1 Chapter 1

"Babe! Get in here!" I was already pissed at Axel and now he had the audacity to yell at me. It it weren't for my stupid parents I would've killed him by now.

"No! What the hell do you want!?" I yelled back.

"Is that anyway to talk to your one and only betrothed, darling?" He opened my door and came into my office with a smirk. He then leaned on the door frame looking at complete ease. I rolled my eyes and looked back at my stack of paper. "When it's you I'm talking to it sure as hell is."

After not have finding my mate after almost 3 years after my 18th birthday, my parents who also happened to be the Alpha and Luna of this pack, had decided to match me as a power couple. So my now to-be mate was a hot-headed idiot who didn't know left from right. Also known as Axel.

"Aww baby. That was mean. All I wanted to do was cuddle. When I'm alpha I'll make sure that you are always cared for and that you don't have to make any tough pack decisions. Look how stressed you are right now." He came around to my chair and swept all my work off my desk. "Baby girl you won't have to worry about a thing! It'll be great. You'll get to sit around all day wearing tigh- I mean comfy dresses and taking care of our pups....." I glared at him. "Pups?" Axel continued his win-over speech. "...And when I get home from Alpha duties we can have some fun if you know what I mean." He  wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and looked me up and down. His eyes lingering on my chest.

"Axel."

"Ya baby?"

"Get. The. Fuck. Out. Of. My. Office." My eyes glowed a dangerous red, showing him that I was about to damage his baby carrot.

A bit of the smirk vanished from his face but the arrogance in his eyes did not fade. "Alright. But remember that the mating ceremony is in a month. You will be mine River. Mine."

He tucked my hair behind my ears and walked out... leaving the door wide open. I flipped him off as he turned the corner. I kicked my feet up onto my now empty table and mind linked one of the maids in the pack to come come clean my office.

One month.

That's all I got before my parents said that I had to get mated.

I had 2 options.

One, find my mate without leaving my to-be pack.

Or two, mate Axel.

I rubbed my hands against my face and groaned. Things weren't going to well.
