65 The Most Suitable

The second part of the meeting begun once Li Mu Bai commenced the meeting. This time, another project manager stood up and began to present his proposal to develop a commercial hub. Because of the strategic position, the proposal was approved by the members right away.

Then, another had suggested developing a private college in Capital City. However, because the discussion would take a long time, the discussion will continue on another date.

Li Qin Yao drank from the bottle to moistened her throat. At this time, Li Ren Xin glanced at her before he stood leaned forward and announced that he was planning to branch out QL Group to another city.

Immediately, the shareholders began to discuss with each other.

From what Li Qin Yao could hear, a few of the shareholders thought that it would be a good idea in their current economy. And there were a few who were worried if they take this step.

"Chairman Li," one of the shareholders spoke up. "Can you tell us where do you plan to venture out?"

Li Ren Xin swept his glance across the room. "B City."

Hearing the location, a few gazes turned to look at Li Qin Yao with their eyes wide. Once they realized that the reason why Li Qin Yao chose to join the shareholder meeting this time, might be due to this project, a few gazes turned malice.

They were waiting for the Chairman to announce that Li Qin Yao returned to QL Group headquarters with mixed feelings.

"The government was planning to develop B City into a tourism city in a few years. Coincidentally, there was a 70-acre land allocated for development. After a long thought and discussion with some high officials, I think it would be a good opportunity for QL Group to start developing in another city."

Zhao Wei clenched her teeth as she listened to the chairman's words before took a deep breath. "Then, Chairman Li, who do you think would be suitable to manage this project in B City?"

"Of course, I will let my granddaughter, Li Qin Yao, to be in charge."

Another heated discussion started among the shareholders.

Before Zhao Wei or anyone could say another word, Li Ren Xin held up a hand, a gesture for them to stop talking. Then, he turned to Li Qin Yao and nodded.

Getting his signal, Li Qin Yao stood up and walked over to the front under the others' watchful eyes. She handed her pen drive to one of the beautiful assistants and assigned the other to handout the stack of reports that she had prepared.

When everything was ready, Li Qin Yao began her presentation, covering the area, the budget, plans, and many others. Her presentation lasted for almost an hour. Of course, with her grandfather's warning gaze, none of them dared to interrupt her during her presentation.

Li Ren Xin was the first to applaud when the presentation ended. Since the Chairman had made his move, the shareholders had no other choice but to join him and clapped.

"Now, it's time to vote," Li Mu Bai spoke as the claps gradually toned down. "If you agree that we should continue this project, then, you may vote." He turned to the beautiful assistant and said, "Please show the voting result on the screen."

One of the assistants nodded. Soon, the voting result was shown on the screen.

Of course, Li Ren Xin and Li Ming Han voted to approve. However, Li Qin Yao was surprised to see that a few of the shareholders who used to support her in the past had voted for her as well.

Unfortunately, even with Chairman Li and Li Ming Han had higher shares among in QL Property group, the votes accumulated was not enough for the project to pass.

At this time, Zhao Wei spoke up, "I and a few shareholders will vote to approve of this project in B City if you agree to change the person in charge." She glanced at her daughter and smiled. "Li Mu Chen can handle this project."

"I don't agree," Chairman Li rejected it immediately.

"Li Qin Yao is not suitable to be the one in charge. Chairman Li, have you forgotten about the scandal from two years ago?" Zhao Wei asked.

"Li Qin Yao was not guilty of the matter two years ago. There was not enough evidence back then to acquit her." Li Ren Xin took a deep breath. "Li Qin Yao has been staying in B City for years. She knew the city best, and she had accumulated enough experience. She is the most suitable."

"Don't forget that without enough votes from the board, the project will not go on," Zhao Wei reminded.

"How about now?" Li Mu Bai spoke.

The others glanced at Li Mu Bai with a puzzled gaze. However, when they looked at the screen again, the shareholders were surprised to see the change in the voting result. Suddenly, the result showed that the project can now go on as planned.

Li Qin Yao had won.

When Zhao Wei saw the last voter's name, she was shocked. Instantly, her gaze went to her son, Li Mu Bai.

"I gave my vote to the project in B City," Li Mu Bai announced.

"Li Mu Bai, are you crazy?" Zhao Wei's chest heaved up and down in anger.

Li Mu Bai cast a warning gaze to his mother. Then, he turned to look at others. "I agree that Li Qin Yao is the most suitable for the development project in B City. However, I have a few conditions. Li Qin Yao, if you agree to these conditions, I will give a stamp of approval to this project." He glanced at Li Ren Xin and continued, "Don't worry. Chairman Li had agreed to this condition as well."

Li Qin Yao looked at her grandfather. It was then that she figured out that her grandfather must have sought for Li Mu Bai's aid to help the vote to pass. Since her grandfather had agreed to Li Mu Bai's condition, then, Li Qin Yao did not worry much about it.

"President Li, please speak."

Li Qin Yao took a deep breath and stretched her body as she walked out of the meeting room. She looked out of the window and saw that the sky has turned dark. She did not realize that the meeting and discussion had gone for hours.

"Yao Yao,"

Li Qin Yao turned at the voice and noticed that Li Mu Bai had stood at the corridor as if he was waiting for her.

"Welcome back to QL Group," Li Mu Bai said.

Li Qin Yao smiled. She walked over to Li Mu Bai and said, "Thank you. But since I'm always part of the shareholders, I have never really left QL Group."

Li Mu Bai chuckled at her comment. He looked at Li Qin Yao's face for a few seconds longer before he walked away.

At this time, Li Ming Han appeared from nowhere to offer his congratulation.

"Cousin Sister, you lied to me," Li Ming Han clicked his tongue. "Didn't you say that you're not planning to return to QL Group?"

"I didn't lie," Li Qin Yao gave him a teasing gaze. "I only said that I am not planning to Capital City. I don't remember mentioning anything about returning to QL Group."
