40 I Refused.

A week passed in a blink of the eye.

Luna was busy with the Mu Corp's new product development. There's some miscalculation with the product's case. The material to build the case is not suitable to contain the heat radiated from the inner core of the product. Luckily the inner core contains of sensitive components and sensors did not blow up. If that happened, they will need to assemble a new inner core for the product, that needed over than five months to assembled and that will cost a lot of money.

She just came back to her office from the laboratory when her office phone ringing.

"Luna's speaking."

"Mrs Luna, the CEO wants to meet you in his office."

She heard Linda said over the phone. She sighed.

"Did he says what he wants from me, Linda?"

"I'm not too sure about that, just he says it is important."

"Did anyone else present, aside from me?"

"No..no..Mrs Luna," Linda guiltily replied.

There's CEO Li, Director Calvin and Mr Jason in the room too, but CEO Mu already reminds her in advance, if Mrs Luna asked that question, she needs to lie.

'I'm sorry, Mrs Luna.'

Luna can hears a slight shaking in Linda's voice, but she just brushed it off.

"Give me fifteen minutes. I just came back from the lab."

"Alright, I'll inform CEO Mu. Bye, Mrs Luna.'

Luna's stretching for a bit before she stands up and walks towards Lily who is busy colouring her books.

"Baby, are you doing okay? I have to go upstairs, do you want to join me?"

Just now, when she went to the laboratory, she can't bring Lily together because it's a white room. There're some very sensitive components in the room. Every personnel whom entering the room needs to wear a 'bunny suit.'

Lily ponders for a while before she nodded her head.

"Alright, let's bring your crayons and books too. Ah! You had become more better at controlling your wrist movements. Keep it up, baby."

Lily shyly smiled when Luna admires her works. Before, Lily just randomly colouring the pictures but now it's become more neat, as an improvement in her wrist. Luna felt relief, as that's indicates Lily's positive progress to be cure from mild autism spectrum. She kissed her.

"Come, baby. Let's go."

"Mrs Luna. You may enter," Linda gestured.

"Yes, thanks."

She knocks on the door and enters. But she stops in her tracks when she sees the four men staring at her.

She glares at Micheal before she decided to turn around.

"Wait..wait..don't go yet. It's about an important project," Micheal anxiously stopping her from going out.

"What project?"

"That..umm..you need to come and take a seat first. Let's discuss it there."

Micheal points towards the couch.

Luna sighs irritatedly.

"This better be good or I'll chop you off for wasting my time."

Micheal weakly nodded.

Luna walks towards the couch, but the only vacant space is beside Danial on the couple chair and an armchair. She can't possibly let Lily sits beside him as they may really talk about important project. So she reluctantly let her daughter sits on the armchair.

"Baby, be a good girl and continue your previous works. Later, I'll buy you an ice cream, okay?"

She pats her head when Lily's nodded happily.

Then she silently sighs before she takes the seat beside Danial. Danial smiles happily inside his heart.

At least like this he feels a little content although he can't hold her.

"So, what's project?" Luna asked no one in particular.

"Do you remember your first big project in the company?" Micheal asked.

"The laser beams indicator for tunnel breakers. Why?"

"It's like this, Luna. Li Corporation intended to build a high speed bullet train, including the railways too. We -"

"Where?" Luna intercepted.

Calvin proceeds to open the satellite image of City S and shows it to Luna.

"Li Corporation just successfully inquired the lands from the east, along the north until the northwest areas. We concluded that the lands are suitable for train's routes, as it is jungle's area but no too far from the population. This will provides more convenient transportation for the citizens."

"Estimated construction period and starting date?" Luna asked again.

"It's in a year and half. As early as possible, probably in a month," Danial answered.

He looks towards her as Luna looks at the map and compares it with the map inside her mind.

'It's not lapping, but not too far either. Guess I need to proceed with my plan sooner. This is a good opportunity.'

"So, what did you need me for? I believed Li Corporation has enough talents to work on the project."

"You're the representative from our company. You'll work together with Li Corporation's team for the electrical and electronics parts."

"I refused."

Everyone dumbfounded.

"Why?" Danial inquired.

He really wants her to be involved in the project. Call him selfish, but he wants to be closer with her even for some period of time only.

"I just can't. The timing doesn't fits my schedule."

"But you're the best in your department," Micheal insisted.

"Thank you for the compliment and I'm glad you think highly of my talent, but it's still a no."

"Give me a valid reason," Danial demanded.

He stares at her as Luna rubs her face, frustrated. He watches her every movements before he realise something. His face turns dark and gloomy.

The others felt confused by his sudden change.

"Are you pregnant?" Danial asked in a dark and dangerously low voice.

He looks pointedly at her small belly bump. The others are shocked and subconsciously look towards her abdomen.

"Yes. It's the very reason that I can't involved in the project even if I want."

She can feels the heat from his penetrative stares but she try to stay composed.

"Hah! Your husband cheated on you but you still bear him a child again?" Danial mocked.

He felt angry, frustrated and hurt with the news.

Luna is shocked. 'How come he know about Alex.'

"You're investigating me?"

Then she glares at Jason whom cowered in fear. He had a guilty expression on his face.

Luna stands up and picks her backpack but Danial grabs her hand and snatched it from her.

"Out!" he barked.
