2 Prologue

Prologue

Anyone who fell in love was searching for the missing pieces of themselves. Pieces of an unpuzzled mystery and fragments of tangled destiny. That was why, we're finding for someone who can fill the feeling of emptiness, who can obstruct the void of our hearts and who can make us complete.

Love began in mysterious ways, the slow pacing gaze looking at his face, the stopping of time when your eyes met and the heart beating that drifted fastly.

That was the emotion I'm feeling that time, it was UNUSUAL but KIND.

I was at my tenth grade when mom met her bestfriend after not seeing each other for a long time. They had this little like reunion in a coffee shop in the city. Mom introduced me to her bestfriend wearing its kind smile. Compared to mom, she dressed simply but elegantly.

"This is my only daughter Diamond". Mom said.

"Oh hi dear, is school fun?" She greeted me and asked me about my school. Then, genuinely smiled at me. I looked at her and forced a smile.

"It's great". I shortly replied.

After that, I went outside the coffee shop because they were having a deep conversation and talks about their past. So for me, it was so boring and I can't relate to them.

I seated in a steel bars bench outside the coffee shop and waited for mom to finish talking with her best friend.

I understood mom because I had a best friend too. When we were together we were like twins that glued together and cannot be separated.

While staring at the street, it took me some time to not get my eyes over about it. Someone was passing in the street and...

Everything stopped in a moment as I took a glance. The glimpse in his dewy eyes, the serious face he made and that incomparable sincere smile.

He really caught my attention and his face tattoed in my head. I could never forget that day I saw him. It was the first time yet it was the last. I hope that some day I can meet him again even it was from afar.

That moment shook me over, that feeling excites me so tender and I hoped it won't last forever.

It was the day when my heart skipped a bit, when my heart throbbed a feeling of admiration and when my heart beated fastly.

It was UNUSUAL but KIND.

I wished for the stars that someday I will meet him again, to meet him again.

"Congratulations on your graduation Dia. We are so proud of you". Mom said and gave me a big hug. My dad smiled at me and embraced me and mom. We were this happy and complete family.

I graduated high school as one of the top ten from class but when my mom and dad told me that they weren't be able to send me to college.

I was a bit sad and helpless. I wanted to continue my education but I couldn't do anything. We were financially unstable and I couldn't demand from my parents about my desire because I understand our situation. They were trying hard to sustain our daily necessities and needs just to make sure that we can eat and had a shelter to live in. But it was not the end for me.

In fact, it was the start that I looked for jobs and will be spending money for next year to continue my study. I wasn't blessed with well-off parents but I was thankful that I have loving and caring parents. That's all I can ask for.

"You're hired!", says of a Chinese counsel in a household building that I am applying for a job. It's a good news that I was just hired right now and this will be my first job after completing my high school year.

I am Diamond Christensen and I'm in the age of seventeen turning eighteen this coming month.

Tomorrow, I will be starting to work as a personal maid in a mansion of a rich and wealthy family of Robinson. They used to own large masses of acre and land and they even owned tall skycrappers and facade. Isn't it amazing?

My family was financially unstable and do not have a stable job. My mother worked as part-time janitress in a small eatery who sold rice and chicken soups. My father was a helper in a corn plantation ten kilometers away from the town that we are residing.

Eventhough, we lack financially. We loved and cared each other so much. We supported and cheered each other. That was why I was raised with an optimistic upbringing. Even we were poor, we loved each other. And that's something I can be proud of.

I packed up my clothes and some necessary things that I can use because my jod required me to stay in. It was the beginning of my new journey to work for my future dream and to help my parents. I knew to myself that they didn't want me to work because they had big dreams for me but I insisted because I saw with my own eyes how they were so hard up in raising me.

School will be starting on Monday, so I decided to find a job because my parents didn't had enough money to enrol me. It was like my desire to go to college was bigger but I saw my parents having a hard time in sending me that's why I will look for a job and earn money to get a good education.

I had this dream with me since I was a kid, I wanted to be a teacher because I wanted to be an inspiration to some one who used to be liked me.

I am starting my job as a maid in a huge mansion of a well-off family of Robinson.

And slowly, my life started to change meeting my boss for the first time.
