8 Chapter 8: Alice’s POV

"Are you hungry?" Blair asked peering around the corner at me

"A bit." I laughed as I stood up from my spot on the couch and walked over to her

She took my hand in hers and blushed "Wanna get some McDonald's?"

I laughed softly "Sure."

"I'm surprised you're not too old for McDonald's." She teased

I rolled my eyes at her "You're never too old for McDonald's."

"You've got a point there." She laughed as she pulled her shoes on

I quickly slipped on my shoes before being led out to her steel colored 2016 Rolls Royce that I assumed her parents had bought her. I hopped inside and I could instantly recognize the smell of marijuana and couldn't help but laugh.

"I thought you didn't smoke in your car." I said accusingly

She buckled "No I said my parents didn't like that I smoke in my car, but they can't tell me what to do with something they didn't pay for."

She seemed distant and lost in thought as she trailed off at the end and I was surprised by what she had said "How on earth did a senior in high school buy a Rolls Royce?"

"I'd tell you but I don't want you to like me for my money." She teased seeming to have returned back to earth

"Well Blair, I think we both know it's for the sex not the money." I joked back causing her to chuckle

She paused and rolled her eyes "Alright fine, I paint on the side, mostly for children's books and book covers but I've made quite a bit from it."

"So you're an artist?" I questioned curiously

She rolled her eyes and started the car "I'm also a writer, I illustrate for my own books."

"How am I just learning this now?" I questioned genuinely confused why she hadn't mentioned it

She shrugged "You didn't ask."

We pulled out and headed towards McDonald's but I still had more questions "How long have you been writing books?"

"A long time, I got my first book published at fourteen but I wrote under a pseudonym so good luck finding any of my books." She laughed confidently

I pouted like a child "But I wanna read them."

"Too bad." She said sticking her tongue out at me "Most of them are children's books anyway."

"I can't believe someone let you write books for innocent children." I joked causing her to glare at me

"I can be appropriate." She grumbled as we pulled into the McDonald's drive thru

We ordered our food and then waited in the line of cars until getting to the first window. I turned recognizing the boy from one of my classes and unbuckled before climbing into the backseat as quickly as I could, causing Blair to look at me with confusion evident on her face. She shook her head and turned her attention to the boy handing him the money before getting her change back and pulling forward. This was precisely what I was worried about, how on earth were we going to keep this a secret? We can't even go to McDonald's without almost getting caught so how are we going to keep this up, like honestly what on earth have I gotten myself into.

"He's in one of your classes isn't he?" She said with a smirk as she looked back at me

I grumbled a yes and she laughed as we pulled up to the next window where our food and drinks were handed to Blair. Once she pulled forward I climbed back into my seat and buckled while she watched me struggle.

"That was interesting." She chuckled as we headed back to the house

"This is exactly what I was worried about and you're just gonna laugh about it?" I groaned in annoyance

She shrugged and took a sip of her Dr. Pepper "I mean we didn't actually get caught so what's the big deal?"

"What if we do get caught?" I countered as I took a sip of my coke nervously overthinking everything

She rolled her eyes "Then we lie and be more careful till I graduate, who cares I'm an adult for Christ's sake and you're barely even older than me."

I laughed softly "Yes I know Blair, it's not anything to do with you. I just don't want to lose my job."

"Ahhh," she breathed out "then we'll just have to be more careful."

The cute smirk on her face and her unusual behavior of actually being serious eased my nerves a bit as we made our way back to her house. Once inside we got our McDonald's and headed to the living room to watch a movie we hadn't decided on yet.

She bent down in front of the bookshelf full of DVD's and looked up at me "What would you like to watch?"

"You pick." I replied before taking a bite of my French fry

She smiled and picked out a movie without a word and put it into the DVD player. The movie After started playing and we talked and giggled while eating our food until we settled into the couch. We were cuddled up together and I slowly drifted off to sleep in the comfort of her arms.

~The Next Morning~

When I woke up I saw the most beautiful face in the world, Blair's. She was passed out on top of me with an adorable look on her now innocent seeming face. I gently ran my fingers through her soft hair until her eyes fluttered open and filled with confusion for only a second before being replaced with a look of pure joy.

"Good morning." She whispered groggily

"Good morning beautiful." I replied still running my fingers through her hair

"Fuck it's Sunday." She groaned resting her face on my chest

I laughed softly "What's so bad about Sunday's?"

"It's the day before Monday." She whined sitting up on my lap with a devilish look on her face "So you stayed the night?"

"Mhm, I guess sleeping in the same house is starting to become a habit." I joked placing my hands on her thighs

"Mmm," she breathed out "It sucks that I'm gonna have to kick you out soon so my parents don't see you here."

At that my heart began to race "Why didn't you tell me they were coming home?"

"We were asleep." She said rolling her eyes before getting off of me

"Ugh, what time are they coming?" I asked swinging my legs over the edge of the couch

She looked down at her phone and her face became pale "Fuck you need to go, it's almost noon and they should be back any second."

"Jesus Blair." I whined as I stood up and ran over to the door putting my shoes on

She came over to me as I stood up with a pout on her lips "Do I not get a goodbye kiss Ms. Winters?"

I rolled my eyes at her childish behavior before kissing her softly for a moment and then pulling back "Have a good day miss Collins, I'll see you in class tomorrow."

"You as well Ms. Winters." She breathed out

I opened the door and looked around making sure they weren't anywhere to be seen before running to my car and peeling out of the driveway like my life depended on it. This girl was going to be the death of me, but I still couldn't wait to see her in class on Monday either way.
