"Good girls barely make history." (Marilyn Monroe)

How does it feel like to be in heaven?

Some people told me that heaven is a paradise where angels fly around you and just amaze you with their majestic beauty. It is a place wherein there are no more pains, sufferings, and worries. All of the things there are just plainly happiness and love.

My mom told me that heaven has unlimited sweets where you can eat everything you want without someone reprimanding you. A place where I can find what I want.

My dad told me that in heaven angels will guide and protect you, and that once you're there you'll be transformed as an angel as well. I thing I wanted to be, an angel.

James told me that in heaven I can fly.

I think what he said amazes me the most. I always wanted to fly, that's why maybe when he said it, heaven feels comforting and that it's ok to be there even if you are not with the ones you love.

Since the day that I have learned that I have a leukemia, I always think about being in heaven someday. If you are going to ask me if I am not afraid to die, the answer is no. I am very afraid of that though. The thought of living everyone I love but as time passes by, I have learned to be strong and accept things as it is. That is why I wanted to do the things that I really want and loved to do.

Monday 01

It's a beautiful Monday today and I am very much excited to go to the university since today is the start of our intramurals week. There will be a lot of fun games and exciting events. And I am very excited to see the different reactions of the students about the program and the activities I have prepared for the entire week. Everybody knows my capabilities since then.

I went upstairs, grabbed a coat and covered the dress I'm wearing. Yes that is a dress and no way will that be described as a skirt. I ran to James' dorm and opened the door without knocking. I saw my friend pretending to be asleep so that he can piss me off early in the morning.

But I am very persistent this time, I grab this hand and pulled it hardly that caused him to be out of his bed. "Hey James! Stop that! I know that you are already awake. So please move now! We will be late at school!" I exclaimed.

"Chill Ms. President! We still have enough time to be there so calm down and retouch your make up girl! Everyones eyes and attention will be yours later and please don't forget to practice your speech." James said while preparing his stuffs. His our Vice president for the council too.

"Yeah! Yeah! I ready for that. I have already prepared the speech last week and rehearsed it a lot of times. Don't worry I won't make a mess this time. " I replied as I remembered the last time I got in trouble because I forgot my speech. I got nervous in front of the students that time.

"Hahaha! Just make sure of that. Khan would be disappointed and for sure he will be discouraged about you Cheen! Hahaha Like you know, I think he got a huge crush on you since then" He said while laughing.

"Whatever James! Just shut up!" I replied annoyingly.

(At the University)

"Welcome to our Intramurals Week! Are you excited to witness the different events and activities for this year's Intramurals Week? Before we start the fun games may we call in our Club President Ms. Cheen Catherine Del Rosario Marquez to give her opening remarks and list of activities. Around of applause please. " host exclaimed with excitement

"Last week, I beheld a very special scene that just remembering it, still brings a welling in my heart. That time after logging out in the admin building and seeing the sunset from the horizon breaking in a palette of red and golden streaks of hue, I saw players running around in the football field.

In my eyes, one man stood out from the rest. Nearly two years ago, one of those running and kicking the ball was the captain of the team who was a good friend of mine. Back then he suffered a terrible and awful accident which left him unable to walk for a long time. Such is the pain and setback he suffered when his thigh bones broke in the field in the middle of the game, when a kick went awry against one member of the opposing team.

Time passed and he spent his time here as a tactical officer, unable yet to sign on because of his body's fragile state. But in that period, he has healed and was able to accomplish a lot of what he needed to pursue in his career such as getting his license and the training necessary for that. From being wheelchair bound to using crutches to limping and to finally slowly, beginning to regain the use his legs once more, he has remained upbeat and of a positive attitude.

He never let his condition become the mournful state of affairs that will control his life. He always joked and laughed from the heart. That, for me is the most profound part of his healing, where he showed everyone around him that he doesn't need a pity party. Instead, just to be treated and kidded as normally as possible.

Seeing him playing once again filled me with an awesome sense of pride. For I know and understand personally what discipline it entails to heal, to be confined to a body limited in its faculties, to be sick and to finally find and follow the path to becoming better once again. Sports indeed teaches us many important things. Not only in the game but in life as well. I would know this. I will continue with some of them.

To start, it teaches us that we are capable of achieving. That we can win if we but put everything we've got into what we are doing. If you apply this in life, it goes something like what John Wooden said which goes something like this: don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability. Don't limit your challenges, instead challenge your limits.

That is why there are different kinds of sports, because not everyone can be a basketball player or a football player, a runner or a discus thrower, for sports is not only about one aspect of physical sense like the foot or the arms, but in other areas as well, such as the mind. That is why chess is also a part of this games. So do not let yourself go the way of mediocrity, seek where your abilities and talents will be harnessed. Then practice hard so that when you go for it, you could say you have accomplished it by seeking where you fit, where your strength and God given talents lie which you didn't let become idle.

Another is that we must not only focus on the prospect of being glorified for winning. The fight in itself is as important as the laurels that crown the head of the victors. Jim Courier said: "Sportsmanship for me is when a guy walks off the court and you really can't tell whether he won or lost, when he carries himself with pride either way." Teach yourself this. That not everyday belongs to us but if we put our whole heart and being into our game, then we could leave the court or wherever venue with our heads held high.

And finally, just another of so many other wisdom that sports enlighten upon us, I say this to those who will compete as a team: always remember, when you put on your uniforms, the name on the front is more important than the name on the back. Fight for the team. Be a part of the team and think of yourself not as someone indispensable, for you can only be important so long as you are part of the whole. Once you break free from that mindset and think you are better than the others and not play as you should be in a group, then it is everyone who will suffer. Be a team player. Realize that collective effort wins the game. In the last World cup, Germany did not have Neymar or Messi or other great names in the pantheon of soccer, glorified from the rest. But they had a team and that is why they won.

There are other lessons that playing a sports game can teach each of us. Seek to further discover it as you go along playing. At the same time, never forget to breath the exhilaration of the moment and enjoy each and every moment you are in the fields.

To close, as you enjoin and go against each other in the spirit of competition, never forget that this event is but another one of those that would further seal and strengthen your brotherhood and camaraderie. Be humble winners and gracious losers.

Thank you very much and good morning to everyone! Let's enjoy a week full of fun! ." I said with pride and joy in my heart. At last! I have delivered the speech without getting into trouble of forgetting my lines.

"Congratulations Cheen! Good words from a brilliant beautiful girl!" Khan said looking at me intently.

"uhm. Uhm. Uhm. Okey." I said as I hurriedly run away from him.

"Grrrrr! What was that Cheen! Why are you acting like that in front of him? ArrrrGrrrrr! Why am I out of words again?"
