Chapter 63- Clash

"Excuse you?" Some shocked Marine said as the ship heard Luffy's words. "Yup, As a matter of fact, they're a little late. But, I think that- Oh, here they come." Luffy pointed at the army of ships carried down from the sky by giant, inflated, squids. {Sometimes, I want to know how much drugs Oda does to think of this stuff}

"Wyper, you certainly took your time," Sanji said as the rest of the Straw Hats arrived with their own ship. "Sorry, it's just that we don't really have a landmark or something to indicate if we arrived or not." "I gave you coordinates, what do you need a landmark for?" Luffy protested, "Anyway, are these the guys we need to beat up?" Wyper quickly changed the subject.

"Yeah. So are we doing this, or...?" Zoro asked as silent tension filled the air. Instead of answering, a shout came from one of the ships which quietly prepared. "FIRE!"

Bullets flew towards the Skypieans, many of which got hit. But just as the first few fell, others took their place and shot back using Dials. Fire, electricity, exploding cloud balls, and winds so strong they could cut steel shot forward in a huge wave. The targeted ship got demolished in an instant. Skypieans suddenly started to fly in the sky, as something in their back pushed them. They flew to the other ships, and let loose the same catastrophe. And those who got too close suddenly flew back with severe damage. The Marines fought back, but the strange devices proved to be quite the challenge.

Back on the main ship, the Maines surrounding Luffy jumped into action. Garp flew forward with his fist at the ready, Aokiji conjured countless ice spears, Fujitora unsheathed his sword, and two other Marines he didn't remember also charged at him. One was a female with a sword, the other a hunched-over man with a weird hat and two handguns. {I don't really know the admiral candidates well, but I heard one uses a sword and the other guns so I hope I got it right. Also, I just finished writing this and I realized I don't know their names so...}

Luffy felt heavy as Fujitora used his ability, with the hunched-over man shooting a couple of bullets, the woman swinging her sword in a wide arc, Aokiji's spears nearing his head, and Garps' fist aimed at his ribcage. Luffy, however, used the amplified gravity in his favor as he crouched down in the last possible millisecond at an incredible speed. Garp, the swordswomen, and Aokiji's spears clashed above him, but the bullets were now aimed at his head. 'Interesting, can he see the future?' Luffy thought as he caught the bullets with his Haki-clad hand.

Luffy couldn't rest though, since the swordswoman immediately performed a low-kick aimed at Luffy's head. Luffy jumped back and twisted in mid-air to avoid a spray of bullets aimed at his stomach. "You're not the only one who can see the future!" Luffy exclaimed as he landed on his hand and used it to push himself into a roll to dodge Garp's fist of love. Cracks spread across the ship once again, making the poor ship very unstable.

Luffy's adrenaline was pumping. He had the knowledge and techniques from his millennia of experience, but he didn't have the body. He was starting to feel a rush as he faced the best the Marines had to offer, and he wanted them to challenge him more. Luffy took advantage of Garp's opening, rotating on his hands while bringing a strong kick down on Garp's head from his free leg, sending the man flying.

Luffy continued to balance on his arm as he spun around, kicking the swordswoman in the liver while she attempted to bring her sword down on him with an overhead strike. The swordswoman flew back, clenching her side. The gunslinger suddenly had an enraged look in his eyes as he fired even more bullets, only for Luffy to swat them like flies. "That's the problem with bullets," Luffy said to the man, "They have a fixed speed that is pathetic compared to my current level, or anyone close to Admiral level, and your only advantage of future sight is nullified since I can use it too. You're practically useless here." Luffy berated the man. His bullets can certainly do damage, but only when they have the surprise advantage. Luffy can simply see where they end up and avoid them easily.

The man didn't have time to respond, however, since Fujitora's sword came charging at Luffy. Fujitora had a unique style of swordsmanship. Even though he had a thin sword, his swings were slow and powerful, unbefitting of such a blade that was made for quick and light movement. Luffy was busy talking and as a result, he didn't notice Fujitora approaching, and so he had to block the attack with his arm.

The main reason Fujitora's style was slow and heavy, was that his fruit complemented such a style immensely. A gravitational ring appeared above them, as Fujitora brought down his blade under a gravity twenty times stronger. The clash set an air shock all around them, but unfortunately, the ship was unable to sustain such a clash. Luffy was pushed down as the wooden planks gave in under the force of the strike, but as he started to fall, he pulled out an item.

Unimaginable amounts of water shot towards Fujitora, burying him in waves of seawater. Luffy propelled himself up with his flying technique as his fist collided with Fujitora's unguarded face. Suddenly, ice formed around Luffy up to his neck, restricting him. Luffy didn't have time to ponder the enemy's strategy as Garp's fist, the hunched-over man's bullets, and the swordswoman's sword both shot at his head, heart, and neck respectively. Luffy quickly broke the layer of ice around his legs as he attempted to jump, but the cracked wooden floor gave out, making him slip.

=====================================================

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I Hope the fight was entertaining, and that I didn't downplay Luffy too much. I mean, I kind of had to for it to be a good fight, but I feel like it wasn't too much. Especially since what caused his situation was the ruined ship. In other news, I just got my second dose of the COVID vaccine, and I feel like shit... From what I understood, it's an after-effect, and I'm already feeling better, but I had to do an important test while wanting to puke my guts out so I'm hoping for the best on that.
