36 Bitter their relationship...

"Will you please stop behaving like a culprit of a thriller show now and reveal everything without stammering like a scared cat anymore?"

Understanding that she had unintentionally succeeded in making her best friend angry, Olivia could only give her a sheepish smile.

"Stammering? Who's stammering? I'm not fumbling with my words. It's just that your question was so sudden that it made me chock on my coffee..

Leave all of that now. You wanted to know nah how your dear husband got my number? So let me tell you about it right now.

Actually, on your wedding day itself, Ethan asked for my number as he thought if there's any emergency, he could call me anytime. And look, now I'm sitting right in front of you, trying to get you out of your boredom." Olivia said in a one go, trying to look as much convincing as possible.

Katherine nodded her head, finally convinced with the excuse that Olivia had given to her. But what she didn't know was that the reason Olivia gave to her was only partial truth, not a complete one.

"Hmm.. It's really possible. After all, what Ethan is doing from me from the day we got married, is enough for me to believe on whatever you've said." Katherine said with a soft smile.

On the other side, Olivia was feeling extremely guilty in her heart for lying to her best friend.

She knew that there was no place of lies and secrets between both of them. But she didn't have any other choice than hiding the truth from her at this moment.

Olivia didn't want to bitter their relationship just because of one big secret of her life which she had kept hidden from her for quite a long time now.

She was bound in that one promise with someone really special to her which had stopped her from revealing one of the biggest truths of her life to her only best friend.

Right now, she could only sigh and pray to God to let time take it's own course without creating any kind of difficulties or misunderstandings between any of them..

-----

Approximately two hours later..

Both of the friends were enjoying their time with lots of chatting, cracking jokes, pulling each other's leg mercilessly and laughing to their heart's out.

They were so much into their own selves that they didn't hear the sound of wheels rolling in the driveway, followed by a car honk.

It was only when the door bell rang, the duo finally came out of their la la land, making the realisation hit them hard that they had already spent more than two hours with each other, forgetting the whole world around them.

"It must be your hubby. Go and welcome him with a big kiss." Olivia teased her with a playful smirk, playing on her face.

Katherine rolled her eyes at her best friend's lame teasing and said dramatically, "I know, it's my hubby dearest. You don't have to remind me on how to welcome him, you idiot!"

"Oye hoye! Already so possessive over him.. Hmm… Interesting!" Olivia continued to pull her leg, earning a slap from Katherine on her back.

"Stupid!" Katherine cursed her friend and walked towards the door, only after sticking her tongue out at Olivia in a funny way.

Olivia giggled at her friend's childishness and waited for the couple to enter the living room.

-----

Opening the door with her brightest smile, Katherine chirped happily, "Welcome back!"

Seeing the glowing face of his wife, Ethan's lips also etched up into a big smile as he greeted her back with a soft kiss on her forehead.

"So… How was your day?" Katherine asked, taking his office bag from his hand.

Untying his shoe laces, Ethan said, "It was fine. But I really missed you."

Saying this, he immediately pulled her into a hug and she too reciprocated it with equal enthusiasm.

"You know what, I have also missed you a lot." Katherine too said with a charming smile.

Hearing her, Ethan pulled himself a little back from her but still kept his arms wrapped around her small figure before saying in a playful manner, "Oh really? I thought you must've completely forgotten me after getting your best friend to yourself."

Katherine just chuckled at his words and teased him back, "Jealous… aren't we? To your utter satisfaction, let me inform you Mr. Jones that, although I had Oly with me till now, but I still felt a little lonely without you.

By the way, thanks for calling her over here and also for purchasing the baking items. Today itself, I've checked the kitchen cabinets and found it out. Those were really of the best quality which I could have ever wished for."

"Well, you should thank some other person for this as it wasn't me who have bought them by my own." Ethan said while tucking few hair strands behind her ear.
