1 Chapter Five

LOGAN:

Sophia and I were about to take our seats when I heard Liam screaming my name, calling me to him. I sighed and agreed. I asked Sophia if it was okay and she nodded so we walked over to Liam. We all took a seat and ate with him.

Liam was acting so sophisticatedly with Sophia that it surprised me beyond belief. I wondered why as they talked. After her introduction, everyone was quiet but once again, is Liam really Liam without his curiosity? Liam started questioning Sophia about random things, but silenced when I gave him a death glare. From then on, we ate peacefully. Finally.

Sophia wanted to finish what we were doing yesterday, so after lunch we walked over to the library and sat where we sat last time. We continued our work from where we stopped before. I noticed a window to my side, and looked out. It was a sunny day with pretty flowers blooming all over the court yard.

'What a nice day.' I thought to myself.

We were studying, but time passed by in the blink of an eye. After the bell rung, I left for where I work part time; a not-very-famous restaurant, that get only 10 to 15 visitors per day.

I looked up to the sky, there seemingly being no chance of rain in sights, relieved me. The sky was crystal clear, the sun shining brightly and radiantly.

After a while of walking, few drops of rain fell on me, and, before I knew it, suddenly it began to heavily rain. Really? Within the span of minutes, the sky was covered in dark clouds. I covered my head with my hoodie and rushed to the restaurant entrance.

Oh God.

When I got there, I tried to open the door, but it was locked. Nobody was inside. Fortunately, I had the keys. I unlocked the door and peered inside, seemingly no one present. I hung the keys in the key holder and searched if anyone was there. No one was there.

I saw someone rushing towards the door. Who could it be? I quickly walked towards the door to open it so the person could come in and no other than Sophia came in.

Why is she even here?

Baffled due to her sudden appearance, I asked as soon as I let her in, "What are you doing here?"

She laughed and replied "I was just passing by, but because of this rain, I couldn't find any shelter. I saw you rushing over this place so I followed you." I nodded, understanding her reasoning. There was an awkward silencing soon following after that. "So, what is this place?" She continued.

"This is where I work."

"Ahh." She replied nodding, looking pretty interested.

Another long, awkward silence. What can I say? I didn't know how to talk myself out of conversations I didn't want part in, much less talking to Sophia. Trying to end the silence, I stepped up, "Would you like to have some soup?" I asked

"If you have some." She smiled. She looks so pure...like a snow.

She smiles a lot.

And with that one last thought lingering in my mind, I went to the kitchen.

She was looking outside the window, with an expression that said that she enjoyed the scenery. Like if she got a chance, she would've run around in rain and played with mud for hours like a child.

I came outside with two bowls of soup in a tray and sat in front of her. "You enjoy rain?" I asked.

"I love rain. Every time I see it, I just can't control myself and wants to go outside." She rejoiced.

I gave her a small smile, "Then why don't you go outside?."

"I don't know, whenever I go in the rain I return sick. But that doesn't stop me. my friends thought it was child like to enjoy rain, they always told me to grow up, like I wasn't supposed to enjoy rain." She said sadly. I smiled at her, I could just tell her that she shouldn't listen to anyone but her heart but instead, I placed one bowl in front of her and one in front of myself and said "Enjoy." She smiled and eating having her soup.

I looked at her, having her bowl, a part of me felt like I knew her for a long time, It had been just a day but felt like an entire lifetime. It's normal, isn't?

SOPHIA:

When I took the first sip of the soup that was presented before me, I was amazed. The soup was so tasty, so delicious, that I couldn't resist and had the entire bowl of soup in practically one gulp.

After having our soup, we just stared out of the window. The atmosphere was quiet, yet not uncomfortable.

We were just looking at the rain and it felt quite comfortable like we have been together since forever.

What am I even saying, but it kinda feels like we've been together for a very long time.

"Soup was amazing." I said, breaking the silence and coming to the realization that I a, always the one breaking the silence.

"Thank you, I made it yesterday." He replied calmly. I smiled, as I expected prior that he had made the soup, I said,"Oh really? It was amazing!"

After a while, I realized I was staring him. Oh no, what am I doing? What could he be thinking of me when I'm pretty much ogling at him?

I hastily picked up my handbag and said, "I think I should get going."

"But it's still raining." Concern evident showed on his face.

I thought up of any excuse I could think of and said, "Yeah, but it's not as heavy as before and my parents would be worried."

"Oh, yes. Then, yeah, you should go."

"Thanks for the soup" I said as I gave him a small smile.

He smiled, "Anytime."

He smiled.

He smiled. He smiled in front of me for the first time, a little different from the last time. He actually looked very good looking. It was worth watching him smile. Seriously. I haven't seen his genuine smile before. He looked so cute that if I had a chance, I would pinch his cheeks. Hard.

But instead, I smiled back and left the store.

While I was running to my house, I looked back at his restaurant, only to catch him watching me from the glass window with his hands in his pocket.

I turned away and ran, a smile slowing spreading all over my face.

When I got home, I opened my laptop and searched for Logan on Facebook, but came up with no results. Maybe he doesn't use facebook. I wanted to see if he smiles usually. Or maybe I just wanted to see him smile again, I didn't really know.

I mean, although I don't know him at all, he looks like a guy who doesn't smile often and that moment, that moment was really worth watching. I mean he looked so different when his smile reached his eyes. His beautiful dark blue eyes in which I would drown in if I had the chance to. They looked so beautiful. He looked so beautiful. I hope I see him smile often.

I went to kitchen and looked in the refrigerator, but found no sign of food. really, mum? And now I have to make myself a sandwich.

When I finally got to my room, I lazily crawled onto my bed and put the blanket on, making sure it was covering me entirely.

I couldn't think of anything besides Logan's smile.

It felt weird but it was so sweet. I just couldn't stop thinking about that.

'Sophia, you need to sleep' I reminded myself and closed my eyes hoping to sleep as soon as I can.
