A Good Father

After waking up, Mu Yue and Xiao Yan did their morning routine and went to eat breakfast. There they saw Liu Yang and the others.

"Are you fine, Mu Yue? What was the outcome of your advancement? Xiao Yan told us that you were tired so we decided to visit you on another time." Liu Yang asked.

All they knew was that Mu Yue did her advancement to Foundation Establishment. Xiao Yan and the principal decided to keep it to themselves when Mu Yue got 'crippled'.

Mu Yue glanced at Xiao Yan who gave a smile back, she replied to Liu Yang, "I have finished the advancement and successfully became a Foundation Establishment Cultivator. Also, I was indeed tired after it and I wouldn't be able to entertain you guys even if you visited me."

"That's good! So this means that you two will now go to Zongying that the senior's attend?" Liu Yang asked again. They knew that any students who became a Foundation Establishment can go directly to there. They also knew that Xiao Yan stayed to wait for Mu Yue.

Xiao Yan nodded. "We would be leaving after a day or two."

"Make sure to become one of the known figures there! We will be following after you two after some months. It would be best to have some sort of a guide hahaha." Fei Hong laughed.

After chatting with the others, the two girls went to the principal. Zhi Li was not supposed to be here but he came just to observe Mu Yue's advancement.

He was currently mumbling to himself, "Mu Yue failed and was likely crippled. This would not meant that I will abandon her as I am not a bastard of a father. I could take care of her but I don't know how to cheer her up. There should be items to heal crippled cultivators but those are rare. Xiao Yan should be able to get those… even if it means she will be favored more by Mu Yue. Huh… I really am a bad fath-"

*BAM*

"FATHER-IN-LAW!" Xiao Yan shouted after kicking the door open.

Zhi Li was startled but quickly changed to his usual face. He then said, "Can you open the door gently next time? Also, you do not need to shout."

He then noticed Mu Yue who was beside Xiao Yan. "How are you now, Mu Yue?"

"I'm good, father. How about you? " Mu Yue replied.

"I'm fine… at least better than you. Is there something you want? Your father will do his best to get it." After saying this, Zhi Li sighed. He does not have any experience with this things so he plans to give something to cheer Mu Yue.

Mu Yue felt that her father was not his usual self even if he looked like it. There were also books on the table, and they were not related to the school.

Zhi Li spent a lot of time looking for things to help Mu Yue. As soon as he was out of Mu Yue's sight, he rushed to the library and have been reading since then. The books were limited but he does not have the time to go back to the other school site to read.

He found the items that could heal her but they were rare as he mentioned earlier. He tried to look for other methods but failed as they were mostly dark practices. Although he was desperate, he will not let Mu Yue became someone of the dark side.

Realizing that her father wasn't a bad guy and was indeed a good father to her. Mu Yue decided to reveal that she was not crippled.

"Father, about being crippled-"

"I know, I know. I am a failure of a father as I wasn't able to prevent it from happening." Zhi Li interjected. He then sighed while thinking, 'What would happen to the smile of my cute daughter? Will she still be the same?'

Xiao Yan saw him being like this and called him out, "OLD MAN!"

"W-what?"

"Take this!" Xiao Yan sent a kick towards Zhi Li. He was not able to dodge but it did not do much damage to him.

"Can you please let Mu Yue finish what she was about to tell you?"

"Oh…" Zhi Li then glanced towards Mu Yue.

Now that she had her father's attention, Mu Yue spoke,

"I am not crippled. It was just an outcome when I finished the advancement process."
