30 His story

"Wow you cooked a lot!" Sabrina's eyes twinkled when she saw all the delicious dishes Alexander had prepared for them.

"This is a special day, of course we should celebrate," Alexander popped a champagne and poured some on their glasses, "Let's eat," he said, then pulled out a chair for Sabrina.

"Thank you,"

Both of them started to eat, "Omg! This is so delicious!" she said then showed a thumbs up in front of Alexander. Alexander just chuckled at her then continued to eat.

All through out dinner, Sabrina praised Alexander non-stop with his cooking skills and he just smiled at her everytime.

Finishing dinner, Sabrina wiped her mouth, "Thank you for the dinner, I really enjoyed it! I haven't eaten this much before," she said while rubbing her stomach.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," he said then fixed their plates and placed it on the sink.

"How did you learn how to cook?" Sabrina asked him.

"Had to learn, I live by myself," he answered which she nodded in response.

Alexander and Sabrina headed to balcony to have some fresh air, both holding champagne glass on their hands.

"It's crazy right?" Alexander heard Sabrina say.

"What do you mean?" he raised his brows.

"This, us," she said then took a sip from her drink.

"What's so crazy about us?"

"Everything, I mean, look at us. This day, we got together, I'm now your girlfriend and you're now my boyfriend even though you just courted me for like 4 or 5 days?" she chuckled.

"And?"

"And we barely know each other Alex, I have zero knowledge about you," she turned to face him.

"You want to know me?" he faced her and she nodded in response.

Alexander exhaled first before he started to speak.

"Once upon a time, a man named Alexander Crook was born," he started and Sabrina immediately raised her brows upon hearing him.

Alexander Crook?

"I'm a son of a prostitute and a billionaire. My mom was the prostitute and my dad the billionaire. They fell inlove at a bar. My dad saw her and was captivated by my mom at first sight, then decided to get together and get married, and so they had me," he took a sip on his champagne before he continued.

"My dad's family didn't approve of my mom due to her background, so they were forced to move out. Although there were too much drama, out family was quite happy. Both my mom and dad showed love to me unconditionally,"

Sabrina who was having a hard time absorbing information stopped Alexander, "Wait wait wait! I don't understand something, you said you were a son of a billionaire and a prostitute and that you were named Alexander Crook, where in the world did Alexander Grande come from?" she asked him.

"As I was saying, yeah I was named Alexander Crook, after my father's surname, but I changed it to Grande when I was 19. Grande was my mom's surname," he answered her.

"But why did you change it?"

"When I was 7, my dad had an affair with a celebrity. My parents separated because of it. My dad forcefully took me from my mother and made me live with him and his mistress," Sabrina noticed the sudden change on Alexander's expression.

"At first it was okay, his mistress treated me well, but as time went by, her true colors showed up. She beats me from time to time, when she's frustrated, I was always her punching bag. I tried to tell my dad about it but he just brushed me off. Then I decided to leave home, I went back to my mom,"

"When I arrived at her house, I saw piles of beer cans scattered all over the place and she was lying weakly on the floor,"

"Mom!" shouted the young Alex.

"Baby? Is that you?" the weak woman tried to get up but her body can't.

"Mom what happened to you?" Alexander rushed on her mother's side and cried. Tears didn't stop falling from the little boy's face.

His mom reached out for his face and wiped his tears, "It really is my baby," she said and tears also started to flow from her eyes.

"Yes mommy it's me," he held his mother's hand on his face. He had missed her so much! He hugged her tightly and with weak arms, his mother also did the same.

This is the place where he felt safe.

After a few minutes of hugging each other, little Alexander pulled and held his mom's face, "Don't cry mommy, baby is here," he said and wiped the tears from his mom's face.

"Mommy is just happy baby,"

Then suddenly a loud knock was heard from the door.

"Katherine bring out my child!" his father shouted while banging loudly on the door.

Suddenly, the door bursted open. Little Alexander flinched back due to shock. Weakly, his mother forced herself to stand up and protect her son.

"Katherine what is the meaning of this huh!?" his father shouted at the weak woman.

"I...."

"Get away you bitch!" the mistress pushed the weak woman. The woman hit her head hardly on the floor.

"Mommy!" Alexander cried and ran towards his mother's side.

There was blood on the floor.

Little Alexander shook her mom's body and tried to wake her up, "Mom! Wake up mommy! Baby is here!" he cried hysterically but his mom didn't move an inch.

He turned to face his dad, "Please help mommy!" he pleaded.

His dad took a step forward but he was stopped by his mistress.

Just like that, he lost his mother.

He blamed himself for it until now, if he didn't leave the house maybe his mother won't be pushed and she wouldn't die.

"I lived with that burden until now, the image of my mom dying in front of me is still fresh like it was only yesterday," Alexander's voice cracked.

"I didn't want to associate myself with my dad anymore, so ever since I turned the legal age, I left home. I used the little money I saved up to build a small business for myself and worked hard to where I am today. I also changed my surname to my mom's. I wanted to cut ties with my dad completely, I'm disgusted by him. And ever since then, I also hated celebrities,"

Sabrina suddenly rushed to Alexander and hugged him tightly, she was crying.

She felt the pain of Alexander's past.

How can his dad be that disgusting!

"I'm sorry for your past, and I'm sorry for your loss," she said sobbing on Alexander's chest.

"It's okay, I'm kind of used to it now. It's been a long time," she heard Alexander say.

Sabrina pulled out from the hug and looked at Alexander on the face, "You don't have to suffer alone now Alex, you have me," she said.

Alexander wiped the tears on her face and planted a soft kiss on her forehead, "I don't need you to suffer with me, I just need you to love me," he said.

"I can do both," Sabrina said which made Alexander chuckle a little.

"Then how about you sleep with me tonight?" he teased her and immediately received a punch from Sabrina.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," he said then once again pulled Sabrina into a tight hug.

His heart felt happy and contented right now.

Who would've thought that he would find love from a celebrity whom he hated for the longest time of his life.
