9 Chapter 9: He Didn't Even Look At Me

NONA'S POV:

He didn't even look at me. Not once.

Usually he at least gives me a smile. Instead, he smiled at Crimson. I thought he hated Crimson.

I consider sending him a text but really what am I supposed to say... I'm just his stylist. We're not friends and I'm definitely not his girlfriend. As much as I like him, he's never given me a reason to think he might like me that way.

I type out several possible messages, but I delete each of them. I want to know that he's okay, at least. He didn't look like he'd been in a car accident but from what I heard from the rest of the team, the accident was pretty nasty. He was definitely hurt. He'd spent the best part of the day in the hospital and yet when I saw him, he looked perfectly fine. Better than fine, he looked great.

Creed, are you okay?

I don't know what else to write so I press send.

For the next fifteen minutes I wait for a reply that doesn't come. It's eight am. He might still be asleep.

I'm lying in my bed. I haven't slept much at all, but I've got to get to work. Perhaps I'll get to see Creed today and he might actually smile at me, instead of Crimson. I'm not usually the jealous sort, especially when it comes to Crimson. She's my best friend. I feel like a total b*tch for being so irritated over something as small as a thank you.

I'm totally over-reacting and I'm fully aware of it.

Rushing around, I get ready for work. I've got to get my sh*t sorted if I'm not going to be late. I take extra care doing my makeup just in case I do get to see Creed today. I know it's silly. He won't notice anyway. He never notices.

Everyone else knows I like him, except him.

I check my phone every few minutes, hoping that he will have replied but he hasn't.

***

He's already at the label when I get there. He walks right past me, still no smile. Talking to Jasper, he looks cross.

Jasper hands him his phone and I feel a tiny bit of hope that maybe he hasn't seen my text yet. He doesn't even glance at the screen before placing it in his pocket. Then he's pushing past Jasper and into his father's office without so much as a knock.

Jasper looks exasperated.

I want to ask him what's going on but it's really none of my business. It's not like Creed is my boyfriend or anything. I turn to walk away when I spot the other guys walking towards me. Ziggy has a big grin on his face when he spots me. I return it.

"Hi Nona," he says. He's a bit of a cutie. "What you up to?"

"Not much. You?"

"Just looking for Creed."

There's a weird atmosphere around the lads like they've all fallen out or something.

"He's in with his dad," I tell them.

A flash of concern passes over Jett's face but then it's gone.

"We're meant to be recording the new album today," Jett says.

"You mean the one we still haven't written yet," Rigby retorts. "This is a joke. We haven't got time for this. Nona if you see him again, tell him to get his ass to the studio."

I nod but he doesn't see it because he's already storming away.

"What's got into him?"

Ziggy just shrugs his shoulders before following after him and the other two look at each other as if hoping the other one will answer for them.

I giggle softly as I walk away from them, going in search of Crimson.

I Hate This Lyrics

I hate this love song

Have I told you

I hate this love song

It's pointless to say

I love you

I love you

I've been trying

To win your heart

For too long now

I didn't give up

But now I know

There's nothing I

Can do, nothing

I can do

I've been working

Over time so I can

Take you out

But dating you is

A waste of time

There's nothing I

Can do, nothing

I can do

Because you don't

Even see me

You don't even

Know my name

You're blind to my heart

You're deaf to my love

And there's nothing I

Can do, nothing

I can do

Don't you know, there's nothing

Nothing I can do

That's why...
