22 Chapter Twenty-Two: Blind Sighted

The sound of her disappearing could be heard from the room and the king couldn't help but sigh heavily. He always chose the ones that were fiesty, thinking that it would remain in bed but no it always went to their empty heads.

"To comment or not to comment?" the young man teased as he removed the cloak that covered his face, revealing the face of a handsome tired man.

His own gold eyes were a lighter shade, making them easy to attract but at times it drew in unwanted attention. His black hair was a mess from constantly being hidden, the stubborn hair was always unruly and never went straight. It would always take hours for the hair to be forced straight but since he wasn't the one ruling the kingdom, he didn't care.

He watched the king's darker shade eyes watch him with a small smirk, the king stood up and brought him in for an embrace. The two-man pulled apart after a while and just stared at each other, no matter how long they spent apart it would always seem like it had been years.

The sound of another door being opened was heard but they both didn't panic as they knew who it was. Both turning they watched an elder woman step out with two guards, she walked towards them with an aura of grace and elegance. Yet to think, she was supposed to be a maid.

"Finally both my sons are together, now I can relax and not worry about the other being caught. Where have you been boy? You've been gone for hours." she asked as she drew closer to him, grabbing his face she began to caress feeling for any changes or marks.

"Mother, we are fine," One said but didn't move away from his mother.

"I will decide that not you," she said as she moved to the next and began feeling his face. The two-man had become used to their mother and never went against her wishes.

The woman was born without sight yet never failed to trick ones with sight. Her beauty was forever unmatched and many had offered to take her as their wife but she was a stubborn woman. One that never settled, though she was blind, she adapted to anything simply without fuss. So when one night came and the king had desired her, she was nothing but a peasant.

One night had turned into one that was wild but had spilled her innocence and ruined who she was. She was used and never seen as the beautiful woman until she bore his sons. Things had taken a turn as the king's wife had not bore any children and she was the only one to have bore two healthy sons.

Both with unique gifts and though they were seen as bastards, things changed when one killed the father in a challenge and became the new king. They both had to move in secret and that meant keeping her hidden until his coronation.

"My sons," she whispered as she reached and both her sons grabbed her hands.

"Make them burn alive for all the shame they have thrown at us and at times we will rule this very kingdom as though we have built it. We will watch them burn and let their corpses be smelled all the way to the next kingdom. Make me proud." she stated.

"Yes, mother" they chorused and watched her turn and go back.

"Have you found the human?" Silver asked as he turned his attention to his brother.

"Silver relax, the human doesn't disappear from my sight. She's currently at a club, let's just say all is going according to plan except for one thing."

"Which is?"

"The human boy seems to be in love with her and she is falling for him. I'm assuming you want him killed?"

"You never assume wrong."
