4 Day dreaming virus

Daniel was busy sipping his coffee while looking at some documents when a flood of warm light brushed his handsome features. His thoughts wandered back to the day when Alice accepted him.

It was a bright spring day.

"Alice, a guy wants to propose you. He's standing behind that pillar", Peach pointed her chin towards his direction.

"Tell him to beat me at karate first", Alice viciously cracked her knuckles before shoving them inside her jacket pockets. Daniel beamed from behind the pillar as his thin lips curved into a smirk.

"But why?", Peach asked.

"If a boy can't protect his girl, he's no right to be with her, right?"

"Oh my! He's gonna die", Rose whispered to Sofia. Alice walked ahead leaving her friends worried sick. Suddenly, a boy jumped in front of her wearing the school shirt-pants-jacket, "I'm ready."

"That's him", Sofia yelled from her back. Alice scrunched her eyebrows. Looks? Not bad! She walked past him, "Follow me."

"Huh?",Rose swallowed hard but the boy followed behind her. They didn't waste any time & quickly followed behind. The whole school was alarmed! Alice had challenged a boy in karate & he accepted easily! Did he get a death wish? Immediately the school ground was filled with students to see for the boy's doom.

Daniel smiled but soon his expression turned sour when she remembered how the four girls were great with each other. How did they betray Alice so easily? He sighed.

A girl & a boy were standing facing each other at the school ground. Everyone was anticipating the result.

"Make your move", Alice commanded unhurriedly. The boy squinted his eyes before plunging towards her at a lightning speed. She dodged away & blinked a few times. Not bad, boy! Daniel halted in his steps before turning & flying into her again. This time his hand struck an inch away from the girl's face making a whacking sound through the air. She faced him & called out, "Only that much?"

The boy smiled & before Alice could realize, she was already on the ground & the boy was on top of her. Everyone was shocked! Did he already do it? The boy was staring intensely at her while she looked shocked, "What...what did you...How did you...did you do that?" How did he pull off the hypnotic attack? Unless he's a professional. Obviously, it had to be someone like her.

The boy smiled & got up before pulling her up from the ground. She said in a shaky voice as her face flushed red," I surrender. You're great for me." She was not very good at expressing but that was a lot for her to say. She only understood the language of punches & kicks & this boy seemed perfect for her already. The school ground broke into thunderous applause when the boy pulled the girl into a hug.

Daniel was smiling sheepishly when a voice was raised, "Sir, are you listening to me?" His assistant had been knocking his door constantly without any reply. When he barged in, he saw his boss smiling in a daze. Smiling? He was actually smiling! 😲

"Sir, are you okay?"

"Huh?"

"Sir, these documents?"

"Lin, tell me. Am I daydreaming a lot?"

"Huh?", his boss called him by his name. Am I dreaming?

"Tell me", Daniel continued sheepishly.

"Oh that...no...I'm mean", Lin stammered confusedly.

"Speak the truth", Daniel added sternly.

"Yes", Lin replied hurriedly.

"Hm...bring me the documents."

What? He was not mad at me! Oh my! my spring has come. 😃🤩 Lin, the assistant, was dead from the happiness that he didn't reply immediately like he usually did.

"Lin?", Daniel squinted his eyes.

"Oh yes! They're here." The assistant was over the moon. Daniel narrowed his eyes while he checked the documents. Did he just infect Lin with a daydreaming virus? He shook his head & asked Lin a very serious question, "Did you do what I asked you to?"

"Yes, sir! This's a live stream", Lin explained hurriedly passing the tablet to Daniel.

The next moment, Daniel immersed himself in the video after wearing the given headphones. He saw the girl hailing a cab & driving towards B-town. Her cab passed the apartment but she didn't have the cab stopped. It stopped near a little alley, a little far from her apartment. She got down, paid her fare & walked into the alleyway.

"Listen to her conversation", Daniel commanded the man who was following her, "Don't get caught."

"Yes, sir!",the man whispered back.

The next moment, they saw a young teenager who was crouched down, feeding a cat. 🐈

Alice crouched down next to him & called out in a sweet voice, "Max!!!"

The boy raised his head & gave her a long side glance. Then he added curtly, "What?"

"I need your help", Alice smiled pleasantly as she could.

"What help?"

"I need money."

"Why?"

"Compensation for breaching the contract."

"What has that to do with me?"

"Help me blackmail someone."

What?! Daniel, Lin & the man following Alice were dumbfounded. Just dumbfounded!

Jenny was afraid that Alice would suffer a nervous breakdown again by seeing all these. Peach, Sofia & Rose were in a very pitiable condition. Just then, a phone rang breaking their silence. Rose lifted up her phone & answered it unmindfully.

"Hello?"

"Pay 8 million USD in three days", a voice commanded.

"Are you kidding me?"

"If you don't want people to know that you're behind Alice's downfall, then pay the price."

Rose froze when she heard the words "Alice's downfall".
