6 Possible...Not Possible

Daniel was now working on his office documents & occasionally typing on his laptop. A little shadow was standing outside on her own accord whose poor heart had suffered a huge blow. Eddie, his young sister was standing there in a daze, supporting herself with the doorknob. Oh her poor heart couldn't take it anymore!

She left the room immediately & sat down heavily on the crouch. She thought back to the events when she barged into her brother's study room. He was just working on his laptop when a sudden smile brightened up his face. Not a forced smile but a genuine He kept on smiling the entire time. This big brother of hers was smiling. He was actually smiling! Poor Eddie sat there in a daze. Her big brother wasn't a cold person but someone who generally to himself. The fact was that he spoke less & avoided interactions, especially interactions on social media. And there he was sitting, smiling at his laptop! Are you kidding!?

Poor little Eddie was still in a daze when she snatched a freshly plucked flower from a nearby vase. She began plucking the petals, chanting, "Possible...not possible...possible...not possible..." Nobody knew what she was thinking.

The first flower ended with a 'possible'. She shook her head & took another flower & started chanting. All the flowers in the vase ended with 'possible'. Possible? Not just a coincidence? Maybe, God might have shown some mercy & grace upon this brother of hers!

"What did you do to my precious babies?", Daniel grunted with disappointment. Eddie cocked her head to a side & looked at him intently, "Are you okay, bro?"

"Nope!"

"Why? What's wrong?"

"You murdered my precious babies!", Daniel pointed at the heave of petals under the center table. 🥀🥀

"That's your fault!", Eddie pouted after making sure her brother was okay.

"My fault? How so?"

The old butler saw their childish bickering & felt warm inside.

When her brother left after their hearty bickering session, Eddie was still feeling tense as she plopped down on the sofa & closed her eyes. The old butler noticed her tensed face & approached her, "What's wrong, Young Miss?"

"Have you ever seen Bro smiling at his laptop?", she answered with her closed eyes.

"Not really, but according to his assistant", the butler seemed amused, " He's been daydreaming & smiling, lately. At his office."

"What? Daydreaming? Smiling at work? Are you kidding me?"

"No, it's true. The assistant has been by his side for years."

"Don't tell me he's fallen for someone online?"

"Young master isn't an easy person. It isn't easy to fool him. Besides, when did he ever have an account on any of the social media platforms?"

"Hm...anything you wanted to say?"

"The old master & madam wants both of you to visit the family mansion today for their 25th anniversary."

These words made Eddie fall into a daze. To be exact, Eddie & Daniel were blood-related but not on their mothers' side. Daniel's mother committed suicide for some reason many years ago. At that time her mother was their father's assistant & was married into the family later. Eddie never understood the reason why Daniel disgusted the very core of her mother's existence. But she never asked him because she knew he loved his little sister dearly & she never once wanted to hurt him.

After accomplishing the first step for the befall of BLISS, Alice was on an online search for a new house. Sooner or later, she needed to leave the apartment provided by her previous agency. She scrolled through many websites & saw many of them, but couldn't find anything worthy of her budget. She scratched her head in disappointment. Just then her phone rang with an unknown number. She answered it immediately, thinking of the last time.

"Hello?"

"Are you done playing?"

Alice recognized the voice & a warm smile spread across her face. Even her voice carried hints of her bright smile, "Mm."

"Paid your compensation already?"

"Mm."

"Are you going to sign our contract now?"

"Mm."

"Let's meet for lunch today, then."

"At the same place like the other day?"

"Mm", Daniel mimicked her voice.

"Okay, let's meet."

"Mm...bye!"

"Bye!"

After hanging up, a silly grin found a place on Alice's face.

Daniel hanged up the phone while a warm grin played on his face. Just then, a knock was heard at his door. He answered it, "Come in."

Eddie was again taken aback when she saw her brother talking on the phone & smiling. Ah! What a sight! She cleared her throat & said cautiously, "Dad asked us to attend their 25th anniversary at the family mansion." She finished in a single breathe. Daniel's warm face turned cold but she controlled his emotions, "I'm not going."

"Oh!", Eddie's voice fell. But noticing her gloomy face, Daniel finally said, "I've lunch with my client now. I'll attend the dinner after I'm done with it." Ah! I hope it never ends!

"Okay", Eddie smiled happily. At least he agreed! Then she marched out of his room & started preparing for the day.

After that, Daniel pulled out a blue tuxedo which he rarely wears.

Moments later, when Eddie was busy arranging the vase with a new set of flowers, she saw Daniel coming out of his room in a full blue tuxedo, which she never saw him wear. She scratched her head. Ah! Is he going for lunch with a client or his first date?
