Something more productive...

Giving them a small smile, Reno diverted his attention towards Ethan and asked in a low yet firm voice, "Ethan… Can I have a few words with you alone?"

Reno's voice made Ethan lift his head up and look at him. He could clearly see some curiosity in his suppose to be father-in-law's questioning eyes which was waiting to be get solved by him.

Nodding his head, Ethan replied, "Sure Uncle.."

"Okay then. Come with me.." Reno said, getting up from the couch.

Ethan too stood up and followed him out while the others just kept gazing at their back..

Garden area…

Both Ethan and Reno were sitting silently busy with their own set of work.

Ethan was looking at the whole garden with great enthusiasm and interest. While Reno was inspecting every move of him with keen eyes..

"Your garden is really beautiful, Uncle. It has every kind of plants, organised so skillfully that it was enhancing the beauty of the garden much more than expected.

The greenish color is also giving a refreshing vibe which can calm anyone's mind even if he's very much disturbed with the current happenings in his life.." Ethan said, inhaling the fresh air of the garden.

Reno smiled genuinely at his words and proudly said, "I'm happy that you liked it. Actually, it's Kathy who takes care of the garden, plants and every single saplings with her own care.."

Ethan's eyebrows arched up in eagerness as he asked, "You mean, Katherine also like gardening like me?"

"Seems like you too love plants and flowers like her. Well, it's a good match then." Nodding his head at his question, Reno replied.

Ethan didn't say anything but just smiled at pure amusement. He seldom sees any girl of her age having a hobby of gardening. Nowadays they were more interested in painting their face with lots of makeup and spending unnecessary money in parlours..

It's not like Ethan didn't like the idea of girls with makeup. But according to him, they should also spend their time in something more productive and make their own career to stand proudly like an independent woman.

He was busy in his own thoughts when Reno's next question brought him out of his trance as he averted his eyes to look at him..

"Ethan.. Are you happy with your grandfather's decision of marrying Kathy? You're not forced into it… right?" Reno asked with a serious face.

Ethan's pupils dilated for a second but at the next moment, he muttered with pure confidence and truthfulness in his eyes, "I know Uncle, what is the reason behind your this question. So, to assure you, let me inform you that…

No.. I'm not forced into this marriage. In fact, I'm happy that I'm getting married to someone whom my grandpa used to praise all the time and loved a lot. So, you don't have to worry about me treating her properly...

Before becoming my wife, she'll be my best friend who can trust me with her everything just like the way, I'll shower her with all my care and faith. I can't promise to not let any teardrops fall from her eyes, but I can guarantee you that I'll try to make her the happiest woman of the world."

Reno could notice the loyalty in both his eyes and words which made him thank the God to send Ethan in their lives.

Now he only wished for Katherine to accept the proposal so that she could live a secured life with a husband who would not only love her but also respect her every decision.

Smiling at him, Reno asked, "So tell me son… When should I fix your date with my daughter?"

A wide smile crept on Ethan's lips, hearing his words as he asked with raised eyebrows, "That means, I passed the test... right?"

Chuckling at his antics, Reno nodded his head and said, "Not only you've passed the test but also scored high with flying colours."

They stared at each other for few seconds as if trying to process everything and when they finally did, both of them burst into huge round of laughter which started resonating in the fresh air of the garden, making the atmosphere more pleasant…

Few hours later…

It was finally evening and the Jones family had already left after having lunch at their place.

Right now, both Sophia and Reno were sitting on the stools in Katherine's room, looking completely tensed.

Whereas, Katherine on the other hand, was staring at them with a frown on her face while sitting on the bed in Indian style..

"Mom, Dad… Are you both gonna keep quite for the whole time? Or, will you also tell me about the reason of calling me so urgently here?" Katherine asked, finally getting fed up with the irritating silence.

Sophia gave her husband a small nod of approval and Reno too returned it back with a little smile before turning his focus towards his daughter again.

"Princesss… You are already aware about the fact that, whatever decisions we make is only after considering about your bright and prosperous future…right?" Reno asked, arching his eyebrows at her.

Although Katherine was a little suspicious about their whole activities like exchanging few glances between each other or fidgeting with their fingers, but she still let it go and said, "Of course, Dad.. I know that whatever you decide for me is only out of your good wills."

Heaving out a sigh of relief, Reno continued, "As you already trust us enough to make any kind of decisions regarding your life, so we finally came to a conclusion. And now we want to ask something from you."

"Uhmm.. Okay.. I understand what you guys are saying. But mind to tell me, what is all this seriousness about?" Katherine interrogated, furrowing her eyebrows.

Taking a deep breath to calm down her nerves, Sophia finally revealed in a straight line, "Actually, we want you to go on a date with someone we've arranged for you."
