14 A Park Visit With Xavier

{Author's pov}

~At school~

Amelia was going towards her building when she noticed footsteps following her. She stopped in her tracks and turned around.

*Bump*

"Huh? Why did you stop walking suddenly?" Derek asked Amelia in a cool and calm voice.

"... Seriously? You're asking me that? You should know that I'm supposed to ask YOU, Why are you tailing me like a dog?" Amelia sharply snapped at him, making him chuckle in amusement.

Amelia gasped and said, "You thought it was a joke? Sorry to inform you, buddy, it was not." Amelia smirked and crossed her arms confidently like she won the match against him.

"I'm a dog," Derek said with a triumph smile on his face. Amelia stared at Derek like he has gone insane.

"I'm a dog, so I can bite you right?" Derek said as he moved a little close to her. He caught hold of her arm and tugged it behind her back, making her move even closer to him.

"W-WHAT a-are you d-doing!? Let me go! People are watching! Ugh!" Amelia screamed as loudly as she could.

"Ah you're being a bit noisy, anyways don't mind them," Derek said as he tugged a lock of her hair behind her ear.

"You crazy maniac! Leave me alone!" Amelia shouted at Derek as she flung her arm from his hands and ran away at full speed. Derek stood there blankly chuckling and staring at her as she was running away from him. It was interesting for him to observe her crazy and natural way of reacting to him, other girls would always try to cling on to him and seek his attention but Amelia...she's something very different, unique, and brave woman.

~In the car~

"Gianna, if you don't mind, would you like to come with me somewhere?" Xavier asked Gianna. Gianna clutched the hem of her dress and responded with Sure.

"Okay, it'll take a while, but we will be there soon," Xavier informed her making her silently nod.

~After a while~

"We're here," Xavier said as he rushed to help Gianna out of the car.

The Sweet fragrance of flowers made Gianna smile brightly, as soon as she came out of the car. "Are we at a garden?" She asked as she could sense the sweet and beautiful fragrance of flowers from nearby. "We can say it's a garden...yes," Xavier answered her question awkwardly as he never came to a place like this with a woman before. Gianna soon heard children laughing and running around playing together. "Oh...it's a park. Wow, I hardly get a chance to come to places like this." Gianna said making Xavier scratch his head as if he was in a deep thinking process.

"If you want, we can come here daily," Xavier said making Gianna laugh at his comment. "It'll be hard for me to close my coffee shop daily," Gianna said. "Oh haha, that's true," Xavier said and chuckled. Gianna felt few stares towards her, so she looked around. "What happened?" Xavier asked her. "Oh, I think we're being watched, I can feel the stares of some people," Gianna said making Xavier raise one of his brows. Xavier looked around and spotted his men scattered all around the park in their disguises to protect their boss from any harm. They are keeping a close eye on everything around their boss. "Oh it's nothing, just some people are staring at us, we might look good couples eh?" Xavier tried joking to which Gianna started giggling.

"Xavier, can I ask you something if you don't mind?" Gianna muttered after hesitating for a while. "Sure, ask me anything, I'll try to answer all your questions," Xavier said.

"Why did you, your sister, and your brother decide to become our friends?" Gianna asked Xavier making him think for a second.

"You mean...you and Amelia?" Gianna responded with a nod at his question.

"Well...before answering your question, you have to answer my question, why did you ask such a question?" Xavier questioned her back as he found her question strange to answer.

"You see... I can't see, so many people just avoid me, and they don't bother to even chat that much with me. Amelia has her own friend circle in her school, but she can't spend that much time with them as she goes for boxing practice and I suppose she also has a job..." Gianna trailed off in mid of her sentence.

"So people try to avoid you huh...? But that doesn't mean I'll also avoid you," Xavier said with a stern voice making Gianna look up from her feet. "You know...no one is perfect, even I've some bad qualities, but that doesn't mean that I've no right to live my life," Xavier said, but Gianna just cocked her head in confusion. Gianna went silent for a while trying to think about what he said.

"Ah Xavier let's forget these things, I've to open my coffee shop by noon. Will you drop me at my house?" Gianna wanted to change the topic as she felt awkward, and he responded with Sure. Xavier knew that she was trying to change the topic, and she succeeded in that.

Xavier dropped Gianna at her house, she offered him to stay for a cup of tea, but he politely rejected by assuring her he would soon come by to greet her again. Gianna went in and completed all her chores for the day and got ready to open the coffee shop after having lunch.

Xavier also reached his office and called for Adam to report his schedule and upcoming meetings and business deals he has to work on.

Whereas in school, whenever Amelia and Derek passed by each other, they would start bickering and Derek loved to tease her until her cheeks would puff up red after shouting her whole voice out at him. [A/N: Such a sweet yet crazy pair of kids we have here XD]

Brinley was on her lunch break when she decided to call Gianna's coffee shop telephone.

"Hello, Good afternoon, this is Gianna Allen, how may I help you?" Gianna's melodious and sweet voice came through the phone making Brinley go blank for a few seconds.

"Hello?" Gianna spoke again bringing Brinley out of her daydreams.

"Gianna!! This is Brinley! How're you?" Brinley squealed brightly.

"Oh Brinley I'm good, you saw me today in the morning right? I'm as good as I was in the morning." Gianna said and giggled.

"Hehe yes I know, oh yes! Gianna! Can I come to your house for a night stay again? Please! Please don't say no! I'm so bored with those three old men! Pretty please?" Brinley whined like a 5-year-old girl requesting a new toy. Gianna giggled slightly at her childish behavior, she hesitated for a few seconds before answering, "Oh…umm sure, why not. We would love to spend more time with you Brinley, you're so sweet and cute." At Gianna's comment, Brinley blushed hard and informed Gianna about her time of arrival. Gianna told her to come to the coffee shop first as the house is currently locked. Brinley cheered in enthusiasm and canceled the call after chatting with her for a while.

Brinley was very happy and oblivious about Gianna's hesitation and weirdness. After school, Brinley bought some snacks, pizzas, and cold-drinks for her night stay at Gianna's.

Gianna used braille numbers and called Amelia's phone.

"Hello? Ami?" Gianna said.

"Oh, Anna...what happened?" Amelia said while taking deep breaths.

"Oh were you boxing? Am I disturbing you?" Gianna asked her in concern.

"No, no. Just tell me." Amelia said pressing her to spit out everything as it's rare for Gianna to call Amelia like this.

"It's just... Brinley called." Gianna informed her.

"So? Did she say something? C'mon, tell me what is it?" Amelia asked her again.

"Well...she's coming today for a night stay at our house..." Gianna trailed off as she knew what was about to come out of Amelia's mouth.

"What!? What the fuck!? Anna do you even remember what date is tomorrow!?" Amelia shouted at her.

"I-I know...she w-will leave by morning, I'll make sure of it. I swear." Gianna tried convincing her.

"C'mon Anna, how can you be this careless, you also know why I am being like this right...?" Amelia said and sighed. Gianna was silent.

"Haahhh forget it. Let her come, but make sure she leaves early by tomorrow morning. You know we can't be late tomorrow, we've to go there." Amelia said while sighing and canceled the call without letting Gianna speak further.

Gianna sighed and went back to her work.
