5 CHAPTER FIVE

"Oh Rosalie, you're breaking my heart", Mr Donnadieu says from where he sits opposite me in his huge plush leather chair.

We are currently in his office discussing my resignation from the restaurant. Which is something he is not taking very well.

I see some sadness in his eyes. "I'm sorry Mr Donnadieu", I say twiddling my thumbs on my lap.

"I told you to call me Victor", his voice has a slight quiver as he speaks.

Geez I never knew my resignation would break this poor old man. I mean I am sad to be leaving. He has been like a second father to me ever since I started working here. He took me in knowing that I had no experience whatsoever.

"I'm so sorry Victor", I say to him.

I am trying to control my emotions but it's hard and if he looks at me with those sad eyes one more time, I swear I'm going to cry.

"It's okay kiddo. It's just that you were one of the best, and losing you sucks." he stands up from his chair and walks around the table to put his hand on my shoulder.

I too stand up from the chair I was sitting on and give him an affectionate hug.

"Promise me that you'll come to visit me", he mumbles on to my shoulder before he detaches from our embrace.

"I promise Victor", I say.

He looks at me with kind eyes and smiles at me as I make my way out of his office to tend back to my tables.

News of my resignation travels faster than the speed of light at the restaurant and I receive sad goodbyes and a million "I'm going to miss you", from the staff the whole week.

Today is my last day and I honestly feel very nostalgic. It's always hard to say goodbye and the past six months that I have been working here has been nothing short of a miracle. God really came through for me when I needed him most.

But now it is time for me to move on, even if it means that the next chapter of my life involves cleaning up after other people.

I go to my last table of the night and of my waitressing career as Shelly the hostess tell me that I have new diners that are seated in my section.

I walk up to the table where two gentlemen are sitting. I can see one from the direction I am walking towards, but the one seated opposite him is facing away from me so I can only see his broad shoulders which are hugged tightly by his suit jacket.

"Hi, my name is Rosalie and I'll be your waitress this evening", I plaster on a smile and hand them the menus. I look at the guy I saw when I was walking over and ask him for his order.

While he looks over the menu and tells me his choices, I quickly write it down on my notepad.

"I'll have a medium rare steak with vegetables on the side, plus a glass of red wine".

I nod and turn to the other guy. "And you sir?", I ask as he looks at his menu. He had his head down the whole time and I get a proper look at him when he looks up at me.

Whoa...

I am met by the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. I feel like I am staring at the ocean somewhere in the Bahamas or some other island.

He holds my gaze for a few seconds and tells me his order.

"I'll have the vegetarian fettuccine and white wine", he drawls off in a smooth British accent.

Remember my fascination with British men? Well my knees nearly give out just from the sound of his voice.

Get a grip on yourself!

I mentally scold myself as I take down his order and retrieve the menus from them. I head to the kitchen and put in their order. A few minutes later I am back at their table with the food. The entire time I try not to faint as I put down the plates in front of them.

My heart skips a beat as I hear a bit of their conversation as Mr British Blue Eyes speaks.

"This merger will have benefits for both companies, Tommy", he says to the other guy who is also super attractive.

I am trying not to swoon to actual death here, but wow I could listen to him speak all day.

Wow obsessed much? My subconscious comments.

"Let me know if you need anything else", I say to them.

They both nod.

"Thank you Rosalie", the other guy, Tommy says to me before I walk away and leave them to enjoy their meal.

The two gentlemen leave an hour later, with full stomachs and a hefty hundred bucks as a tip for me. My day is ending off on a good note I see. Pun fully intended.

I walk to the locker room and take out all my little things that were in my designated locker. I feel overwhelmed by emotions as I look at the small brown takeout paper bag that I took from the kitchen which now contains my stuff.

Six months of my life at this place, fit in such a small space.

I get my purse and hug almost each and every person in there as a final goodbye. Paul comes in as I am stuck in Victor's embrace. The old guy literally does not want to let go.

"Papa, you have to let her go now", he says in an endearing tone to his father.

He pries his father's arms away from me. I suck in some needed oxygen, I love Victor but he nearly suffocated me to death with his death grip.

"I hear you're leaving us", Paul says to me.

"Greener pastures", I reply.

"Well, I wish you good luck", he says with a smile as he pulls me in for a hug.

I have hugged so many people today, I am pretty sure that I don't even smell like myself. Just a bunch of mixed up scents.

Paul hugs me for too long. I cringe and suppress a grossed out shudder as I feel his hand dangerously lowering onto my butt.

Eew.

We pull away from each other and I quickly say one final goodbye to everyone and exit the building.

On my way back home I feel a sigh of relief as to have been done with that part of my life. I also feel some nervousness for the following chapter.

When I walk into the apartment, I almost die from a heart attack as Bryce and Gigi scream "Surprise". They both have on party hats and I see that Gigi is holding a glass of red wine in her left hand.

"What the hell?", I ask in shock.

"We're celebrating your new job", Gigi says with a slight slur in her voice.

Is she already drunk?

Bryce enthusiastically nods standing next to her.

This is unexpected. I was looking forward to getting a nice hot shower, getting into some comfy clothes and just relaxing my Friday night away.

"Just let me take a shower first, I stink", I sniff my shirt and my nose scrunches up from all the smells that are on me.

Twenty minutes later I am relaxed on the couch in a unicorn onesie that has a horn on the front of the hood, and some white socks on.

I feel alive as the alcohol courses through my veins. I don't usually drink, in fact I hardly drink. I don't like the taste of alcohol, but I honestly live for the feeling it sure gives.

I dance around the apartment with Gigi to Kesha's Tick Tock, blasting through our speakers.

Bryce gets up from the couch and walks to the door. He opens it revealing a guy and girl I have never seen before. They come in and I walk up to them with my new found alcoholic bravery.

"Hey!", I yell at them trying to sound above the music.

They both smile at me. I must look like a mess. A drunk unicorn, the eighth wonder of the world everyone.

Gigi turns down the music a little while our two new guests sit down on the couch.

Bryce introduces the two as Nico and Beverly (who prefers to be called Bev). Nico works with Bryce and Bev is Nico's sister.

They join in on the drinking and we have so much fun talking and playing games.

"I dare you to kiss Nico", I say to Gigi.

She giggles. Georgiana Roberts actually giggles and dare I say it, she's even flushed and I know that it's not from the alcohol.

"No", she mumbles looking at everything and everyone except Nico.

I dared her to do this because throughout the night I have noticed how she has been eye raping Nico. And I don't blame her, he's totally attractive with his bad boy vibe that he exudes. He is definitely her type. Gigi loves an element of danger.

"Come on G, it's a dare", I press on.

"It's okay", Nico gives her a nod and moves towards her. They meet up in the middle of our mini circle as we're all now sitting on the floor.

Gigi closes her eyes as their lips meet in a quick peck.

"Not the kiss I wanted, but I'll let it slide", I say to the both of them.

I'm never this brave and outspoken. I blame it on the eight shots of Jägermeister.

We continue to play and end up talking. Before we know it the time was 1am when Nico and Bev leave.

Bryce crashes on our couch while Gigi and I retreat to our rooms.
