Introduction

You know, we all want better life, we all want to be rich and great. so, as new graduates, we set on our journey to achieve that.

After a year, we earned ourselves a two bedroom flat and cheap jobs. We were three, there was Aisha, the vibe queen, real hustler I tell you, she further herself to school and she studied mass communication. And there was, Becky, the prettiest among the group, she was sponsored by her uncle to school, and she studied Banking and finance.

And me, who am I? am Macey. I went to school to study ISD, international studies.

We all met in school, we've all lost our parent, been through hardships.

So am going to start my story from the time we all got a chance to leave the country to a better one. It all started, when Becky got fired again, this was her fifth job of the year. I came home that day to see her sitting recklessly

on the bed. I knew something was up,

"what happened, I asked"?

She looked at me and I saw the redness of her eyes, she's been crying. panicked, I ran to her and I kneeled

" what's wrong? why do you look like this? I asked

" I got fired today," she burst into tears, " my life is a messed" she continued, " that's how johnny left me, then Carmel. am tired of this life, nothing I do works out for me. my bank accounts is all dried up"

" Becky, we are all going through hardships and you know that, don't worry you will get another job, even if it is salesgirl, for the now." I said

And then her tone change to anger

" salesgirl? you can't be serious, you want me to do that, a whole me." she said pointing to herself.

" sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, I was just trying to cheer you up, what about you ask your uncle for help?"

" what can he possibly do for me, eh?"

" I don't know, but at least talk to him, he might be able to help."

" l have heard" she said, cleaning her tears.

" okay, cheer up, crying won't solve your problem and you know that," I motioned for her to get up, " go wash yourself, okay? let go get something to eat" she obeyed without any argument. And as we were about to go out, she said.

" please don't tell Aisha, about.... your know, the tears stuff." she looked at me with pleading eyes. knowing fully well what she mean, I said

" sure, we will just tell her you got fired that you are looking for a new job."

" thank you" she said. with that look, that voice. I have never seen her that way. Helplessness can turn someone into a different thing.

The following week, she came home screaming, startling both Aisha and me,

" my uncle has giving us a chance to go to America." she, said, jumping and screaming with fun excitement, like going to America means you' ve won billions
