9 Last Wish

It was only until now that Rosco realized that he had already lived his life to the fullest. If he could personally escort his grandaughter to the aisle and witness her marriage, he would surely die without regrets.

"But do you think she would agree?" Marga said.

"Of course, how could she disagree to this old man's last wish?" Rosco refuted confidently.

...

Lily felt she can't keep going anymore so she sat at a bus stop for rest. She breathed deeply as a way of sorting her thoughts out. A while later she saw a crowd of people slowly inching to her direction. They were a bunch of high-school students, and it seemed like they were going home already so they proceeded at the nearest bus stop where Lily was at.

Lily was surprised that she managed to walk in a dazed state for several hours. That must be the reason why she felt so drained. As the group of students got closer to her direction she hurriedly stood up and walked away. In all honesty, she really did not want to stop resting at the bus stop, she felt really tired. But she was afraid of the crowd. It would be mean if she would shoo them away, she was not the owner of the bus stop after all. And even if she was she would not be rude enough to do it, so there's nothing she could do about it.

It was getting darker. Because Lily didn't want to go to the hospital, she decided to go home. But it soon hit upon her that her home was too far away from where she is. Since she's androphobic she can't possibly hail a cab, so she went to the nearest hotel that her grandpa owned.

She was asked at the desk by the female receptionist if she had any reservation, or if she wanted to book a room. Since she doesn't have a single penny on her, she searched her pocket for something. When she found it she presented it directly to the hotel staff. They were shocked for a moment, but they quickly regained their composure and sent lily to her room.

Lily knew the reason for their baffled looks. It was because of the platinum card she presented. Based on their hotel policy, customers can buy cards to lessen their total expenses if they frequent the hotel. There are four types of it namely bronze, silver, gold, and platinum which correspondingly gives costumers discount of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% for the platinum members. No matter how good the whole thing sounds, costumers still needs to renew the availability of their card every year. So it was apparent that only the richest can afford the platinum card due to its sky high price.

Since Lily was not a spendthrift, she refused her grandfather when he gave her one. But her grandpa insisted so she had no choice but to agree.

Lily isolated herself in the hotel room for four days. She didn't have any problem at all because her food and clothes were covered by the hotel.

In those four days she managed to calm her raging emotions. She prepared herself for whatever fate decided to throw at her, and convinced herself that she must not be weak anymore in the face of challenges.

Lily realized that staying inside the hotel room felt suffocating. She decided to go outside and expose herself to the sunlight.
