See You

The aroma of pancakes from the kitchen wafted through the air. On the dining table, there was a cup of hot coffee. Next to it was a plate of American breakfast. Alex took his seat and started munching on his food. Luna cooking skills seem to improved again, he realized as he took another bite.

"Tap, tap, tap.."

The sound of flippers resounded on the hallway to the dining room. Before long, Lily emerged at the door with sleepy face and chicken nest like hair. She rubbed her sleepy eyes as a yawn escaped from her mouth. He glanced towards her and motioned her to come to the dining table.

"Ma..ma..ma...," she mumbled.

"Your mother still in the kitchen, come and sit here. What do you want to eat?" Alex asked his daughter with a soft smile.

Lily shakes her head and walked into the kitchen. She hugs her mother's legs whom yet realized her presence in the room.

"Oh, baby..you're awake. Did you have a nice sleep?", Luna asked.

Lily nodded her head repeatedly.

"I made some pancakes for you. I bet you must be hungry," she continued.

Lily nodded again.

"Come, let's wash your face first."

Seated at the dining table, Luna pass her some water and Lily gulps without delay.

"Dig in," Luna said after she served two pancakes for her daughter.

She smiled gently when Lily ate the pancakes with gutso. She looked up when she felt Alex was looking at her.

"Are you done? Do you want some?" Luna asked when she saw his empty plate.

Alex shaked his head.

"No, I'm full. Umm..do you have some free time today? I've something to discussed."

Luna's hand paused when before she continue to eat.

"Sure. I'm free after 4pm," she replied after swallowed hard.

She put down her fork on the plate before she wipes her mouth with a napkin. She lose her appetite to continue eating. There seem to be a big lump in her throat. She took a deep breath before flashing him a smile.

"Where do you want have 'the' discussion?", she asked.

She took a good look at his face and she can sees a guilty passed on his face before he masked it with a soft smile.

"Where ever you feel comfortable..just text me the address later. See you soon."

He got up from the seat and approached Lily and planting a kiss on her forehead. Luna's eyes followed his every movements before he disappeared behind the closed door. 'You really had changed.'

She wipes a few tears dropped from her eyes and blinked repeatedly. She doesn't want to cry in front of Lily. She took another deep breath and stood up to brought the dishes to the sink. She washed the dishes and dried them quickly.

She tried to shift her attention on something else. She taught Lily 'the word of the day' for today and accompanied her to play for some time. Then she opened her laptop and quickly immersed herself with some paperworks and proposals. She checked her emails and replied to the respective senders. She made and received some calls while busily noting all the importants point. She reviewed and altered the main product's design for Mu Corp's project.

In interval, she took a quick look towards the living room where she could see her daughter made some shapes from the dough play. When Lily looked up towards her direction, Luna affectionately smiled and waved at her then continued her works. It's not until her reminder's alarm blaring that she noticed it was already 11am. She checked her works for the last time before shutting the laptop and rearranged everything neatly.

She walked into the kitchen and prepared all the ingredients needed to make the new CEO's orders. She estimated the time needed and proceeded to cooked something simple for their lunch. She settled with egg fried rice with a plate of stir-fried mixed vegetables.

After their lunch, Luna asked her daughter to continued her activities. She did the dishes and continue to mixed and whisked all the ingredients steps by steps. She started with something that needed more time to prepared. After she settled two desserts, she took some time to put Lily to nap. She continued until all the desserts were baked and she let them cooled. She brewed some coffee and stored them in a flask vacuum. Next she stored the desserts in some transparent air-tight containers. She double checked everything to ensure she doesn't missed or forgot anything.

Then, she took a quick shower and changed. She woke Lily up and changed her clothes too. She took the large bag that contained all the orders and strode out of the house. She gave Mr. Liu a call to inform she was on her way to delivered the orders. She drove towards Mu Corp and saw Mr Liu assistant, Mr An waiting for her outside the lobby. She parked her car in front of the lobby and opened her car door. She smiled amiably and greeted him before she passed the large bag to him.

"There's another container with purple lid, it's for you and Mr Liu," she remind him.

"Ah..thank you then. Be careful on the road."

Luna nodded slightly and waved him goodbye.

'Be at home by 5. See you.' Luna texted Alex.
