The thought of having to inflict pain on herself was humiliating. Her hate of needles and doctors stemmed from experiences of her childhood. Her eyes became steely with bitterness as memories flutter before her mind's eye. The smell of sterilization and fear walfs like it was just yesterday. Her blood boiled with each conversation with her doctor. The doctor from the past echoes angry unsettling facts at her patent. Who does she think she is? Ma'am X feels a stabbing pain in her head and she groans. All they care about is their facts, figures, and bullying patents to stay under their power. Ma'am X knew that she was put to the front lines to be tested and tried constantly. She always knew it would be a hard task finding someone who was compatible, compassionate, and unconditionally loving. Living with Diabetes is likened to dating your condition and having to take it home with you at the end of the day. You can't divorce it, but live with it constantly. Ma'am X's fate was written for her at an early stage. She could only leave the Stage but for a little while but reappear soon after. When she was but a child, she had pearly skin that became scarred. She cried silent tears knowing that she could never be perfect. With each hellish site change, her skin became a celestial map. Time healed the once pink puffy scars, and made them into the milky way. What she was not aware of was that her insecurity of her scars would one day enhance her natural beauty tenfold.
