6 Did You See His Face?
CHAPTER SIX
The next day was a sunday, Dawn and her roommate had left in the early hours of the morning for the school chapel.
I had stayed back. Aside from the fact that I slept really late the night before, I didn't usually go to church. Not like I don't believe in God, but church,that was something I haven't come to like. Maybe that's why all these were happening to me i thought.
I groaned bit thinking of how stressful the day was going to be. I had to go back to the school security office for more questioning and worst I had to go back to my room to get some of my stuffs, I sure as hell wasn't going alone though.
I lazily got up and dragged myself to the table my phone was, tapped the screen to see a bunch of missed calls and just as i was about to click the dial, a call came in. Dad!.
I cleared my throat and swiped the screen right.
"Morning Dad" I said.
"Amber how are you, are you ok, were are you, he asked rapidly with a tensed voice and for a moment, my mind flashed back to the events of yesterday, he probably must have heard.
"I'm fine Dad" I managed to say amidst his hasty questions.
"Did he touch you ?, Did he hurt you? , I'm going to sue the entire university" he yelled from the phone.
"it's ok dad, really I'm ok, he didn't touch me, he just broke in"
"That's not what the papers are saying, they said they found you naked" Damn the media! I thought.
"Come on Dad, they are exaggerating who are you gonna believe, the papers or the person it actually happened to"
"Ok if you say so" he said finally calming down.
"Do you want me and your mom to come over?"he asked.
"No!" I almost yelled. I was trying to wade off the attention on me, the last thing I wanted was my dad pulling up and bringing more spotlight on me.
My dad was a millionaire or billionaire, I didn't really care and yes he was kind of famous, so I was sure as hell the paparazzies wouldn't let him be if he came to see me. Luckily for me, most people didn't really know my face although I would have to thank my hoodie for that.
"I don't know why you like the dorm Amber, I told you I'd pay for any Lodge you wanted in any place in the city" he replied calmly.
"Dad you really think if this could happen to me at the dorm, it wouldn't happen off the school campus?" I said almost laughing.
"Yes I do, at least off the school campus I could make sure you have atleast two or three guys watching you"
"Eew Dad, you know how much i hate that and besides am fine , this could have happened to any one, I was just unlucky"
"Ok if you say so, but you ain't staying in that dorm in your final year"
"But Dad.....
"it's final Amber, you have a nice day, your mom would call you now, she's been worried sick, bye" he said ending the call.
That was my Dad, He wants it, He gets it and true to his words Mom called some minutes later and was all melodramatic about it, I seriously had to beg her not to come over.
I checked my dial for the missed calls, Crap! 37 missed calls, most of them from my parents and then Calvin, Charlotte, Lauren Parents and some friends I rarely talked to, two were from an unknown number. I dialed the number and the person picked.
An awkward silence occurred and then a voice came through.
"Hello it's me Amber"
I ended the call immediately, the voice was a bit shaggy but I was certain who it belonged to,Tyler.
He shouldn't be calling me I thought, he was the reason I was in these mess, if he had kept his balls to himself or given it to anybody but Lauren, then I wouldn't have left Lauren room in the middle of the night and get weaved into these exhausting dilemma.
My appointment with the school security was by twelve, I roughly had about one hour to prepare and I didn't have an iota of strength in me. I had received a mail from the university adminstration who offered their sincere apologies and gave me a choice to postpone my exams if u wanted time to recuperate, recuperate from what I thought and though the offer was appealing, I'd rather write my exams with my mates, the thought of writing my exams with a lecturer or lecturers invigilating only me was definitely not appealing.
I managed to take my bath, dressed my self up,in plain trousers and a hoodie I had gotten from Dawn, She had offered me other clothes, but a hoodie was just something I couldn't live without.
L I poured myself a bowl of cereal to munch when I heard a knock on the door, my first feeling was fear.
"who's there" I asked clutching my spoon firmly in my palms as I walked to the door.
"It's me, open the door" a voice I haven't heard before responded.
"who are.... I moved to reply when she cut me short
"Hey, I don't have much time, a guy outside gave me this to give you and I have a place to be now, so hurry up"
"I opened the door to find a dark skin girl probably my age with a medium size panda bear in her hands
"were did he give you this" I asked hurriedly.
"Just outside the dorm....
I didn't wait for her to finish and shoved her aside racing for the dorm entrance, I stood outside and searched with my eyes and found no sign of him. I walked back to Dawn's room to find the girl furiously waiting for me.
Before she would open her mouth, I quickly apologized and collected the items from her hands.
"Please did you atleast see his face" I asked apologetically.
"No I didn't, he wore a black hood and he kind of hid his face while giving me" She replied hissing and walking away to the entrance.
I entered my room with the panda and envelope in my hands and locked the door behind me, I sat on the bed hurriedly opening the envelope which was exactly like the previous one. I pulled it's content out and read
"Dear Amber,
it's really unfortunate we didn't get to enjoy our time together, we will meet again soon, I promise"
Mr Panda.
I closed the envelope quickly and with bit of anger,, angry at my helplessness. I stood up, walked to the drawer and removed the receipt from were I had kept it, fuck the school security I said to myself, I'm going to the mall whoever you are panda, today I begin my search for you.
