Chapter_Forty: Welcome (part two)

He watched her body slightly rise and fall as she slept, she would at times kick and mumble as sweat gathered on her forehead. He placed his hand on her forehead lightly trying to sink into her dreams and see what she dreamt about. His eyes turned full gold as he sunk himself into her memories as though quicksand.

Once he was fully in, he was greeted by darkness and the smell of blood. It was too strong for him to ignore so he knew that there was a blood bath somewhere close. He walked slowly, taking in the sight and the area, trying to make sure that nothing would jump out and try to harm him.

Though this was someone's dream, it always impacted one in reality. He didn't want to be harmed and fight back, causing her more harm and pain. So he made sure to be careful and as soon as he reached a point, he heard her screams, they were loud and petrified as though something was chasing her or she was running away from something.

Circling the big tree, he caught sight of her in a castle, one that looked like his. He caught sight of her staring out the window before turning around to see the maid he had assigned for her. She could see how the girl turned tense as the servant spoke to her through mind link and not with her mouth.

All her servants spoke like that, it was a better way to communicate rather than using words unless it was an outsider. Since she had made a deal with me her soul was connected to me and there was no way to easily disconnect it unless I forced it or she died.

I guess he would soon have to explain everything to her, he felt himself shift and he was in the middle of the castle within a blink of an eye and he saw her hurry away from the maid. Turning and sprinting away from her, her eyes darting around to find a way out but there wasn't any.

She reached one door and pulled it open and there lay the gateway to the Abyss, one of the places he was responsible for ensuring ran well with no issues. Guards outside dressed in gold patrolled and made sure everything was well. As there had been times where fights broke out for no reason.

He watched the girl fall onto her knees, petrified of what she saw, he caught sight of the maid cover her body with a cloak and pull her away from the door. Stepping forward the maid disappeared and the girl looked around, scared at the change of the nightmare or memory.

He placed his hand on her shoulder and whispered, "Vuka."

They were out of her dreams within a second and he felt his eyes revert to how they were original. He watched the girl take a minute more to wake up and slowly stare at everything with wide eyes. Her eyes set on his and recognition of everything replayed, and a flash appeared in her eyes as she realized where she was.

"You…" she whispered, as she realized where she was and why she was here, he knew this would happen but he hadn't expected her to lose her mind that quickly.

"I do apologize for the bits of memories missing, when you meet creatures or beings like me and my brother, the living tend to become a bit obsessed, and once we disappear they cling onto those memories and constantly question everything. So by default, we had to find a witch who knew how to change certain things.

So people or the living that have only since us once, twice or thrice will forget us quicker or anything said by us. If we make a deal with them it takes a while for them to remember when we come to collect until we make ourselves present to help them" he said,

"You should be starving, come" he said as he stood up, holding out his hand for her,

"Which one are you?" she asked as she slowly shifted out of bed,

"The kinder one", he responded with a smile. "My brother is the asshole as you living beings say it but he's like that for the right reasons. Yet you will understand soon, now come."

"Where am I?" she asked as she grabbed a hold of his hand,

"This is the Oscuridad Kingdom, Kingdom of darkness. Your new home and soon to be your new kingdom to rule with my older brother", he said, as they reached a set of double doors and they were opened by the two guards.

Revealing a sight that Aria couldn't help but stare at in wonder.
