1 Where am I?

"Where am I?"

Li Zhong woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling. Looking around, he noticed a completely different room. It wasn't bad looking, but it looked it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Dust was everywhere, there was even some water dripping from the ceiling! Li Zhong knew something was up.

"Haha! Where are you guys?" Faking a laughter, Li Zhong suspected this prank was lead by his two roommates at the dorm. Shi Chen and Zou Wu were always making trouble around the campus. Getting out of the bed, Li Zhong tried to open the door but it was locked. Locked?

"Okay guys, really funny! Can you let me out now?" Now he was really anxious. What if they decided to keep him in here forever? That would be worse than getting pranked. Of course, Li Zhong had never thought of the possibility of being transmigrated...

Thinking of it as his last chance, Li Zhong slammed his body into the door. Somehow he managed to push open the door. That was lucky! Walking outside of the mysterious room, he was hit by very cold air. Wait a minute, this is too weird to be a prank. If this really was a joke, then why didn't they let me out already? There must be something more to this.

Looking down the corridor, it seemed very similar to a vampire's mansion in horror movies. There were even some paintings of very old men on the walls. Li Zhong thought worriedly, 'Don't tell me I was captured by vampires?' Even though they were just folktales, there was probably a little truth to them. Maybe Li Zhong was just making himself nervous, but he couldn't shake the feeling something would happen to him in this haunted house. Something that would change his entire life. Out of nowhere, a cold fear gripped his heart and made him stop in his tracks.

"What is a little insect like you doing here?" Questioned an eerie and aloof voice. Li Zhong was so afraid he couldn't muster any noise. Falling from the ground, a dark figure looked straight at Li Zhong. He couldn't quite make out what the figure looked like, but it definitely didn't look friendly.

"Looks like I'll have another blood servant to put to the work force! They all seem to appear here." The dark figure seemed to have a happy expression and swiftly came towards Li Zhong's neck, biting deep down and making Li Zhong scream in pain.

[An unknown force is trying to enter host's soul... destroyed.] A voice rang out in Li Zhong's head.

Regaining his composure, Li Zhong finally left his panicked state. He thought, 'Apparently whatever's in my head blocked this blood servant thing, but I don't think I'll be able to fight off this vampire creature. Looks like I have to pretend to be a servant for now..'

"Hehe, are you still scared? You should still be able to move, but you must obey my commands. Follow me, servant." The figure was looking at him expectantly, so Li Zhong followed. He was lead outside of the cold mansion and after a while, to a mining shaft. He was ordered to go to Leader Green, who would give him tools to mine blood ores. Only problem is, Li Zhong had no clue where Leader Green was, and he didn't exactly want to be a blood servant forever. After the dark figure left, he looked around and saw a big hut about a hundred feet away. Crossing his fingers, he walked over to the hut and saw people rapidly going in and out with tools. Li Zhong thought, 'This must be where Leader Green is! If not, I'm probably going to die.' And with that, he entered the hut.

Li Zhong entered a line and waited for about ten minutes before finally entering the hut. There he saw a very pale green humanoid looking back at him.

"I'm Leader Green, here are your tools." Leader Green handed Li Zhong a pickaxe, a dull wood sword and an unlit torch. He continued, saying, "The pickaxe is for mining blood ores, the sword is in case you meet any... unpleasant things, and the torch is to scare away insects. I assume you already know how to light the torch. Next!"

Li Zhong quickly hurried out of the hut with his new tools. He ran back to where the mining shaft was and decided to have a break for a few minutes to comprehend what just happened.

"Great! I'm probably in a completely different world, some weird voice is in my head and I have to mine blood ores for vampires. What else could go wrong? Oh right, I might meet an 'unpleasant thing' in the mines. Absolutely great!" muttered Li Zhong.
