18 KILLER

Detective Sungmin rushes to reach the office of the head of security when Supervisor Mok won't answer his radio. He is certain that the man who killed Lee Yejoon will be captured by CCTV in front of the Nurse's Locker Room holding the steel bat. A place they didn't try to investigate before because there were no suspicious reports of anyone going in and out of the lockers.

'Someone from the hospital killed Lee Yejoon.' Sungmin tells himself.

At the security personnel's office, Detective Sungmin immediately shows his identification to the staff behind the screen.

"I'm Detective Lee, the head investigator in Lee Yejoon's case. I need to see the recording in front of the Nurse Locker's room from last week." The investigator orders with a sharp voice.

"Does Supervisor Mok know about this, sir???" The young personnel asks, distrusting the man who surprisingly barges into the office.

"Do I need permission from him before you help an official police investigation???" Detective Sungmin threatens the young crew by not following his command.

"No, sir." The security staff hastily searches for the recorded videos of the day the detective requested.

They play the video starting from midnight until morning the next day but no one steps outside the Nurse Locker with a steel bat on their hands.

"I'm confident the killer will be seen here." Detective Sungmin scratches her thin white beard, glaring at the screen.

"What are you looking for, sir." The security staff turns his head to ask the investigator.

"Can I see the previous recordings from that day?" The detective requests, pursing his lips as his initial idea is proven wrong by the recordings.

As they play the video before the day Lee Yejoon went missing, Sungmin notices the man holding the steel bat goes out of the Nurse's Locker room without looking alarmed by his actions.

"Mr. Mok???" Detective SungMin shockingly exclaims.

"Supervisor Mok goes in and out of the Nurse's Locker Room because his wife is the Head Nurse of the hospital," The security personnel explains, "There's nothing suspicious about him, sir."

Sungmin stares at the security staff. No one will suspect the head of security for killing Lee Yejoon or stealing the bat from Yong Insu's locker room or even his car at the parking lot.

'His wife is the head nurse,' Sungmin remembers the detail behind the Ghost's reason why the killer is not a stranger.

Everything is premeditated by the head of security to kill Lee Yejoon and frame-up his best friend Yong Insu. From using the steel bat to kill the nurse to leaving it in Yong Insu's car to make it look like Lee Yejoon was killed by his best friend out of anger.

'Did Yong Insu's stepfather ordered Supervisor Mok to kill the nurse???' Sungmin asks himself.

Mr. Park is an administrator taking care of shares of the Yong family. If Yong Insu goes to jail, his mother will have sole custody of the percentages, and as the new husband, he will easily get the money from his wife.

'A very clever plan to get the family Yong's money,' Sungmin concludes in his mind.

Mr. Park gets rid of his wife's lover and his stepson in one sweep by using the head of security. Someone who will not be suspected as the killer. Someone who has access to their things and can plant evidence to divert the investigation of the police.

Sungmin reaches for his phone inside his pocket to call the other investigators. He needs them to bring Mr. Park into police custody before he tries to run from authority.

But before he could dial the numbers, Ms. Han immediately crosses his thoughts.

Then, a frightening realization comes into Sungmin's mind as he recalls what he told Supervisor Mok when they met in the hallway outside Yong Insu's room.

"Find Ms. Han Soojin, the therapist helping the investigation," Detective Sungmin says out loud, learning he put the woman in danger.

Soojin curiously follows Supervisor Mok on the elevator going to the basement. When they reach the floor, the elevator door surprisingly won't open. The head of security decides to push the button for the door to unlock at the same time the therapist performs the same thing to open the sliding doors of the enclosed shaft.

The accidental touch to Supervisor Mok's finger gives her a short glimpse of a memory.

["You son of a bitch!!!" Mr. Mok furiously shouted at a nurse walking at the parking lot with the man's back facing him.

Before the man in white could turn around, Mr. Mok angrily hit him with a steel bat in his hand. The nurse falls on the ground like a heavy sandbag with a silent thud on the pavement.]

Soojin's eyes widen realizing who the man is, standing beside her inside the elevator and luring her down the basement. Her forehead and palm begin to sweat in the cold misty air of the room, nervously trying to stand still and not shiver.

'He killed Yejoon,' Soojin told herself.

The elevator door opens and Supervisor Mok steps out first but halts when he realizes the woman did not go out of the elevator.

"Ms. Han???" Supervisor Mok's compressing forehead implies confusion.

"I...I-I'm sorry... I-I forgot... I-I need to meet Dr. Yang at the psychiatric ward." Soojin stutters talking her way out of the man's presence.

She quickly pushes the button for the elevator to shut the door but Supervisor Mok sets his foot between the sliding steels preventing them to close together. Her body begins to tremble from fear when the head of the security slowly steps back inside the elevator.

Soojin can feel her hurt drum wildly as she scrambles to get her phone from her pocket to call the police while stepping away from the man who murdered Lee  Yejoon. When she begins to dial the number, Supervisor Mok quickly grabs the phone out of her hand but she instantly punches him in the face with her right hand to resist his aggression.

The head of security didn't budge from the unexpected attack. He sets his hand on Soojin's shirt and drags her across the elevator, tossing her hard over the steel wall.

!!!BANG!!!

A loud sound reverberates through the four corners of the metal compartment when Soojin's head hits the elevator wall. She instantly feels dizzy and weak on her knees, dropping her phone on the floor. Supervisor Mok steps towards her clutching a wooden baton in his hand while she sluggishly reaches for her phone on the ground.

But before Soojin can lift her phone, she loses consciousness and falls completely on the ground from the hard smash of the black wooden weapon on the back of her skull.

Supervisor Mok carries the drowse off Ms. Han's lightweight body like a large sack of rice on his shoulder. And with heavy steps, he marches towards the electrical room of the hospital on the basement floor.

The radio on the man's waist blares a message from the other end while he continues to bring the therapist inside the dark side of the basement.

"Supervisor Mok!!! Detective Sungmin is looking for you. Please meet him at your office."
