26 Chapter 26

Daphne took Logan around the building, first taking him to the place where he would get registered as a werewolf and receive a badge. As odd as Logan perceived the fact that he had to be registered after becoming a werewolf, he couldn't go against it since according to Daphne, he risked being killed if found.

Thinking about it, he recalled the werewolf they encountered back in their town didn't have a badge, although he was part of a makeshift pack, he was not a registered werewolf. He didn't even know he was a werewolf to begin with.

After getting registered, Daphne took him to what looked like a library, here, he could read all about werewolves, and other supernatural creatures in the world.

Opening the book, he got to know about werewolves, vampires, and even banshees. The list of creatures goes on and on, and he knew he couldn't read everything in a single day.

"You don't have to read it here, you can take it home." Daphne said when she saw him reading the book word for word.

"Oh, okay then." Logan picked the book and started to go through other books as well.

There were books that focused on each of these creatures, as well as their weaknesses and special powers. He couldn't spend all his time here since he had to return back to his little sister.

In total, he took three books with him, one was a book on the general supernatural creatures, another was a book on werewolves, and the last one was a book on vampires. He was a bit intrigued by vampires, to be honest. He might not believe in them in the past, but it didn't mean he didn't like them.

After taking the books to the librarian there, he was told to return them within the next two months or he could face punishment. They left the library and headed out to other places. There was surprisingly a high-tech department there, with all sorts of weapons hung on the wall.

"You guys use weapons too?" He couldn't help but ask

"Well, there is a  certain creature fists can't do anything against." Daphne spoke with a serious expression.

"Even claws?" Logan asked, a bit interested in the topic.

The fact that there is a creature even werewolves and vampires couldn't beat without weapons was something he couldn't wrap his head around.

"No." Daphne shook her head.

"What are they?" Logan asked, curious about this unique creature.

"I'm not qualified to know yet." Daphne replied with a shake of her head.

"It's kept hidden from us, why?" Logan didn't see any logic in hiding these things from members of their society.

"Well, according to what I heard, only those around rank twenty have the qualifications to fight against them. Of course there are weaker types of these creatures that those around rank one could fight, but they rarely appear." Daphne said.

Rumors about these creatures usually lurk around among weaker ranked members, so she had heard a thing or two about them. However, they always miss the important parts, only saying fists were useless against them.

Logan looked at the place before walking out, a bit troubled. He never thought humanity faced so many threats that were hidden in the dark. If things like werewolves and vampires were to get out, then everyone would freak out. The thought of going against a creature that was well over ten times faster, and stronger was something humans couldn't accept.

They walked around, and after familiarizing himself with the place, Logan walked out with Daphne. A new phone was in his possession, he would receive missions on it, and also get reports on the supernatural society on it.

"So, is magic real?" He asked as they walked out of the building.

"Well, there are certain people with powers. Some vampires tend to have some supernatural abilities, but they only surface after getting to rank ten." Daphne replied.

"I see, what about werewolves, do they also awaken any special ability?" Logan asked curiously.

"None I can think of." Daphne answered with a smile.

"So, just brutes, got it." Logan nodded as he left the building.

After leaving the building, he couldn't help but look around. They had already spent over five hours in the building.

"What now?" He asked, unsure of his future now.

"We're in the same town, so we naturally have to take charge of everything happening there. We will also occasionally travel out for missions as well." Daphne spoke after a few seconds of silence.

"Are there rewards?" Logan inquired.

"How do you think we level up ranks? Training is good, but there are also a few things we get that help quicken our improvement. Of course, when I say quicken I don't mean advancing in a day or two. It takes time." Daphne clarified.

Logan nodded and they started their journey back home. He couldn't wait to get back home, his life has changed completely, but that didn't mean he wouldn't spend time with his family.

….

The days went by quickly, and before they knew it, it had already been over two months since Logan became a registered member of the organization. He referred to them as secret guardians since they protected humans without their knowledge.

After over two months, he was getting the hang of his emotions. Thanks to the books he read, he had a better understanding of being a werewolf, and he also experimented with new things. For instance, he noticed his healing ability was not on the same level as Daphne's. This was because he was on a weaker rank.

His speed and physical strength were also below that of Daphne. Of course he couldn't be compared to a normal human.

One of the things he found surprising was that he could easily control his physical strength when playing with Stephanie, he originally thought given his current strength, he might accidentally hurt her whenever he grabs her.

Just when he was enjoying his life, happy that he didn't have to worry about anything, he got a message from Daphne, their first mission together had been insured.
