25 Loss

"It's in the last week of the upcoming month," Shadow replied to Luna.

"Can Daniel go with us that day?" she asked him, not expecting a positive answer.

After a minute of silence between the two of them, Shadow gave her his reply "Sure." 

Luna doesn't know for what reason he agreed to let Daniel come with them but she was glad that he won't be alone on that day. 

Given the atmosphere in his house, the two times she went, she was pretty sure he lives alone. His independent self makes her want to become someone like him even more. 

Someone more mature than her.

Weeks passed and it has become one of her daily routines to go to Daniel's house to play.

Their  friendship has become pretty frim. He made her feel like she is  normal again when she's with him. 

One day,  Luna asked Daniel if she could bring her little brother, Ian, to his house. He replied with a 'yes'. Ian surprisingly doesn't dislike Daniel. 

It was a first, with the experience she has seen with Shadow and Ian interaction Luna has always thought that Ian is not someone who likes men. 

Does Ian think that Daniel is too beautiful and gentle that he doesn't seem like a male? That must be it! Maybe it's also the reason why she feels so comfortable beside him.

"Hey Eve" Daniel called her by the nickname which she hates.

"It's Everett! Don't call me that company name, I am already sick of seeing it everywhere Danny." Luna replies to him feeling pissed.

"I won't if you tell me what your element is." Daniel lightly smiled. It's definitely not his usual one.

"I will tell you if you tell me yours first." Luna gave him the same smile back.

'Do you think I am going to fall for that? You will be the one who tells me first!' She glared at him with those thoughts in her mind. She is sure Daniel can feel it through her glasses, the tension. 

They have been trying to know each other during the time they have known each other but neither of them wants to be the one who reveals first.

Ian was sitting on the sofa while they were sitting under the sofa with their game consoles. 

Even he can feel the tension between their childish competition and decided that he won't be the one who is left out from it.

"Ouch," Luna exclaimed. It wasn't too loud though.

Daniel also felt something. 

His eyes turned to look at Ian and asked "Is that--?"

Witnessing his action, Luna realized what that feeling was, it's electricity. 

Does Ian finally know how to use his crest? She got happy and at the same time feeling worried about Daniel finding out who Ian truly is. 

She blurted out trying to cover what just happened "It's me!"

Daniel's gaze turned from Ian to his friend, he had a big grin on his face saying that he had won. 

'Ugh, Damn it!' Luna screams internally. 

Yes, she has a lightning element but she wasn't going to use it at school. She got cold feet thinking about it. Shadow is going to kill her! Her precious food... 

His plan for hiding that she has compatibility with many elements is ruined. 

Lightning has been her strongest element that she can control for now and fire, the most common element that elementalist have, being the second one. 

Shadow planned to make her enter the school as a fire elementalist, to not stand out much. Now, it's all ruined. 

Maybe he will forgive her since she was covering for Ian? But what do I do with Daniel? Her mind got occupied with a train of thoughts.

"Everett?" Daniel calls out toher, not with the nickname Eve. 

Luna's eyes finally see his face again without her mind being occupied. 

Daniel's hand started to reach out for her right hand, he tried to open up her fingers, placing his palm on top of hers.

'What's he doing?' she wondered.

Suddenly, a cold sensation ran through her veins from her hand. It feels more intense on her palm and some kind of weight forming between the clasped hands.

When Daniel lifted his hand back, on Luna's palm, she  could see an Ice snowflake on her palm. It is slightly smaller than the size of her hand. 

She looked at it with surprise.

"We are both special." Daniel said with a gentle smile looking at her in the eyes.

"Ice?" she asked him, still not sure quite what just happened.

"Yeah, I'm an ice elementalist." Daniel answered her.

People call the elementalists who can use light, plant, lightning, and ice 'Special'. Fire, water, air, earth are called 'Normal'. 

It's called that depending on the number of elementalists who can use it. Shadow elementalists are the 'Unique'. Since it's the rarest element humans could use.

"That was totally unexpected." she blurted out the truth. 

It was true, she had never thought of Daniel as an ice elementalist. Now that she has thought of it, it suits him perfectly. The beauty of ice can match him but his personality isn't cold? She secretly chuckled in her mind.

"Is that so?" Daniel replied, his voice sounds a bit disappointed.

"I mean in a good way!"

"Really?" His face immediately lit up.

Is comforting someone always easy like this? Daniel sure is a special case.

"Yeah" she answered and continued to ask him "But how come you already know how to use it?" 

Normally most elementalists learn at elementalist school, only some of them from influential families decide to make their kids learn before going to one. Is Daniel from one of those families?

He answered me with a confused expression on his face "UTube?"

"Huh?"

Hearing Everett's exclamation, Daniel decided to show her the video that he saved from UTube on his phone. In the video, a hand that looks not much bigger than them could be seen creating a snowflake. The voice in the video also seems not much older.

"I mean about forming an elemental core," she asked Daniel again.

"It's also one of his videos that teaches me how to form it." He happily answered.

If someone saw him right now, they would think he is bragging about his teacher, someone who uploads videos on UTube.

The voice and the hands, does the one who uploads it have a teacher and he is only doing it to become famous somehow? Whatever, it's not important for now. She decided that she will just ask what is the name of the uploader and search him up later. 

"What's the name of the one who uploads this?"
