10 Luna's Struggles

Alex opened the master bedroom door. He smiled gently upon seeing his wife and daughter cuddling together on the bed. He proceeded to the bathroom to take a warm shower. He guessed he can't has any 'actions' tonight.

Under the shower, he suddenly remembered about his decision to has a divorce with Luna as soon as possible. He can't lead his life in lies anymore. Besides, he had promised Cindy he would marry her after he was officially divorce. And it does not fair for Luna as well, as he had fall in love with someone else. He knew Luna would be heartbroken, thus he felt guilty. Especially when Luna was very good towards him. He thought after all the things he had done, he doesn't deserved her. So, although he felt guilty, he was determined to end their marriage of three years. He hoped Luna would understand his position and doesn't make things ugly.

Then he remembered his cute daughter. The guilty he felt intensified. It's not that he did not care about what happen to Lily's life if they seperated, but he knew Luna would fight tooth and nail for Lily's custody. Luna did not like it when other people taking care of her daughter, unless there was an emergency which she can't brought Lily together. Otherwise, she always brought Lily even into a meeting.

Maybe the trauma she had developed during her childhood made she hardly trusted anyone to take care of her child. Because of that, she decided to resigned from her position in the Mu Corp after she found herself pregnant.

She strived to take care and provided everything that their daughter needed, which sometimes made he felt useless as her father. Luna would sometimes cut off her important meeting or simply brought Lily in front of the webcam during her meeting if ever Lily cried.

But he can't do it the same as her. Firstly, because he did not know how to coaxed a crying baby. Secondly, he did not know whatever that made her cry, so he always felt at his end wits. Then, he felt it was a nuinsance to brought his baby during his meeting or when he simply discussing business on the phone at home. His mind can't operated fully to tend to his work and coaxing a crying child at the same time. Maybe he was not very good at multitasking.

But Luna did not mind it, maybe she mind it..but after she saw he was struggling, she just took their daughter from him and brought her to her workstation, at the dining table. Coaxing and typing on her laptop at the same time. At times, Luna even talked on the phone that she place between her ear and shoulder, typing a document and lulled Lily to sleep. She such a superwoman. He was lucky to have her as his wife.

But, now his feeling had changed. He did not know how it started, when it started or why. The next thing he knew, his feelings had shifted to Cindy. If it was possible for a married man to marry again, he would gladly kept his marriage with Luna. But, in this country, the law prohibited it. So he could only choose one and he chose Cindy.

Alex did not realized when he got to the bed. The next thing he knew, he was staring at Luna's face. He dazedly stared at her until eventually he fell asleep.

Luna on the other side of the bed, opened her eyes when she was sure Alex had fallen asleep. There was not a single sign that indicated she just woke up.

She had an ominous feeling that something big will happen at the near future. She also had a foreboding that her life will take another course resulted from whatever that will happen. She felt anxious and worried. It felt like a huge tornado will smashed her ship and changes everything from it's original places. Maybe she just over-stressed with her pending works and busy schedule. Adding with emotional stress that she felt this passed few weeks.

She stole a look at Alex's face. She had an inkling what he might do. But, she just brushed it off even though her subconcious mind already accepted what she had been denied.

She may not admit it openly, but she was afraid of being abandoned again. She always felt she was unloved. So she tried to give her all to everything that she loved. Others may said she was a perfect woman, with beauty and brain, but she knew herself. She had her vulnerable side and moments too but she never shown it to the world. Even to her husband. Because she did not want to be a burden for someone she hold dearly.

After a while, she slowly and gently removed Lily's hands that was cluthing her night dress and sat up on the bed. She looked at her husband face with a complicated expression. Slowly, she stood up from the bed and placed a soft plushie in between her daughter's hands. She kissed Lily and walked out of the bedroom.
