Rental Car

"Wait..where're you both going again? The campus is that way."

They just come out from the square, but the girls turn their bikes to the opposite way of the campus.

"Don't bother us. Just go..shoo shoo.."

"Where, where?"

They all have an expectant expression on their face. Wang Hua sighed.

"The beach. We always went there after buying the foods here. That's..you all can go back first. See you next time."

The next time is the next second. Apparently the four decided to check out the beach too. After all, they had nothing to do in the dorm.

"Hey..get up! You scoundrel! That's our place."

"First come basis."

"You..you.."

"Just let him be, LinLin. Come and sit here."

Wang Hua patted the trunk that she had sit on under the pines trees.

LinLin begrudgingly takes a seat after she kicks Jason down from the tyre's swing. Jason curses can be heard from nearby.

They all chit chat a bit before Jason, Micheal and Calvin unashamedly joins the others to play volleyball on the beach. LinLin decided to play some games on her phone and listening to some musics.

Danial and Wang Hua just staring at the sea. Danial would occasionally glances at her and secretly snapping her serene face.

'I get another picture of her.'

"Ummm...Hua..Hua'er.."

"..Umm..yes..you want some?"

Wang Hua stretch the pick towards him and Danial freeze when she pops the cheesy ball inside his mouth.

"It's yummy, isn't?"

Danial snapped from his stupor. He slowly munching and indulge in the taste. In his mind, he already did a victory dance.

'A present from the heaven.'

"It's really yummiest. You really love it, don't you?"

"Yes..one of my favourites."

"Others?"

"..?.."

"Your other favourite."

"Oh! Tiramisu Cheesecake, the Italian food. Then, my grandmother's cooking. That's it I guess..haha.."

Danial noted everything in his mind. If there's a chance, he really want to take her on a date.

"Hey Hua'er, do you want to go shopping tomorrow?"

"Not sure, why?"

"I suddenly craving some of your dishes but I think the ingredients in our fridge almost out of stock. So wanna do some groceries tomorrow?"

"Sure. You can book the rental car then."

LinLin happily nodded. She gets busy with her phone.

"You cook?"

"Yeah..sometimes, if I had some free times or when some of us starving at night after a long study..hehe.."

Danial nodded.

The trio came back after the game finished.

"Hahh..fuhh..that's really an awesome match," Jason said and slumps his body on the trunk.

But soon he was kicked down from the trunk by LinLin.

"You..stinky girl! What're your problem?"

"You're my problem and you're the stinky one, smells like shit."

"You..you.."

Another round of bickering and the others just shaking their head helplessly.

"Hua'er~~"

LinLin's sad voice echoed.

"Why?"

"The campus rental cars is fully booked, mostly by the junior. Wuuhhuuu...my lasagne, my cream puff, my cookies..they're flying away from me.."

Wang Hua pats her back to console her.

"Hey..it's okay. We'll find another way. If there's none, we can go on Sunday. Alright..don't be sad."

"You can use my car," Danial offered.

"Umm..it's okay..we-"

"Really?! You're my other life saviour, Dan..unlike some scoundrel."

"Hey...!"

"Wait..wait..where do you want to go? I have a car too and I can drive you around. And who's your other life saviour?"

"Of course it's my babe, Hua'er. She's my life, my soul mate.."

"Oh~ Wait..where do you want to go tomorrow?"

"Just doing some groceries," Wang Hua interjected.

"I want to join too. I never do any grocery before. We can use my car," Micheal excitedly claps.

"Umm..that's..that's unnecessary."

"Just let him join you two, at least he can help you bring the groceries. But use my car," Danial insisted.

"Hey..I have a car too," Micheal said.

"If you want to join them, you can't take your car, Mike. It's a two seater car. Do you wish to sit on the rooftop?" Calvin raise his eyebrow.

"Right~ I forgot. So, when do we go?"

"Umm..that's..are you sure you want to join? We are not going to the mall, but the suburb's area."

"Yes..yes.."

LinLin claps her hand excitedly.

"It's decided then. We got a car, a driver aka helper. Ah~~ life is so good."

They sent the bikes to the rental office and promise to meet at the plaza at 7am tomorrow for the shopping plan.

"Hua'er..."

"Yes..is there anything, Danial?"

"Umm..this..this is my phone number. If there's anything wrong with the car or Mike, you can give me a call or text me..yeah..text me."

Wang Hua takes the small paper and unlocked her phone. She quietly key-in the number and press the call button. Danial's phone ringing before it stops.

"That's my number. Thank you so much for your help."

She smile softly at him before she bids him good night. Danial watch until she disappeared.
