Chapter 2

Checking his Status once again, he confirmed his name was set as Xie Shen properly like he wanted. Xie Shen then figured it would be a good idea to find somewhere to live at for the moment, either that or find something to eat since he is feeling hunger at the moment, not really weird considering he was just 'born' a few minutes ago.

Looking around the gloomy forest, he shrugged and decided to walk to the to left, hoping to find something that way. He has absolutely no sense of direction, so he was always getting lost in his last life which was annoying.

He walked for at least an hour but nothing around him changed, just the same old gloomy forest with withered and decayed trees and plants all around, covered in an aura of death that was basically visible to the naked eye.

He kept walking, not feeling tired which is nice, telling him that he isn't as weak as he was when he just started his training in his past life, which is a bonus for him since it would be hard to do anything, let alone survive like that. As he kept walking, he suddenly felt something rushing towards him as his face changed slightly.

Danger!

Rolling to the side, he barely managed to dodge a mouth full of sharp fangs aiming to bite him in half. Jumping back up, he looked at what ambushed him and was felt it looked odd. It was a combination of a tiger, wolf and fox from his past life, but it was easily 5 meters tall with pitch black skin and eyes.

Seeing it suddenly pouncing at him again, he twisted his body to the side slightly and punched his left fist out, it colliding with the monsters forehead, creating a sound as if metal was hitting against metal, and he could feel a slight ache in his hand.

Backing up to dodge another attack, he looked at his fist and saw it was slightly bleeding, making him feel annoyed. Why the heck was the first monster he met in this world something he couldn't even damage properly?

Shaking his head, he had an idea as he burst forward with speed, crouching under the mouth of the monster and jumping up onto it's back. Once on it's back, he shaped both his hands like a sword and stabbed both of them into the eyes of the monster, easily crushing them as they are not as hard as metal like it's skin is.

Flipping off of the monster as it flailed around, he looked around for something longer, only finding a stick about the thickness of his arm. Feeling it good enough, he picked it up and rushed towards the monster, the stick in his hand piercing through the air and into the monsters right eye socket, which is now missing it's eye, and into it's brain. The stick felt quite a lot of resistance, but he forced it through and finally managed to get it into the brain of the monster, making him let out a sigh of relief as he backed away, leaving the stick in it's head.

It flailed and tumbled around for a few seconds, but in the end the brain is the weak part of every living creature, including this monster. After a few more seconds, it shook unsteadily as it fell to the ground, twitching a few more times before it stopped moving forever.

'Huh, that was easy. While it was slightly annoying due to it's hard skin, I could still easily kill it due to it's eyes and brain being weak. Didn't this System say that every being has a System for themselves? Why was this thing so weak then? Is it due to the fact that it is a monster or something so the System is different for them? Oh well, let's put 10 points into strength and 8 into agility.' Xie Shen thought while bringing up his Status.

'Hm, now that I think about it, the experience needed for each level stayed at 50 even though I leveled up 6 times there. Does it only increase in the amount every time I evolve or something? If so it should probably increase by a lot at that point.' Xie Shen thought to himself as he waved his Status away.

Looking at the dead monster in front of him, he wonders if he can eat it. Prodding it's body all around, he shook his head with a sigh as he knows it isn't edible, not that he could eat it anyways since he can't cut it.

He was about to leave when he suddenly thought of something. Turning back to the dead monster, he opened it's mouth and grabbed onto two of it's fangs, yanking them out with his full force. Thankfully they weren't as tough as the monsters skin or else he couldn't be able to remove them.

'Hm, these will make a decent weapon for now until I manage to get a proper one. The fangs of the monster are very sharp, similar to a dagger, so it will be easier to kill things in the future.' He thought to himself as he held the fangs in each hand, only now realizing he is completely naked, having no pockets or anything to store them in.

Shaking his head in annoyance, he simply grips the fangs in his hands as he continues walking, hoping he can at least find a river in this gloomy place so he can wash all this blood off of his body.
