38 Secret

"Do you need something?" he inquired since Daniel has no idea why his friend is here so early in the morning.

Being asked the reason for coming, Luna turns her head to look around the hallway even though there has always been no one who comes up to this floor other than the ones staying here. Still, it's not safe to tell such a secret here.

"Can I come in?" she requested him. She has finally realized her mistake seeing Daniel in pajamas. But it's kinda not bad…

His baby pink pajamas were not something she could ignore. It must be true that some people from ancient times liked to give gifts according to one's eye color. It's the perfect color for Daniel.

If she were a girl who likes to play with dolls, she was sure that she would kidnap this boy in front of her and dress him up.

Some seconds she was thinking about girly things, and the next second she was pulled back to the real timeline.

"Sure," Daniel pulled his door to let his friend in. When Everett got inside, he shut the door back.

"Do you want anything to drink?" he asked as usual.

"Anything's fine," the usual answer was heard.

Daniel brought two cups of water from the kitchen and gave it to his friend who's sitting on the sofa. The other one was held in his hand.

"So... What's it you want to talk about?" he cut straight into her reason for coming.

"I need to tell you a secret, you can keep it right?" Luna told him.

Even with his friend's glasses covering his eyes, Daniel could see it sparkling with expectations. His heart rate sped up. So, to sum it up, his friend comes to his house five in the morning to tell him a secret?

Is it related to his strict uncle? That must be…it's why Eve has been cautious about not telling in the hallway. What if his uncle heard him? Keeping a secret of a friend, that's a first for him.

Daniel happily agreed, "I can bet my life on it!"

He's not a weak person who would spill it easily!

But surprisingly, their atmosphere became silent right after he answered it. Everett wasn't saying anything to him. He had his head facing the carpet beneath the sofa with his ears slightly…red?

Feeling embarrassed about what he just said, Daniel sips some water from his cup from his hand.

At the moment, Luna, who has her face down, spoke super-fast as if someone was chasing her, "I…I am a dual elementalist!"

Cough

Cough

Daniel, "!!!!"

Saying something like that during drinking, could have led him to death from choking. That was dangerous.

Daniel coughed a few times to let the remaining water in his throat go smoothly with his left hand covering his mouth while the remaining water was in the cup held with his right hand.

"Are you alright??" Luna asked him in a hurry. She tried to pat his back to make him better out of good will but… she used a bit more strength than what she intended, she thought it would make Daniel fall off the sofa.

Surprisingly he was still on it and his choking was gone.

Isn't this a bit strange? She ignored that thought for now.

"A dual elementalist?" Daniel could finally ask back.

"Isn't that great? Why is that a secret?" He innocently asked.

"Just some personal reason," Luna answered him truthfully.

Was it just his imagination or Eve became a little down because of his question? He immediately notices the change in her eyes. They were in one direction, staring into the air.

He decided to change the subject, "What is the second one?"

"Ah, it's this," Luna's attention got to his question, she held out her hand and a flame appeared from it. As she closes her hand into a fist, it disappears. When she opened it again, a ball emitting purple color was in her hand.

Subconsciously, Daniel's head became closer and closer to where her element was. There're many purple strings of light travelling in the ball. Before his hair got burned by it, Luna quickly closed her hands to make it disappear.

"That's so cool," Daniel exclaimed, his eyes looking up to her.

"But…I won't be using the lightning element to enroll," she told him while stroking her short hair to reduce some awkwardness.

"Oh..." Daniel mutters in disappointment.

"What if we don't get into the same class?" he asked what he's worried about.

He has heard that if the element class is not the same, some of the subjects learned won't be the same. Truth to be told, he didn't want to let Everett out of his sight at school. Schools are dangerous if one stays alone.

Not all people are good, there's one thing Daniel has learned from his past, and it's about being able to survive.
