7 The Kiss

"How did work go today?" Ashley asked, taking off his shirt in the living room and taking it upstairs as he followed behind her.

She winced in pain as she moved slowly to sit on the bed in their bedroom. Her lower abdomen hurt her as the pain she felt was intense. It felt like a knife was used to stab her stomach. It was so bad she couldn't go to work.

She was the CEO of Ashley Bakery and Café. She couldn't go to work today but she placed a call to inform her manager that she won't be coming . Even though her presence wasn't needed there everyday, she still went there everyday and took a break on Sundays. She would go to ensure everything was in order there, but not today. It was that time of the month when her monthly visitor came by.

"Sorry babe. It was stressful as usual." Daniel said, planting a soft kiss on her lips as he stood before her, noticing she was in pain.

He loved coming home from work everyday to see her beautiful face, but it wasn't everyday since she came to visit him once in a while.

Work as a real estate agent always stressed him out and hearing her energized him.

"My love what's wrong?" he asked when he caught her holding her stomach. "Its M.P," she said with a pause.

"It started immediately you went to work and I haven't really done much. I just managed to eat breakfast and have my bath that morning. Since then I've been on the bed till I heard your car honk, so I came down to the living room." She said agonizingly.

"So Sorry babe." He pulled her up from the bed before giving her a tight hug and nibbling on her ear teasingly to ease her pain.

She was wreathed in smiles. He placed his hands on her waist, massaging it gently, in a way that felt good. Then he pulled her closer to himself, staring deep into her hazel eyes and bit his lips.

For over three years, their relationship had been a symphonious one, with occasional misunderstandings that lasted no more than twenty-four hours. The recent misunderstanding was a month ago when Daniel was passing through stress at his work and he didn't have time for her, and she let her assumptions have the better part of her relationship. He didn't have time to call like he did before. Ashely was never one to make phone calls. She preferred texting, so when he stopped calling as usual, she believed her assumptions that he was getting tired. It was causing a huge strain in their relationship until he called to explain things.

Daniel let his eyes linger on Ashley's glossy lips, not looking away when she caught him. He moved his lips closer and smacked them.

Her heart raced. She stood there, feeling intense desire run from her heart, to her chest, and down toward her inner thighs.

He let his finger trace her hair slowly and down her chest, before placing her hands on his shoulders and smiling naughtily. She felt safe in the heat of the silence. Her heart thumped furiously and she took a deep breath.

He kissed her shoulder, and ran his lips on her skin towards her ear, but didn't quite make it that far. She tilted her head and he bit her lower lip gently. She parted her lips, releasing a soft moan.

Her hands went down his back and raked through his hair, pressing her body to his, subduing the tingling sensation as it became intense. He held her chin, then brushed his lips against hers. Her lips were soft like and as strawberry would taste, sweet and juicy. She became lost in the moment and her menstrual pains eased.

Daniel began to feel so hot, he needed to use the shower. The kissing continued for a while then he paused.

"Babe…Let me get a shower first." he said staring deeply into her eyes, as if searching for something.

"Okay baby I'll be waiting for you" she replied disengaging from the tight position.

Daniel headed to the bathroom and hummed a song while bathing. He was quite tired after the day's work he needed to have a bath and relax to regain his energy, the kiss made him feel better a bit.

Ashley laid in bed curled up just laying there trying not to move. She laid on her stomach and then she turned slowly to the side to cuddle a pillow trying to find a position that would ease the pain a little bit. Nothing was comfortable as it was the first day of her period and it was always severe pain for her. She had taken ibuprofen earlier in the morning but the pain didn't subside.

"I need a nap" tired Daniel said coming out from the shower.

He saw Ashley curled up on the bed and could imagine the intensity of the pain she felt. He felt pity for her and moved to lay by her side.

"Baby what would we buy for dinner" Ashley asked him turning around to look at his face "Don't worry, I plan on preparing something nice for you when I wake." He said and they relaxed, allowing their minds to sleep.

He placed his arms across her and kissed her forehead before stretching and then relaxing again.

Ashley laid restless on her side, resting her head on an arm, and letting the other rub small, soothing circles on his chest.

"I'm having trouble sleeping," she whispered, looking at him with pain in her eyes.

"Sleep will come." he replied, smoothening her hair and placing her head on his chest.

She closed her eyes one more time and let her mind wander to the first year of their relationship. It was their toughest year, getting to understand each other's different personalities. There were more fights then, she remembered when she was always insecure about him and he got pissed at her for asking unnecessary questions.

Those questions made him yell at her and she would get angry and put up an attitude towards him till he apologized. Initially, she was insecure with his company with females she didn't know. Other times, when she was feeling moody, she'd intentionally annoy him and he would keep his distance till she became herself again.

She smiled, seeing how happy they were now and she was more than thankful for how their relationship had grown to become stronger. With beautiful thoughts, the beautiful arms of sleep embraced her.
