17 Jane and Nathan at the beach

The layer covering the atmosphere had an aura of brightness as the light flickered through it and reached the surface of Earth, making it a bit scorching.

When a beam of light began to heat the side of her face, she wore her sunglasses.

The ride was a quiet one. Thoughts running through their heads with her hoping the place would be lovely, as it was their first time visiting North Beach.

Jane was staring out the car window looking at the people in the city.

"Babe, we're almost there," Nathan said bringing back her attention.

"Okay," she said as she blushed.

Nathan stopped the car after parking, then he paid for their gateway tickets. Jane couldn't stop smiling as she surveyed the new environment.

They picked their little bags containing their beach outfits. They walked to the restroom on the beach and changed into their beach wears.

Jane changed into a long gown with a slit on the left leg, a beach hat, and a slipper. While Nathan wore a floral buttoned shirt and black shorts. "Why are you staring?" Jane asked in between a chuckle.

Nathan simply smiled at her.

His eyes found her walking out of the female restroom, he loved everything about her and her beauty attracted him the most. She looked more beautiful in the slit gown. He wanted to run his hands through her hair, hold her tight, kiss every inch of her skin. His body urged him forward, he took her hand and pulled her close to his chest.

Her cheeks flushed as his gaze went over her, the intensity in his eyes said he loved what he saw. She wanted to be wrapped in his arms.

They were along the restroom and people passing could see them. There was loud music coming from the speakers. The weather was cool, as the wind blew.

Staring into her black eyes, He brushed her lips with light kisses. After a while, he stopped and took her hands. As they walked along the sand. The waves lapping on the shoreline, the wind lightly blowing, and the sun shining down making them feel calm.

"Let's sit and watch the waves," Jane said as she got tired of the long walk. "I love this place," she added.

"I'm glad you do," he said blushing hard. He had put much effort to make her feel special today.

The murmuring of the wave was hypnotic. The beach they walked on was light green and peach. The sea looked dozy as it rested in the afternoon glow. They watched other tourists who were riding on horses. The burning sun roasted them like nuts in an oven. The sea sky seemed threaded with silver. The sea had a sulphury smell.

They sat on the sand, enjoying the view. It was so relaxing. They could feel the nothingness. It helped shut down extreme emotions of pain or stress. They observed innocent kids play in the sand and water, they were filled with joy, loving the freedom. Their serenity was ruptured by the screeching cry of a young girl who got kicked by a horse.

Jane remembered her childhood memories of her visit to the beach with her family. She remembered how she was scared to ride a horse for the first time, and how her dad rode with her.

Nathan loved a luxurious life, he was all about having fun with his loved ones. And he was grateful to having Jane by his side.

After a while of sitting, they got up and walked to the beach canteen. They were famished and thirsty. They bought some fruits and snacks and some drinks too. Their table was filled with all kinds of fruits and snacks.

They grabbed their seats as they sat facing each other. Nathan took some frozen grapes and smiled broadly at Jane putting them in her mouth. She ate them and licked her lips and his hands. Then she fed him too.

"Let's ride a horse," Nathan suggested. "That would be fun," Jane said as her cheeks turned red. They got a black-friendly horse. The horse was made to bend for Jane and Nathan to climb on its broad, warm back.

"I love you, Jane," he said pecking her on the cheeks. Jane placed her arms across his waist holding him tightly. "Are you alright?" he asked as he started riding fast. "Yes," she breathed. She was awed by the ride as the wind blew in her face making her eyes squint and also blew her hair in the air.

Nathan pulled the horse to a halt to reduce the speed.

Nathan gazed at the sky as he saw the sun go down and saw a flock of birds returning to their homes. It was time to go too.

"Babe, I think we should go now," Jane said as if she read his mind.

"Yeah, sure."
