2 Elements, Elementalists and Crests

Fire, water, air, earth, plant, ice, lightning, light, and shadow, are the nine elements that people could use which exist in this world. However, not everyone can use them. 

First, they need to be compatible with one from nine of the elements and hence one who is compatible is labeled as an elementalist. Being an elementalist needs compatibility, affinity, and lastly mana.

The affinity between an element and an elementalist has been regarded as a limit for an elementalist. The higher the affinity is the better and stronger spells are able to be used.

Using the power of element also requires mana, the more powerful the spell is the higher mana is needed for it.

Affinity can increase with the help of respective affinity stones for each element but it does not increase significantly while the need for mana can be fixed with the use of mana weapons, in other words, a mana transferor which is a storage of mana made up of mana stones in it.

People who are compatible with one element are only about seventy percent of the world. Being compatible with more than one is already a blessing. Even if people don't have compatibility with any of the elements, there's still the power of crests.

Crest, a symbol indicating the power of the family bloodline. It exists for everyone on their body, people have either one of their parents' crests. 

Crests possess power different from the nine elements. Since crests are like families' secrets, it doesn't matter if the power is registered or not. Only the pattern is needed to be registered. 

There are so many types of crests in the world, even the government only knows the registered crests' powers, making the limit of the power possessed by crests a mystery. 

In some families, there is a rule preventing the family members from marrying people who are not related to them to maintain the illusion of being the so-called pure family.
