away, pollen will make you sneeze," Gianna said and Brinley chuckled at her comment ruffling Charlie's hair.

Xavier and Gianna took their place on the other couch.

"Gianna... I want to apologize for that day." Derek piped up suddenly. Gianna smiled at Derek.

"It's alright, younger ones always tend to make mistakes," Gianna said and giggled.

"How old are you?" Derek asked her to which she responded 21 years old.

"I'm also 21," Derek commented this made Gianna blush in embarrassment.

"Where is your little sister by the way? I am very eager to meet her!" Brinley said excitedly.

"Oh, what time is it?" Gianna asked her she replied, it's 7.25 pm.

"She will be here in five to ten minutes," Gianna replied but then the doorbell rang.

*Ting Tong*

*Ting Tong*

"Oh that must be her," Gianna said but Brinley told her to wait, she will get the door. Gianna just nodded and smiled towards her voice.
