15 Web Of Lies.

Victoria walked out of her room. She headed to her mother's room. Just as she was about to knock on the door she stopped. She hesitated if she should ask this sort of thing to her mother. After all, who knows whether what the book said was true or not? The girl was in a dilemma. She did not know what to do.

After a few minutes, she sighed and walked back to her room. Victoria kept her gaze locked on the floor as she walked. She did not know if this story in the book was true or not. She sat on her bed holding the book in her hand. Her eyes were feeding on the twinkling sky outside the big window in her room. Unknowingly she fell asleep.

The next morning, she woke up according to her biological clock. Freshened up and went out of her room dressed in a white one-piece dress. The frill on the hem of her dress added a certain youthful charm to her appearance. A maid stood outside her room with a letter in her hand. She bowed to Victoria and said, "Princess, this letter was sent by Madam. She said we should hand it to you."

The 'Madam' in her mouth was Argentia. Victoria found it odd, she asked, "Where is she?"

The maid replied, " Madam left in the morning after she handed me this letter."

Victoria nodded and took over the letter. She was about to open the letter when she saw the maid gazing at her. She gave her a glance and the maid bowed to her and left. The girl shook her head and opened the letter.

It was a normal letter without any seals. Victoria read it:

"Dearest Vic, Mother is going to worship Artemis. Will come back in a month or so. The lunar solstice is close so, I had to make some preps. You take care of yourself.

Love, Argentia."

The princess raised her eyebrows as she mumbled, "You could have gone away in the morning also, lunar solstice is 3 months away. Why are you signing it as Argentia?" she picked up a small gesture. In the past, when her mother had to leave for some things she would leave a letter for her but it was always signed as Mother and not Argentia.

Just as she was lost in her thoughts she heard a voice, "Vici, why are you standing in dazing out? Did something happen?"

Victoria came back to reality, she raised her head and saw her father standing in front of her with his usual smile. Today, for the first time in her life, she did not want to see this smile. Before she cleared up her doubts she had to keep up the pretense and be the loving daughter she has always been.

She smiled and greeted the man in front of her, "Good morning, Father. When did you come back?"

The man in front of her was Oleksiy Vlad. He smiled and replied, "Yesterday night, just in time to see off your mother. She went to the Temple of Artemis for the upcoming Lunar Solstice."

Victoria replied, "Yes, she left a note, as usual. Also, father, where did you go?"

The smile on Oleksiy's face vanished. He said, "To deal with that hunter, I hired someone. I wonder how his face would look like if he knew who will be the death bringer for him?" he let out a peal of creepy laughter.

Victoria was overcome by a sense of dread but she did not show even a minute fluctuation on her face but played along. She asked, "Who is it, father? You sound very happy right now."

Oleksiy Vlad laughed even louder and said, "Bones and Ash. Two hunter kings, I asked for Ash to come to Marvel City. He will deal with Bones. They have an Old grievance among them." his laughter echoed throughout the mansion.

...

After a light breakfast, Victoria left home. She went to the office with a lot of things on her mind. While she tackled the problems and tasks at work, Bones was lying down in his bed, blankly staring at the ceiling.

He kept recalling the incident in Vlad Groups conference hall. The more he tried to forget, the more he recalled that scene. Those eyes were haunting him. He wanted to find an answer and was trying to figure out things when he suddenly jumped up from the bed and in his hand. He raised the gun, pointed it at the person who just came inside from the window.

He said in a cold voice, "Ashley Crow. Why can you not learn to use doors?"

The man in front of him was called Ashley Crow a.k.a. Ash the hunter. They both were kings among the hunters. They naturally knew each other.

Ashley Crow smiled and said, "Well, the chill is still going strong. I see."

Bones slid the safety of the gun and said, "The reason, Ash."

Ashley sighed and said, "Bastard, the rumor you spread about us having a dispute, finally cashed in. Oleksiy Vlad invited me to the city to watch you in the secret."

You got that right, they were not enemies, on the contrary, they were disciples of the same person. Ashley was helping Bones in drawing out his enemies. It just happened that Oleksiy Vlad took the chance as well.

The two have been helping each other like this for countless years now. Ashley's enemies have been seeking Bones over the years. The two fight but just when it is about time to take the final shot. They call out the hand in the shadows. Ashley kills his own enemies while the same goes for Bones.

The vampire community once suspected something but these two were so adamant about it that they almost killed each other. In front of the world, they showed that their power was equal. Bones was slightly stronger than Ash.

Bones smiled and said, "Very well, this time I will have him in an urn and take a piss on it daily."

Ashley shook his head and walked out of the bedroom. Bones followed him with his gun down. He said, "Are you not afraid of being stared at by that snake Aran?"

Ashley shook his head and said, "Aran died, so did Argentia Vlad."

Bones was surprised by this news.
