19 Epilogue - Lawliet

Here I'm laying in Light Yagami's arms. Looking at his grim expression. Knowing that I was right. He had been Kira all along. Memories filled my mind at times of days gone by, flashed before my eyes.

In the time that had passed, I've put a severely burned BB behind bars. He deserved it after killing the love of my life, including three others. It wasn't long after, when Kira arrived with the mission to rid the world from evil. A human being accompanied by a Shinigami. Killing randomly, by writing names in a notebook. I had him pinned down, from the very start, but even so he was a shy fox. He thought of himself as a God. A God of the new world, a new era_ where men feared to put a foot out of place. He made it his obligation.

I can still hear the bells ringing on that heartbreaking rainy afternoon. Her autopsy results still vivid in my memory. I hadn't just lost her on that fretful day, but our unborn child as well. Far and wide; I've been known as Ryuzaki 'The world's greatest detective' whim ever set foot on the Earth. But even so my story hadn't started until I blew out my last breath in Light Yagami's arms.

(While the team and I, were on the Kira case. We were forced to touch the notebook. We knew that we'll never be able to go to heaven, after touching the black book. We knew that we'll be doomed to walk the Earth for all eternity.)

Still, I could've never for seen it. I would've never imagined it; her waiting on my arrival. Standing there with a broad smile like no time had passed at all. Seeing her long white blonde hair blowing in the breeze behind her, as it whipped against her bare shoulders. Blue eyes the color of a cloudless morning. Millions of cherry blossoms shattered their shade upon her lips. She's just as fair as I remember. This lovely lady used to be my love. The rhythm of my heart. My life. She used to be mine. An angel sent from afar to rid me from sin. Who showed me what it feels like to be loved. I rushed over towards her. We fell into open arms. And as our lips touched, our spirits erupted into billions of cherry blossoms.
